Was wondering are the Russian league on there end of season break now?
What about a cheeky loan deal for Samuel Eto?
Have always rated him and could do a great job for a couple of months like Larsson did.

Red Daz.

Believable13 Unbelievable8

Good call if we could pull it off. Eto is on mental wages a week (300k I think) so that could be a problem.... HERBIE {Ed002's Note - So would Manchester United loan Rooney to CSKA Moscow over the summer?}

Agree8 Disagree2

Yeah we could pay his 330 k a week wages as well!

tbir.

Agree3 Disagree1

Hence the reason I put "IF we could pull it off", stranger things have happened in life :-).... HERBIE

Agree5 Disagree0

Fairly sure it turned out E'eto isn't getting paid as much as everyone thinks (300k per wk)?

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree4

Your right Ozwald, he isnt getting 300k a week.

Here's a link I found on what he earns at Anzhi, it states 20.5 million euros a year. WOW, were in the wrong job fella's :-)

I know SAF said he says its impossible to bring in quality players in jan transfer window so just a thought wouldnt it have been an idea to sign them in the last transfer window when every red on the planet ould see we needed atleast 2 class midfielders !

NAMELESS CHILD

Believable18 Unbelievable0

After the win against City in the Charity shield (or whatever its called ) and the flying start to the season both Fergie and Gill decided we did'nt need to invest in CM. It's 1 of the few big mistakes Fergie's career. If we had a bad first 2 or 3 games at the start of the season things may have been different. Thats only my opinion though, but it seems about right.... HERBIE

Agree9 Disagree3

It was made worse when cleverley, anderson and fletcher get injured all around the same time aswell.

Agree7 Disagree0

How can you say it is a big mistake we have not even reached the end of the season.

Walrus

Agree9 Disagree2

Its open to debate Walrus but I think it was a mistake not getting 1 or 2 quality CM's in the summer while offloading a couple of CM's, many people on this site would agree and some will disagree but our performances of late will tell you the story, we are short of quality in the centre.... HERBIE

Agree5 Disagree1

Sounds like a like of excuses to an old codger like me...
tel 1949

Agree3 Disagree1

I'd agree it was a mistake HERBIE, but I also think hindsight is a wonderful thing. I think if the right player was available for CM we'd have been in for them, regardless of our performances at the start of the season. But I'd say they did definitely put off any panic buys in my opinion, I think he thought he had time to wait. But as you say, that may well prove an error.

APC

Agree4 Disagree1

What cms did we offload I can only think of Scholes.I do know that our latest performances have been poor of late but real supporters of the team shouldn't get on there back straight away we have to admit that we are in transition at the minute. Trust Sir Alex !

Walrus

Agree6 Disagree1

APC
Thats the thing though... What and who is the right player, when you look at some CM's thats been bought from other teams for less than £10 milion who have turned out quality buys. How long do we have to wait for the right player to come along, the targets may not become available. Where's plan B.

Walrus
We tried to sell Gibson to Sunderland I believe but apparantly his wage demands nipped it in the bud, I do trust in Fergie, he has never let us down but I'm thinking that maybe his hands are tied by the Glazers financially (hope I'm proved wrong), If this is the case then where do we go from here? Football has moved on in the last few years and we need to move with it or it could backfire on us.

HERBIE

Agree6 Disagree0

We needed some quality in midfield last season never mind this one.
johndenton

Agree6 Disagree0

HERBIE

I completely agree mate, I'm pulling my hair out wondering who exactly is the right midfielder... that's what I'm saying, I don't think there is a plan B which is a mistake. I mean, let's say Fergie wanted Sneijder or Modric (purely for examples sake). I think we went for WS and for whatever reason that never happened, so we looked into Nasri because he became available and Modric was a no-go. When Nasri chose City I think Fergie decided stubbornly that we'd be ok until he could sort out a deal for Modric (again only using Modric as an example player).

This is all purely speculation, but that's what I believe happened, or something along those lines. To be honest the whole thing should have been dealt with a couple of seasons ago.

APC

Agree1 Disagree0

What I think is that Sir Alex is buying time for his academy kids to mature.the same reason why berbatov's contract is allowed to enter its final year.

In the striking department he's waiting on kiko and mame to prove themselves on loan.which i think kiko might be a very useful player in a year or two.

in the midfield department we have so many kids coming through.the likes of pogba and morrison, whom we are going to see alot of next season if they decide to stay. there is also tunicliffe who i saw playing against sunderland and thought there is a very bright future for that boy too.

hopefully it works out for the long term future of the club.

but that's only my opinion....

Mr. Fox (Zambia)

Well I guess that answers my question of "Where's plan B" :-) .... HERBIE

Fergie is indeed interested Lampard,he is now prepared to watch what is taking place at Chelsea till the end of january, any shaking,he will quickly move in to snap him, yesterday's statements were to cool off things.....,so Edd watch the space

Believable7 Unbelievable15

You're just reading from an article on some website, you may as well of just linked it. Lol
Lampard is not going anywhere. Scholes is more likely to come out of retirement than us miraculously sining Lampard.

Kaka...
not playing regularly in real madrid
i know mourinho said he still has a role
but he's a first team starter and needs regular football
why doesn't SAF go for him...
before he goes to PSG..

Believable20 Unbelievable10

I know hes not as old as giggs rio but his experience could really help cleverley pogba and morrison develop in the same position

Agree5 Disagree0

He's only 29. I wonder if he would be available on loan initially? He would be a great influence on the younger players. Ryan

There must be some truth to this rooney leaving rumour otherwise why would united issue a statement on transfer speculation when they haven't in the past.

I know he is are best player but if it starts interfering with the team then sell him, to be honest I get sick of his antics and I am not one of those fans who just ignores what a player is doing cos he's valuable to the team, he is replaceable.

On another note if fergie doesn't buy in jan then he has given up on the title, cos spurs, chelsea, city will all strengthen, it's not just the last two results it's the style of football we play the constant rotation ( you can only do this if you have a top quality squad ) and the champions league exit in a group we should have won.

Believable13 Unbelievable8

Nonsense, United had no choice but to comment on this speculation. It would damage team morale if left to fester and it could also cause a lot of unnecessary worry amongst fans. I would be far more worried if United never released a statement, now that they have we can relax.

No matter what anyone puts on here this dude just shoots everyone down, are you sure he is not malcolm glazer ed. {Ed007's Note - How, who are you?}

Agree4 Disagree4

I thought this was a site where you could banter and voice your opinions? Matey posted his opinion and I gave my opinion, what is the problem with that?

Sydney!

Agree11 Disagree1

Dont get me wrong I wouldnt want Rooney to leave, however if it benefits the squad better then we might have to go that way as the yanks arent going to finace any big deals...Dont forget SAF also said he wouldnt sell a virus to Real then 6 months later sold CR7..So sometimes no smoke without fire.

Agree3 Disagree2

I Think the sale of Cristiano became out of SAFs hands considering the player was a close freind and really wanted the move plus the mega money involved. The Glazers already had their pants round their ankles in celebration.

Ozwald

Agree3 Disagree3

Ronaldo, SAF, Gill, Glazers and most fans knew Ronaldo was being sold in the summer of 2009. He promised one more year. The not selling RM a virus palava was no more than United driving up the price.

Ravel Morrison and Jonny Evans both trained today, both returning from injuries. So they will not be far away. This means Jones back to midfield? And Morrison given a chance?

Sydney!

Believable13 Unbelievable5

Not saying you're wrong, but how do you know this? Are you actually someone who's knowledgeable about UTD

Agree4 Disagree1

A mate of mine is at Carrington now. I trust his eyesight enough to post it on this page. I am not saying they are over their injuries, just that they are training with uninjured players.

Sydney!

Agree6 Disagree4

Can't wait till Evans is back, he's much more solid than Jones for the moment. Hope Morrison is given his chance, he'll offer something new and it might finally get rid of those rumours about his departure.

Percy

Agree5 Disagree6

Its obvious first chance united get Jones will be back in midfield we are completely lacking any drive or energy in there without him.
On Morrison I doubt it Syd I would love to see him given a chance but Fergie seems dead against giving him or Pogba any chance this season IMO.

Devil Dust.

Agree6 Disagree1

Great news about Morrison. Let's hope the kid gets a chance. I follow him on twitter and the other day he just had "Done". Now I know this could mean anything but loads of United fans commenting saying what you done, hope nothing stupid, have you signed a new contract etc. now more then likely it means nothing but just on the off chance was wondering if you'd heard any whispers Syd or Eds?

Agree3 Disagree0

I think when he Tweeted "Done", he meant the installation had finally installed. Apparently it took hours.

Sydney!

Agree3 Disagree1

How much football do you honestly see pogba & morrison getting unless they go out on loan??
our next 8 games are against..

city
arsenal
chelsea
liverpool
ajax x 2
stoke & bolton

so unless they play a part in the stoke & bolton games then will they play at all this season as come the end of the above run we should have everyone back fit and fighting.......

I really hope they are given an opportunity but after seeing what has happened so far this season i can not see it at the minute.... just hope they both sign contract extensions and then show us more next season

oxred...

Agree3 Disagree0

I reckon Bolton and Ajax are possibilities.

thanks {Ed002's Note - Yes. But before you ask, I don't know who.}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Ok thanks ed

Agree1 Disagree1

Where they getting the money from?? no chance of buying anyone utd are going backwards fast and its not going to be arrested by new players! we have to rely on all the old players somehow getting us out of it! dont hold your breaths your go very blue!

have just heard off a mate linked with utd and from ireland like myself that the world class player fergie is in for is schweinsteiger. hes in contact with bayern but they are not willing to sell their best player, if they show the slightest weakness fergie is supposedly willing to open the cheque book.... i hope so. great all round centre mid.

roesaysgo

Believable11 Unbelievable7

Fergi should go again for Sejider!!

Agree3 Disagree9

Im sorry but this is like Bayern trying to sign a 26 year old Ryan Giggs or Paul Scholes.......i.e they cant and wont. Bastian is 100% a munich lad. He will retire with them and become another player in a huge line of legends for that club. If anyone thinks for one second that he would leave, Bayern would let him leave and that we are going to be buying him then your deluded...........

Agree9 Disagree1

I heard schweinsteiger's brother is a crazy united fan. But sneijder is more possible deal than schweinsteiger cos its near impossible to get a german player away from bayern munich.

Agree5 Disagree1

Rooney for Schweinsteiger? Both are just about the best at their position, although Bastian is better in his, because he doesn't have someone like Messi blocking him.

Percy

My brothers a crazy united fan too, does this mean they will be trying to sign me? Jaxer

Real will come in for Rooney but not till the summer £60 mill but City will gazzump any offer. I dont think he would settle abroad, will only leave if SAF can spend the fee on the rebuild of the squad.

Rooney to go is nonsense he's just tweeted saying he's totally committed to united and his foreseeable future is at united

Believable10 Unbelievable5

However, i believe that if a player is not happy playing at manchester united then they should leave

Rooney has put on Twitter that anyone who says he is leaving or he wants to leave or that he has fallen out with Fergie is lying he is happy at the club and his future is with United.

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Rooney will be a red devil all his career. I say that but when SAF leaves everything could go t!ts up

Ozwald

Agree5 Disagree7

I don't see Rooney leaving us at all, especially for Madrid. I believe as does most of the lads who I sit with at OT that there's already an agreement in place with Jose Mourinhio, and that's why fergie has his hands tied regards spending cause they know they need a massive transfer pot for Jose.
