howerya lads
just wondering if pogba signed for juve did he sign for less than what we offered him and if so, what do all the guys that were saying he was a money grabbing player have to say about that? looks like playing time played a huge role in it. And ppl sayin agent influenced him, he'd have to be some manipulator to make him movie countries and home to get less money while knowing that the agent is gettin a huge payout or pogba is just not good with a calculator?

sulei

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Or more than likely he didn't know what was on offer from us and Juventus. It's more than likely he wouldn't have been with his agent during meetings with United or Juventus so would be relying on what his agent said, i also doubt his agent would have said "if you sign for United i just get paid a small fee where as if you sign with Juventus i'll get a 2m bonus" I wouldn't expect him to tell Pogba what he as the agent would be getting out of any deal. I feel the agent is mostly to blame but you need to take into account things like wages and how he feels as a young player hailed as the best player in the fa youth cup winning side which is the best youth team since Beckham Giggs Scholes Butt and the Nevilles, Did he feel under valued? Did he expect more playing time? Did he know what was really on offer from both teams? Or how much his agent would make? Has he really settled in england?

There as so many differant things which could and probably have lead to him making this decision, lets just wish him the best and move on, Manchester United is a damn sight bigger than one unproven youth player who for what ever reason doesn't wanna be here.

all the news on the net sayin he's gettin paid 1 million euros , 830k pounds to be exact just under 16k a week, so i dnt believe the rumours of him wanting 32k or when ravel was askin for 45k , pogba didnt get the playing time he deserved he's not holding the club ransom he's just leaving cos he's sick of players like gibson, park, anderson, giggs and scholes cumin bak from retirement playing ahead of him. 1 of the biggest insults was against blackburn when fergie played rafael(cuming bak from injury) in cm. i honestly think pogba is being a man and making a decision on his career

Agree0 Disagree0

You don't believe the rumours that he was asking for 32k a week but believe the rumours he's sign a contract for 16k a week yet neither are from a legitimate source, both are as likely made up figures as no one has seen this contract or had a discussion with Pogba or his agent on the matter. He also got a 1m signing on bonus if you wanna believe those rumours which would double his wages in the first year to about 32k. His agent also got a 2m bonus, so if we were to compete with Juventus then we'd have had to do the same, why would we pay 3m for a player from our own academy? Surely the advantage of having an academy is that the players we get from it don't cost us huge amounts of money? This whole situation has as much to do with money as it does playing time. I to felt Pogba was ready but for what ever reason Sir Alex didn't feel playing him was right for Manchester United. Whether that be because he wasn't ready or the games too important or too physical to risk him in then thats the way it goes. If he thinks he'll get more time a Juventus then good luck to him. Pirlo Vidal and Marchisio will not be as easy to shift as Scholes Carrick and Fletcher.

Shappy

Agree0 Disagree0

People are not quite understanding things here, if Pogba signs for United his agent will receive a small amount of commission, if he signs for Juventus he will get a minimum of a couple million. Agents are more powerful than folk think. Nasri wanted the United move and his three reps wanted the City move, Why? Because if he signed for City they would receive £2m a piece, if he signs for United they would have to share £2.4m between them. Agents are much more powerful than what people think and an 18 year old away from his family is no match for Raiola.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

It has nothing to do with the offer made to Pogba , It's the fact that the agent is getting £1.7 million for moving him on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shappy,
Pogba knew exactly waht he was signin! Its a basic element of contract law.He saw Park and giggs playing Sh1t,scholes coming out of retirement and flecthers season being over due to his illness and saw that he was still being looked over.He got sick of it and left.end of really.Agents can only get you the best deal possible.(not always financial)they can t sign it for you.

Agree0 Disagree0

'No namer'

I believe Pogba wasn't played over the last couple of months even when when the chances opened up to him purely because SAF only lets these kids play when they've signed on long term. There is no point trying out a young prospect which could be a risk (especially at this time in the season) if he's just going to leave a few months later.. It's small bits of professionalism such as this that keep a club consistently successful. Agents are becoming one of the leading bad influences in football. The sole reason being all their care about is $$$

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

If pogba really wanted to play for united he would of signed the contract end off.
it was the agent , it was pogba , he wanted playing time , he wanted money , everyone has an opinion but i would be surprised if anyone on here really knows.

Redman we made Pogba two offers and the first one would have been the same as we offered Cleverly and Welbeck at the same age, 16 grand a week, the 2nd offer must have been in the 20s. You need to get over your glazer fixation and understand that the club done all they could to kep him. Sometimes the agents are just too influential and the agent is not going to let Pogba prevent him from getting his high commission payout. So stop with the whining, we offered more than juventus.

Believable13 Unbelievable0

Mr/Miss No name

Firstly, you say the second offer must have been in the 20s, why would Pogba uproot where he has been and go to Northern Italy in an inferior league for whilst a big club a smaller one than he is at for less money?
I dont believe the club have done all they can to prevent him leaving, they have a precious pay structure to keep wages down whilst having a large squad, paying the likes of Berbatov £100k a week not to play.
Pogba and Morrison were the stars of our youth set up and reserves, the reason we didnt sign the top players for the last three summers, the reason the Glazers didnt sign any cheques for major players.
Like most long standing United fans I want our youth to succeed especially when they appear to have a good chance. Over the many years of watching I have seen a poor youth system as well as the good one we have now. I dont remember losing two quality players before.
As to the Glazers well open your eyes and you will see what they have done to our club, they have not put us in a position to be able to buy the best players. They have a policy on wages and spending which has brought us to this.
SAF is doing an amazing job with the level of team we have, but that cannot continue and in summer something has to give.
Saying that SAF has hardly helped by not giving either Morrison or Pogba time on the pitch, bringing in and trusting 37 and 38 year olds instead of giving the two youths a chance.

I suggest you open your eyes or will you be a fair weather fan and disappear when we stop being successful?

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

I do not think this had anything to do with money... Just playing time...

fergie at the start of the season labled the boy the future and said he would have to give him game time and then what happens...

We LOSS Cleverly, Anderson, Fletcher and Pogba must be thinking right this is my opportunity......

HELL NO.... we play rooney, giggs, park and even f****g gibson in there.....

No wonder he got fed up waiting...... he should have been drafted in earlier and given more time on the bench. When it reached the end fergie should have promised him a start in every europa game... I seriously think the lure of playing in the final (if we were to get there) may have convinced him to sign.... {Ed002's Note - It is the advice he has been getting which will lead to him leaving. Not the money nor the playing time - but the "suggested" future opportunities - and the money that goes with that etc.. This goes back to last summer.}

Raiola was never going to allow Pogba to sign a new deal at United. Pogba is his cash cow. Why do you think his previous agent hired Raiola? He is the devil ;)

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Does raiola not also represent other players ballotel, for example , im sure he makes more money out of him than his cash cow pogba, all other players have agents yet dont all give in to them.
could it by that pogba would rather play for juventus than united

According to Duncan Castles, Pogba has signed for Juventes and Fergie is reported to be furious. Don't shoot the messenger it's on twitter.

Edge

Believable11 Unbelievable0

Castles is never reliable though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Duncan Castles spouts some serious sh!t so I don't know whether or not to believe it. Also, I've heard on here that SAF is ultimately the one who decides if Pogba is given a more lucrative contract, so SAF wouldn't be "furious" as he's the one who made the decision!

#ags 19

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would SAF be furious he did not rate him highly enough to give him a chance when we practically had no fit central midfielders available willing instead to play Park Rooney and even Gibson whom he knew he was selling ahead of him.
I have said it before United as a club have to take some responsibility for the Pogba situation getting to this stage noises were made preseason that if we didnt play this kid we could lose him well guess what we didnt and we have !!

Devil Dust.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope it's not true.
But SAF sure has no leg to stand on to be mad.
Should have signed him up last year and not leave it to the last minute when he and his agent are seeing the dollar signs on the horizon

Jonny8

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he is correct. If he is correct he said that his agent will receive 2m euros commission and Pogba will receive 1m euros a season. That is around £17k a week. So it looks like his agent has got what he wanted. I did say Juve wouldn't pay £32k a week, but it looks like he has chosen to join Juve for a lesser wage than we have offered him. Agent pressure? Will Pogba be receiving some of his agent's 2m euros commission?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney

I think the problem is we dont know what we offered him. However, given nearly everyone has been saying it is about money I cannot really see Pogba turning down a higher offer from us to sign for Juventus for less. It says to me our offer was less than the 1m euros quoted, if that is correct.
He has had good advice from senior players so it could be more about playing time than money.
SAF is guilty on that for bringing Scholes out of retirement rather than giving Pogba a chance.
Our youth policy is now a mess

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

C'mon now. i think thats a bit of an exaggeration "our youth policy is a mess". if this were to be, we wouldn't have given the likes of Gibson, Bardsley, Richardson, Macheda, Fryers, Evans, Fabio, Rafael, Cleverly, Welbeck most recently the opportunity to play at all. ok the first three are long gone but they were given a fair opportunity and macheda hopefully will not wear the red strip again and in my opinion was given more than his fair share. and the rest on the list is proof of our successful youth policy.

unfortunately pogba for whatever reason will most probably leave but make no mistake we still will be winning trophies.

muffinMan

Agree0 Disagree0

Pogba has been handled wrong in my opinion, I think this season he should of been sent out on loan to get expierience/playtime, same as Fryers who I believe will be next out the door.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

'Herbie'

Going out on loan is exactly what Pogba's agent would have wanted. Keep him away from SAF trying to get him to stay and not having to worry about SAF turning Pogba's head. SAF done the right thing by getting him in the squad and blooding him quicker than planned. You have to remember Pogba is 18 and players like Neville, Scholes & Beckham didn't get their chances until they were 19/20. Yes Scholes was brought out of retirement, but Gibson was sold to make room for Pogba so think about it.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

If they don't want to wear the shirt they should F**k off. I'm pleased Morrison went, some things matter more than football, not many but some,. Morrison is a moron and acts like a 12 year old.United are better than that, let him sit on the bench at WHU instead.Paul Pogba was awesome playing against other kids and looks like he has genuine potential. however, if this deal to Juventus is on, he's let his agent get rich and has not done the best thing for his talent. I think Pogba's has or will be gone. I feel the only reason SAF didn't play him, when we had a zillion injury's was that he saw him as disloyal. As for Fryers --who cares, he can go to Rochdale or something.

Nani looks to be in contract negotiations at the moment with the club, looks to be getting around £125k a week raised from £90k. I remember a lot of people either wanted or thought that Nani would transfer somewhere else sooner rather than later, however i think this is very good news for us. He's one of our most exciting and dynamic players.

Ozwald

Believable23 Unbelievable3

Makes you wonder why he was made available for transfer in the summer
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

The £90k a week rumours originated from the Mirror or the Mail a long long while ago, papers are going along with this but it isn't anywhere near the correct amount. Manchester United's wage structure does not shoot from £15k a week to £90k a week.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

'jred'

In March 2010 Nani asked for an improved contract which was rejected by the board as he signed one just one year earlier. Obviously he sulked so much that the club and SAF was planning for life without him. Nani then made it clear to the club that he wanted to stay. That is the vague version.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry I meant he was refused a new contract in March 2011 after signing a four year deal in March 2010. Funny enough its March 2012 now and he is getting a new deal? Could he have been told to wait a year?

Sydney!

See i think 125K is way to much. wat sydney says makes a lot of sense.

I was just saying what i saw on the official website, i thought he earnt about £80k a week at the moment? Baring in mind i think Ashley Young earns something like £100k a week?

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see young earning anywhere near 100k a week if day 60-70 at best personal view tht is wasn't he on bout 40 at villa an we wouldn't offer 60k more thn he was on as we dnt pay high amounts of wages unless earned by playing for the club an proving ur worth it internally

'Oz'

It was the exact same paper that went with the £130k a week Young wage, it's not even close to being true. They got that figure because someone said United will double what Villa offered him and that was £65k a week. He is actually on between £75k-£80k a week, same as Valencia now and probably the same as what Nani will be offered this month. I cannot see them going higher than £90k a week for Nani as that is what Vidic is on and what Rooney was on before his pay-rise. United have a structure in place and if they jump too high, the next time they will have to go even higher. It goes up in steps and there is no chance United will pay Nani £15k a week then bump him straight up to £90k a week. That is why SAF & Mendes are such good friends, he keeps the wages down. Papers are often correct with their stories, but they make up the figures involved.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

'Dio'

The papers probably got the wrong end of the stick and United doubled his current Villa wage, not double the wage Villa were offering him. £40k x2, rather than £65k x2.

Sydney!

so syd r u sayin he went from 15k to 60k and now to 125k? cos u sed 15k -90k is not beleivable but 60-125k is believlabe?

johndenton

Agree0 Disagree0

'no name'

I believe Nani will be offered between £75k-£90k, not a chance he will be on above £100k.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry Nani's paid £15k a week?

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

When Nani & Anderson signed in 2007 they were on £15k a week, in March 2010 Nani had a payrise, in March 2011 he asked for a bigger contract and the club rejected it.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

When young first joined man utd it said he was getting 120k-130k one of them not joking

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope nani and young are not on 100plus. if there was a winger out of the squad to get 100plus it for one would choose valencia

Sell him sell him sell him
he wastes to much possesion, pissess off team members with his selfish play and only plays well every 5-6 games. He can't play on the left and valencia is way better on the right. sell him sell him sell him
