Even though i'm 100% certain this is untrue, i've always thought that this would be a good idea to get him used to the players/club before taking over

Completely untrue but I do agree this would be the best way to bring in a new manager.

Problem is very few will take an assistants job after being manager. Particularly when it's someone like Moyes who has been at a club for such a long time

I think anyone who thinks Moyes as manager is a good idea, needs to go and take a cold shower to wake them up proper.
The man has been at Everton for god knows how many years and not won anything. Before you go on about lack of funds, that is all bull. Birmingham won the league cup and so did Swansea this year. Even Liverpool have won trophies while he's been manager at Everton.
So please stop this nonsense talk and let united be Manchester United, the greatest football club on earth deserving the best manager on earth. And that is certainly not Moyes.

Agree2 Disagree0

I know Moyes is fancied by a few but not top choice in my opinion.

I do believe though that the best way for a new manager to gel in with the united squad is for him to be the no 2 for a season or two. But as stated would be difficult for most managers, never stated that I wanted Moyes though.

Ed do you still see Lewandowski ending up here? No doubt Abramovic will just outbid us, has Lew refused any other English club except us?

Dan {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed with Lewandowski. At present Dortmund and the player have been unable to reach agreement over a new deal and they probably won't. Whilst there is no agreement in place for him to join any other club, it is clear that there is interest from Manchester United and interest from Bayern Munich, who Dortmund would prefer not to sell to. Arsenal were represented at a fairly recent game in Stuttgart and I suspect Lewandowski was of interest to them. Real Madrid and Chelsea will possibly look to Lewandowski if they are unable to bring in the players they are currently looking to.}

Ed002, have there been any more talks between United and Benfica about Gaitan? {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new that I am aware of.}
