Ed002 if you are around, could you give some insight into two players we have been linked to for the past few transfer windows, Julian Draxler and IIkay Gundogan.

I understand that both have injury concerns at the moment with the former still currently out but this was the first transfer window in a few years were I didn't even see their names pop up in the tabloid trash. I was just wondering if any interest from us remained in the pair and if they are still on our radar or has that ship sailed?

Any info would be great!

{Ed002's Note - There have been offers and enquiries for Draxler. Both Milan clubs, Bayern Munich, Spurs, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Chelsea have enquired at one level or another about Draxler - each has met a "not for sale" barrier. I expected a deal might be brokered this past summer and Arsenal are the team that have consistently pushed for a deal. The player has given mixed responses to interest from Arsenal and they have probably moved on now. I am not aware of Manchester United showing any interest. Gundogan is refusing to agree a new deal and is seen as a shadow of his former (pre-injury) self - could be a dumb move but he will be available.}

In an ideal world we buy both Gundogan and Vidal on the cheap because of their inuries then both return to former glory and we have the best midfield in the world ;)

Ed002, I asked a while ago about Reus and you said we had no interest. Has that changed? The was a report at the start of the week that said we'd enquired last weekend, and then I also saw on the Arsenal page that you said we may be interested.

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal's interest has not been a secret. Chelsea stepped back from any deal after discussions when an issue became clear - if that goes away then it is possible something could still be done. Bayern is no longer pushing for him. Real Madrid would like a deal but need to move others on - which it looks like they will. Barcelona may look to striking a deal for January 2016 if they decide to move Suarez on but the player has made it clear that he feels let down by them last summer. Manchester United may be interested as well - but would need to put an offer on the table to the club and player in the next four weeks - there is nothing at the moment. Obviously Dortmund want him to sign a new deal.}

I hope we are interested. However, are his injuries ones to key areas like knees that could have lasting damage?

Thanks for the detailed info as always ed, i fear the reus subject maybe one you get a good few questions on but he is the sort of player i'm sure we would all like to see at utd
