Ed02, on the Chelsea page you did a brief write up on the 29th April listing out going players, players interesting the club, youngsters etc. Any chance of doing the same for this page please instead of a full write up?

Thanks

{Ed002's Note - This is the old one - I will update it when I can.

It is no secret that Inter want Kagawa, that Evra will be leaving, that Ferdinand's time may be up, that Vidic will leave and that Spurs, Roma and Valencia will be interested in Hernandez if he becomes available. Rafael may well also leave with the club looking at Santiago Arias and Seamus Coleman. Mangala and either Ginter or Hinteregger would be the ideal centre backs. Carvalho remains a midfield target although the club would ideally like Vidal. Gundogan, if available, might be seen as too much of a risk. There is interest in Kroos but Bayern Munich would like a new deal. Shaw is of interest but the price being asked might well make the club to look at other options such as Valencia's Bernat and Alex Sandro, but there is interest from elsewhere in Sandro.}

LvG should be announced tomorrow morning. And he will almost certainly be at the game tonight. This is according to the same source that said Moyes was facing the chop two weeks before it happened. Pilib de Brun.

Believable15 Unbelievable20

I have heard the same from different sources. If he is spotted tonight, he will be manager in the morning officially. Then I think we will start to hear about some player deals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Here's hoping that its true. I hope we can get some deals sorted sharpish and not wait for last minute panic buys.

Surely players have already been shortlisted, Its now time to make realistic offers that can't be refused. agree to terms and sign them up.

Has Ancelotti really turned down an offer from us that would make him highest paid manager in the world? Circa 18 million per season!
I doubt it.

Believable7 Unbelievable30

I would not have thought so. It's days now until LVG is announced. If he is at the game tonight he will be announced tomorrow I am sure.

A lot has been said about how LvG will improve the team, the style of football, etc. However one additional benefactor of LvGs presence will be Ed Woodward.

Within the game, LvG has some major connections, contacts and friendships, that are invaluable when trying to complete transfers with opposing clubs, etc. Woodward needs to get himself alongside LvG when concluding these deals to simply get himself introduced to these influential people (with little interference or involvement ideally). Should LvG then leave or retire; at least Woodward can then sustain the relationships and continue to develop them himself. Ed Woodwards lack of relationships was a key contributor as to why we couldn't get deals concluded last Summer - Hopefully, alongside LvG, that'll soon change.

You can guarantee that Woodward will be at these meetings lol.

Absolutely spot on post! Can only be a good thing!

Agree1 Disagree0

What sort of contacts that LVG has can help Woodward out at making deals go through for various players at different clubs?

Agree0 Disagree0

That's a great shout! He will be well connected with clubs, coaches and agents and should be a whole lot more productive in the market. Let's hope he does the business and we have a busy summer!

Reus 40m
Kroos 30m
Vidal 35m
Hummels 35m
Garay 17m

With player sales and retirements to cut the wage bill the above would be awesome!

if you watched the bundesliga highlights gotze after scoring two goals did not celabrate and looked like he was not re4aly interested could there be something in the rumour he has told friends he is joining us in the summer

Believable9 Unbelievable26

I think Götze is too much of a luxury buy for a club that needs a serious rebuild. Yes I'd love for him to join us, but I'd much rather the funds were used to secure signings we genuinely needed i.e Garay, Shaw, Kroos, Reus

Agree0 Disagree0

What are you saying?
because Goetze is joining us he is unhappy?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think there are a lot of disillusioned players at Munich. Muller, Kroos, Gotze, Martinez and even Schweinsteiger have all been reported to be unhappy. I must admit, I will be surprised if we don't sign at least one player from Munich. Pep is facing a similar problem to Moyes, the players are loyal to the previous manager - to resolve this he needs to ring the changes and bring in his own players. This will lead to a lot of players leaving - I can particularly see a lot of German players leaving as they don't like the style.

Personally, I feel fairly confident that Kroos will be in a red shirt next season and I also see us pushing for either Muller of Gotze. If we are to play that 4-3-3 with two inside forwards beside RVP then we need new ones (apart from Januzaj). Reus being one and the other one from Gotze or Muller - that's the way I see us going.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it is more likely that Pep would be forced out before they lose all those players, especially with the clubs hierarchy already grumbling.

Agree1 Disagree0

Either way, something has to give. Do they lose Pep or three, four or even five first team players? Personally I think they will give him another year to build his own team. Gotze I think will definitely leave as he is the most unhappy, Kroos and Muller could do and with Muller there are signs that they would let him leave. We will see.

Agree0 Disagree0

Peps more likely to leave then the players. And the one thing I hate to have to point out here is simply; how often do you see one club, unless relegated, sell 3+ of their most important players? They would need to be in dire financial straits or such alike for that to happen. More over, it's also rare that one club sells several players to the same team. You have to look for precedent here and there really is very little like it. The same things happening in this country with Southampton, everyone assumes they're going to be cannibalised and stripped of their good players. Why exactly? It just doesn't happen really. The Bayern hierarchy, already disillusioned with Pep, are more likely to remove him then remove the players. I could see maybe one or two players bailing out though, hopefully we can still get Kroos.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes, but they wouldn't just be selling their players would they. The players want to go and Pep will have players that he will want to replace them with. Cesc and Pedro for example are available and could easily replace Kroos and Muller. Not saying that's going to happen btw.
