Ed in fairness spending a net of 25m on Replacements for Van Der Sar, Scholes & Giggs is not a lot of money. Especially when you consider the wages saved on Giggs, Neville, Van Der Sar, Scholes & Carrick this summer and next. United net spent 9m this year is 25m so over the top when replacing legends Ed?
{Editor's Note: I think that they will spend what is needed - but will not be taken for a ride over prices. If they can get replacements fro those three at £25M I would guess that'll be OK.}

I think United will smash Arsenal's profits, i think the Glazers want to try and turn some fans opinions around by showing a big profit and i expect United to not spend big January/summer, but to spend a reasonable amount on a keeper, Central midfielder and a left winger.

No, no I can't. Because there never was a statement made of that nature. And the newspapers made that policy up.
~Emm sorry to butt in on this little disagreement but David Gill has said it on many occasions, he also said the Berbatov signing was a one off.
So you are wrong, it is a rule and i have heard it straight from the horses mouth (Gill) in two or three of his interviews. Manchester United will not pay big money for players 27 or over. But it doesn't mean United will not buy anyone 27 or over, it just means that they will not pay big amounts for players 27 or over. I would imagine a big amount is anything over 10-12m.
