Interesting comments from Tati Marino the Barca coach after they beat Thailand saying he is not concerned if they lose fabregas to united, I hope that means we are close Davethered

Believable25 Unbelievable32

I think he was purely, stating that he was more concerned that puyol wasn't fit and that he didn't need to worry about the fabregas issue as there is no issue. Don't think fab will be coming, sorry

Agree1 Disagree0

Reading your post really got my hopes up, then I looked up his quotes which do not say what youve said. He has practically said this whole saga is over and cesc is definitly not leaving. Thanks for that.

GALWAY RED

Agree0 Disagree0

We're getting him. Why else say that.

Agree0 Disagree3

He said he was not concerned about losing Cesc, not if - i. e. he ain't coming. JB

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly JB! let's not make things up here. false hope isn't what we need!

My thinking is that if we are to anounce a signing tomorrow it'll be Geoffrey Kondogbia, and he'll play 1/2 the game for each team? Just a thought but what would you all think if that was the case?

Believable8 Unbelievable41

Half of wot game, we don't play till Friday, rio's testimonial?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather have him than Fellaini tbh. Not that i'm against Fellaini but Kondogbia is a lot easier to watch and has a higher ceiling.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly the type of player we need. If united just signed this one player type i'd be happy going into the season. We haven't been able to win possession for 2 years now!
Obviously would hope for more signings, but we do still have a good team elsewhere. Pace and power in midfield is our one true weakness.

Bayern Munich club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted that talks will be held with Wolfsburg if they have reached an agreement with gustavo. He said ”If Wolfsburg already have a deal with the player, then we will have further discussions with them. "
we should surely try signing him and bayern are willing 2 sell as well.

sid

Believable16 Unbelievable9

Agree sid. he is a top player for 15m will have a world cup winners medal in July. we should be in for him played in 11 of bayerns CL games great stats and boundless energy. would improve our squad for sure

Agree2 Disagree2

I sorry but he is not good enough.
He is only a squad player for Bayern.
And if he was good enough they wouldn't be willing to sell him.
He does not have the quality to be playing for Man utd

Lots of rumours that we've offered Everton £20m plus Anderson for Fellaini.

Believable10 Unbelievable37

Is anderson worth that little, surely not.
DHK

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance Anderson wants to stay and moyes wants him. Absolute rubbish mate

Agree4 Disagree0

Hope not, I may get some stick for this but I'm really hoping ando stays and is started to be played in his true position CAM

Agree2 Disagree0

Doubt it, from what I've heard Moyes is a big fan of Andersons.

Agree3 Disagree0

Marinez is a fan but should be worth more than that, any chance of Fellini and Coleman instead of Baines as 28 is a bit old for the £ being mentioned.

Agree0 Disagree0

No Name, did you mean to write: 'Ive heard Moyes is a fan of big anderson?'

Mikee

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair Anderson was on everyone's " to sell " list not long ago. However, he may have got himself fit and lots of us still think his real potential hasn't been realised yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Or £25m and we keep fatty

I have a source, can't say who it is, and honestly, I can't really say whether the information will be accurate, but they assured me it was and so I thought I'd post it: apparantly Fabregas and Fellaini are to be announced over the next few days. Fabregas has been pretty much done for about a week, just some I dotting and t crossing that has held it up, and Fellaini is being tied up as we speak.

Hope this turns out to be accurate, as I for one would be very happy with those two signings.

WizardOzmand

Believable33 Unbelievable27

Mad Hatter

Agree2 Disagree0

Happy i'd swim to old trafford if it was true. two ''FAB'' signings if I do say so myself.

dufferz

Agree2 Disagree0

I can believe this could be true. I've thought for weeks they would be out summer signings.

Fingers crossed.

Agree2 Disagree0

This would be great, I'd be ecstatic. The only problem with that is I don't know if United would let Fabregas go on tour with Barca and risk injury if he was more or leas signed. Although I suppose on the other hand he is getting his fitness levels up. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Agree1 Disagree0

It's not, Martinez has said there has been no bids for Feilaini.
Can't see Fabregas coming either!

Agree0 Disagree1

I hope so mate this would be a fantastic window if we got those two. I think Fellaini is nailed on tbh and the silence from the Fabregas camp is making me very optomistic. I think a decent left back and maybe another attacking player (if Spud leaves) and we will challenge on all fronts this season:)

Agree0 Disagree0

This is it.
This is the last straw. if by friday nothing happens I will stop coming to this site again. No offence to the editors or any of the posters but this site has had my hopes up on far too many occasions. all these done deals and sure shots. No. No more.

Agree0 Disagree1

Dean1210, how is Feilaini nailed on?why?because Moyes was Everton mgr, will ya stop, its all blown up for me and you and the world to buy papers!we havnt even put a bid in for Feilini and not only that Martinez has said there has been no bids for Feilaini!the tabloids know that everything has gone quiet at Man Utd, so what can they say about them?oh they'll just say they have put in a bid for Feilaini!its all bull as far as I'm concerned!the Fabregas situation is dead and buried aswell as barca said we have given up on him!dont believe anything until you see anyone new in a utd shirt!

Agree0 Disagree1

You must be deluded what part of no not interested don't you understand about fab lol he would only come back to arsenal plus we still have his buy out clause lol

Agree0 Disagree2

I don't think Fabregas would be out in the far east if the deal was all but tied up, I think it's ongoing as the manager previously said but i'm guessing the real issue is we are still a a long way short of what Barca need to come to the table.
While I can see the Fabregas saga being protracted I can't see why we would have waited so late to go for Fellaini, would have imagined if we were interested in Baines or Fellaini - it would have been tied up early and not left till now.

Agree0 Disagree1

Time will tell if this is true or not. But if it is we will finally have addressed our major weakness. If we get these players it will have a knock on effect on many of our other players. For example it would probably helps he like of Nani to perform better. Also I think the reason we leaked so many goals last season was because our mid was so bad that our defence were constantly under pressure. Also Van Persie had to work very hard for his goals last year and often had to drop very deep to get the ball. Imagine if we were strong enough in the middle so players like Van and maybe even Rooney could get back to being total strikers. All that said let's not get excited just yet!

Agree1 Disagree0

Good idea 007, maybe after each match we could do a man of the match poll? Just a thought!

Ozwald {Ed007's Note - Good idea Oz. I'll sort that no problem when the season starts.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Intrigued to see who would be happy with Fellaini, it's about as close as the Rooney poll.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007

Would have been nice to have a 3rd option on the Rooney poll - would we want a fully motivated Rooney to stay? Of course. Would I want the disgruntled, unhappy Rooney of the last 12-18 months to stay? No.

Report's United are in talks with Everton,
I wouldn't be surprised to see fabergas commit his future to Barcelona tomorrow
Jred

Believable28 Unbelievable20

I won't be surprised either. Was always going to be a difficult transfer to pull off anyway.

I hope we bring in Modric along with Fellaini though. Been on the Modric bandwagon for a few years now.

Agree0 Disagree2

I think we should jump off the Modric wagon. If we sign Fellaini il be happy to give Kagawa the opportunity to show his class in the attack link up play, big year for him IMO better than Modric

Agree1 Disagree0

I actually think the fact that Barcelona have bid for David Luiz today signals the start of a transfer merry-go-round which will see Cesc to United, Rooney to Chelsea and Luiz to Barca. Not ideal selling Rooney to a rival but let's face it, he has to be sold at this stage, and there isn't anyone else sniffing around other than Chelsea

Agree1 Disagree1

Whats this i've heard about Henriquez going on loan to Everton as part of any deal for Fellaini?

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually still think we'll sign Fabregas

Agree2 Disagree1

Martinez has said there has been no bids for feilaini, thank god for that!

SuperRed

Agree0 Disagree0

United we stand

I hope so
Jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people say Luiz going to Barcelona would mean Cesc will sign. Has anyone been told that Barcelona has no funds? Stop assuming. Madrid want to sign Bale and give Ronaldo a new deal (big money). Big clubs can get money easily. Players transfers are not the only sources of funds!

Agree0 Disagree0

Jred, I said something similar the other day. The moment Cesc comes out and says he is happy at Barcelona is the moment we have pulled out of the deal. The editor is so confident that Barcelona will not sell.

Barca have bid for Luiz could be interesting if us CFC and Barca could strike a three way deal involving transfers of Luiz Rooney and Fabregas, it would give every team the player that they need the most.

Stew4d

Believable16 Unbelievable20

It's possible

Agree2 Disagree0

Mind. Blown. But. Possible.

SB

Agree2 Disagree0

I quoted this deal 48 hrs ago. pretty much was dismissed by all on here we will see

Agree0 Disagree0

I quoted this possibility weeks ago. I still see it as a possibility - but we are certainly in a weak position owing to the fact that Rooney looks almost certain to leave anyway.

If Chelsea decide that they can afford to buy Rooney without losing Luiz - it all falls apart. Barcelona could also move to another target if they felt that Fabregas was worth more than Luiz (which I'd agree with).

I have my fingers crossed for this. I'd rather Rooney stayed - but as it's looking certain that he will leave; Fabregas is one of the few signing out there who would ease the blow.

redseven

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hate the idea of selling Rooney to a PL club, especially Chelsea because they're already the team most likely to beat us to the title. If we have to sell him to them, it'd be a good idea to wait until after we play them in a few weeks time.

i agree with u with the selling if rooney to another prem club its lude. the truth b told chelsea have lukaku torres ba and i'm sure there's some1 else. jose nearly always plays 1 up front I can't see the logic in rooneys mind that hel get in infront of these permantly he needs a link up man or to play deeper himself. he won't get in in front of there midfeilders or wingers and then if he has an off spell hel b back on the bench because of his attitude. why move to a team whos actually strong in these positions compared to the club uv been with for 9 years it baffles me. hel regret in in 6 months if he goes.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Aug 2013 09:51:39
Well in my opinion I think its a very good thing that Moyes can't comment on Fabregas. The two most important camps are silent: Ourselves & Fabregas himself. I think a £40 million bid will go in by the end of the week which will be accepted, once its accepted the whole scenario will move very very quickly. Once this happens then Rooney will be allowed to get his move to Chelsea. It is then up to Moyes to decide whether midfield options of Carrick, Fabregas, Cleverly, Anderson, Jones, Powell & Giggs are enough for the coming season or does he want Fellaini. Other than centrally, I don't see us strengthening anywhere else. As I have said before, new found faith will be placed in Nani to see what he can do.

Believable25 Unbelievable23

Cant see us getting Fabregas. Can see Feillaini coming all right.

Agree2 Disagree4

I hope the things you mentioned come true. The more I think about it, the more I would like a summer of just Fabregas and Fellaini. And I can't see where Rooney fits in the team, so I would of course sell him for 35-40 million.

Nicolas_United

Agree2 Disagree1

Good Post - I think that we got destroyed by stronger central midfielders last year i. e City Game and in Europe and Fabregas as creative mid and Fellini as defensive could be great as it would increase our options and goals from central midfield that is lacking

Agree0 Disagree0

United needs quality if we are to compete in Europe. Look at the money and talent the so called top clubs have spend this summer and sadly are so called great squad looks like will get weaker so the gap is just getting wider!

If we are to have any chance of winning the Champions league we badly need Ronaldo/Fabregas/Fellaini and Baines etc. At 1 point we had a squad to be envied, nearly every position had the best player in the uk and a back up to boot. Yeah it has got harder and the transfer markets are just plain r******* but sadly we got to pay these prices or have some sort of system for getting/retaining the best as kids to save us paying these prices.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought i'd stick my 2p worth in,

Fellaini aka "The Wig" is one of those players who stand out in a standard team - The question we all need to ask is. Is he one of the stand out player who when surrounded by a higher quality of player grow in ability or shy off into obscurity?

Fellaini blows hot and cold for me but the one thing I suspect he'll do if surrounded by better players is step up to the mark.

He was asked to do a different role last year in which he frankly did a brilliant job.

He just doesn't seem a player who is shy about stepping up and being accounted for.

He'll be a good-great signing so long as he holds his own and takes note of the quality players around him.

Monk

Agree1 Disagree0

Monk

He is a massive improvment on fatty arse Anderson and Tom "The Crab" Cleverley.
I think he would do a cracking job breaking down the play.
It would give Carrick anf Fabregas (if we get him) a lot more freedom to push on and create and score.

Simmo

Agree2 Disagree0

Lots of good points made here, fellaini is better and more reliable than half our current midfield but I believe if Rooney goes he has to be replaced by another striker

RedKen

Agree0 Disagree0

jred

Agree0 Disagree0

If Cesc doesn't come to United, which unfortunately I feel he won't, we still need 2 midfielders. Fellaini is one, very versatile and far far better player than Anderson, Cleverley or Giggs. That will still mean we need another creative midfielder and I think Cabaye at the right price 20million to a top offer of 25 million, would be fine. I have a feeling Baines may not come, though if we offer 40m for Fellaini and Baines, Everton may go for the money. We shouldn't sell Rooney to Chelsea or any other top 6 side in the EPL, unless Chelsea swop Mata for him. If he goes We don't really need a striker as we have Chico, Wellbeck to cover RVP and Kagawa, Fellaini if he comes or Zaha can all play in the hole. I'd keep Nani and sell Young instead. We would only be dipping into the wallet for about 25m. That would leave the coffers pretty full for the 100/1 shot of CR7 coming home.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Feilaini isn't a defensive midfielder and he can't track players back he's to slow will you wake up people, he spends half the time fouling players because he is so awkward, his forward passing is diabolical, top midfielders will have a field day!he is so ordinary it's crazy that he is even linked with utd!if he was so so good, why isn't bayern, barca, Madrid, Chelsea or even good dam spurs looking at him?he doesn't know how to play free flowing attacking football!id be sick if we get this jack in the box!

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree he has some good moments on a highlight reel but all because of luck and defender mistakes

he is overated

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez has said that there hasn't been any bids for Feilaini

Agree1 Disagree2

Woodward said that we would be in for the best players and now we are supposed to be close to singing the big lump Fellaini? Haha. sad days.

We need creativity and someone who can make a decisive pass in front of Carrick. Kagawa won't be enough. We don't need a midfielder who puts his elbow in everyones face. If we want to play modern football Fellaini is definitely the wrong player. The 90's are over.
