Metro reported first Moyes deal is defender Guillermo Varela From Penarol.
Believable36
Unbelievable10
This makes the Garay rumours seem even less likely to me. If we have Rafael and Valera as promising young back up Jones versatility is less likely to be needed at right back and neither is Smallings. Smalling, Jones and Evans as three back up central defenders is more than adequate to Rio and Vidic, why on earth would we need to splash out £20m on Garay a good player all the same?
Invisible Stuey
Agree1
Disagree0
It's €20m (£17m), and he is a replacement for Rio who will leave next summer. It seems United are preparing for life after Rio early. Something we should have done with Evra a couple of season's ago and Scholes & Keane.
Sydney!
Agree0

He does remind of Rafael a bit.
Agree0

We don't need him and prop won't sign him smalling is our new rio and jones our new vidic
Agree0

There you go, that is the TOP signing saf was talking about. What a bloody joke. We're just carrying on as we have done for the past few years, buying potential.
City have bought two top drawer players, Bayern already bought Goetze, Monaco have bought the world and we have Verala!
Agree1
Disagree3
He had a medical at The Bridgewater this morning.
Agree0
Disagree0
To mr no name talking bout city buying 2 top draw players. 1 has made the Brazilian squad 5 times ( woopde doo ) and the other has a mental break down because he didn't want to leave Spain. Ok it was for Liverpool but still top draw little to far and big mo doesn't start until July anyway so plenty of time for him 2 buy class!.
Agree0
Disagree0
To the person who say "City have bought two top drawer players", go and support them mate. What are you doing following United?
James
Agree2
Disagree0
Still nothing about this kid on the manutd web site can any of the eds explain why there is no mention of his medical he has said he is having it today {Ed004's Note - Maybe the website hasn't been updated yet?}
Agree0
Disagree0
We do need garey despite what a lot of people on ere think! Vidic, smalling, jones r injury prone, rio knocking on. We've had carrick filling at cb for the last two seasons so to say tha is rubbish. Garey is a class act act and at present better than smalling and jones. Not saying they won't b better in future but at the mow ey nowhere near him.
Agree0
Disagree0
So how do you expect those players to develope if you bring in another CB?
Waste of a transfer, we have enough cover already in every position at the back.

If he moves to Arsenal, a lot of people will be shocked at how he plays and the position. I wouldn't start saying your glad about it.
Agree0

If by massive, you mean big, then yes. He's great for domestic games but he'd be left looking confused against top European midfields. We need a cm who can handle technical opponents, not someone who won't even get near them before they move the ball on.

Eds - Do you know if we have ever shown interest in Wijnaldum or Maher from the Netherlands u21's? {Ed004's Note - I haven't heard of interest in either}
Believable1
Unbelievable12
I have heard before and mentioned tonight of interest in Maher from City and a few big clubs. Football Manager legend which has got me to look at him a few times and no way the finished article but does look a player of great promise. I think he is a year or two away from being ready for a big club and as we have similar youngsters ourselves I would be surprised if there is interest from us, shame as I think he will be a top player in two or three years if he moves to the right club at the right time from the glimpses I have seen

ED how is it that even though the transfer window starts on 1st July City have already managed to sign two players? Is it pre-contract or something?

Do any of the Ed's know if we have shown any interest in Isco, or does it look like a straight battle between Real and City?

S***ty are really determined to win next season. The kind of players they are buying send shivers down my spin. Really am worried because apart from Zaha (inexperienced at the highest level), nothing tangible has been done in terms of who our targets really are. I am afraid the name thrown around by the media is just speculation. This coupled with the return of Mourinho. An honest assessment is we will be 3rd or 4th come May 2014. I miss Sir Alex. {Ed004's Note - The window has not even opened yet calm down lol}
Agree2

Citys two signings so far do not fill me with dread. If we signed no one I would still fancy our chances against them next year.
If we sign any two of baines, strootman, thiago and Ronaldo (I believe) we will be much stronger than last season. We have a much most solid base to build than city or Chelsea.

Hummels is a beast in the air and has great spirit, but his distribution is totally subpar. If not for Dortmund's offensive dominance and the tackling of Subotic, Hummels would be found out.

Ed002, I now you are busy so I will not pester you, but can you clear up what is going on with both Evra & Nani at the moment. There is a lot of rumours about both being wanted by Monaco/Gala/Juve/PSG etc. Can you update us on anything you know regarding Evra & Nani? Thanks. No rush, when you get a spare five minutes.
Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Galatasaray would like Nani at the right price. Monaco may push ahead with a deal for Evra as the player they would rather have for left back has no interest in a move there.}.

Steve, it's imbeciles like you who give the editors abuse - for providing us with a service to come together, and the odd time are able to give us information on our respective clubs - which leads to the editors feeling uncomfortable commenting on such questions from us posters.
Don't be such an ignorant fool and take a step back to allow maturity to kick in.
This is not their job, they do this for us. Show the editors some respect.
Agree6

Steve - have a bit more respect. All the Eds have job and run this site for people like us. Its a great site and a lot of us appreciate the time and effort that all the Eds put into this. Sydney! was merely being polite and asked a question that we all probably wanted to know the answer to. If you can't be respectfull then I suggest you log onto another site where somebody cares about your opinion!

TK Red is spot on, hell this is one of my favourite websites I visit it everyday and offer 'rumours' when I can. Of course it's not the Eds job but let's not be too over the top as if it wasn't for EVERYONE this site wouldn't be a success. Suck it in a bit Steve and don't be so rude, try and be a bit more of a 'team player'.
Paul

Fair Play Steve for the aknowledgement of what you said being wrong (if it is you!).
Maybe you are new to the site but if you didn't know the Eds do this in their spare time and are greatly respected. People always disagree on the site and some stick is given out. Its good banter, but only with the people who log in to look and read. Without the Eds this site wouldn't exist and we all have to appreciate that and respect what the Eds do or reply to (even if you don't agree!).

Wow, not a single reply regarding Ev or Nani. First of all thanks Ed002 again. After a nice day at the beach showing off the man boobs and getting a bit sun burnt, I will now tend to a box of wine. My missus' wine to be more accurate, whilst acting as though I'm enjoying her pasta. Yum : (
Ed002, do Gala ever pay a proper fee for a player? They always seem to try and get players on the cheap. Do you think Baines is a possibility when Ev goes? I would hope the club could get back around £20m for the pair of them (Ev & Nani). Do you think that's realistic?
Sydney!
Agree0

Steve, no need to be obstreperous.
Agree0
Disagree0
If Monaco and Gala are in for Nani and he has a choice between the two, then surely he'd go to Monaco where they're building a young quality team, not to mention the fact he'd be with a good friend and international teammate in Mountinho.
Evra on the other hand did say that he wants to return to France but the only reason he stayed if because of SAF? If true then maybe he will go this season IF so then it's more than likely Baines will be bought to replace him as a more senior experienced player even though Kenwright said no one will be sold except Fellaini who has an 'escape clause'.

I know there is this talk about the bayern deal being done, But when United had people watching RL (at the time a proposed £17mill bid agreed)in january he stated he was leaving in the summer and his dream move was to the premier league and his preference was us over chelsea, I know this was ages ago and before bayern won everything, But earlier this week he was quoted saying his dream move will happen soon, (maybe waiting to see what happens with the rooney situation) Hope he comes to us and Rooney leaves to be honest.
