ed, is it true that martinez has a 32m euro buy out clause and do you see united going for him in january or the summer?

keightley! {Ed002's Note - No and no. Buy out clauses are not what folks think.}

Ah ok, can you tell me what they are? thanks.

keightley! {Ed002's Note - Not right now. It has been discussed at length before.}

So it wouldn't mean that if a club met this value, and the player wanted to leave, that he could be released from his contractual obligations to the club?

I'm ever so confused now, or is it just a Martinez thing, I'd love us to get him but I think he's just a bit expensive for us and isn't a blockbuster. Doesn't matter to me, but I think it does to the owners. I'd snap him up.

Ed no 2 is an absolute grump take a chill pill and answer the posters queries instead of 'it's been referred to before etc'.... {Ed002's Note - Maybe he should have asked about a release clause aswell. So what motivation do I have for spoon feeding you information over and over again? Do you want the search function removed?}

Buy-Out-Clauses are much different in Spain than in any other country. Only Spanish clubs can activate the Buy-Out-Clause of a player from another Spanish League team. The only way a Team from another Coumtry can activate the clause of a player as such, is to let them buy it out themselves. But the taxation in Spain would mean for a 32m BOC about 58m would have to be given to set player.

Obviously it goes into much more detail, but I think that's about right, is it Ed?

MPez {Ed002's Note - Broadly - but different rules apply in Portugal, South America etc.. It is much too complicated foto explain in detail - particularly to those who struggle to understand the concept of VAT.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Onto, I know what you mean. Tried explaining to my dad a few times of the jist of it in each country, wasn't happening haha.

{Ed002's Note - Looks like today is going to be a good day for blocking posters. Perhaps even record breaking.}

Did United not sign De Gea after Atletico told united that if they wanted to sign him then they would have to match his buy out clause ??

i have a sneaky feeling the league standings for the top 7 will be as they are now at the end of may.
Oh, and am a united fan before anyone suggests otherwise

Believable24 Unbelievable28

Is there anything more pointless than a anonymous poster's prediction?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

It all depends if man s**tty progress in ucl trophy

Agree0 Disagree0

Why did this make it onto the rumours page? Surely this is banter?

TK-Red {Ed002's Note - Does it really matter?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont even think UTD will make top 4. It will be City, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

Hahah the above poster is a comedian, utd will not only finish in the top 4 but will win the title, we play wolves on sat n city are away at chelsea, the gap could be only 2-3 points by 10 o clock on monday night, city will start flapping the closer we get to them n i think they might buckle. btw neither spurs arse or scousers will finish above us thats an outrageous comment
