Kloop has confirmed that lewandowski will join Munich in 2014.
Well that's another rumour put to bed

'Confirm' is a little too strong word to say, when Summer transfer has just started and there is 1 year left to go.

It may not be 100% yet RumourNo. 1, but it looks like he is very determined to join BM and I think BvB will accept a BM offer this summer.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

Hey Syd, I got the impression that Klopp seemed to be be determined to keep him until end of the contract unless they find the right substitute for Lewandowski, simply because they need to be able to compete against BM next season.
RumourNo. 1

Agree1 Disagree0

According to Raphael Honigstein BvB will stand firm and not sell him to BM this summer. But I think the real reason is down to BM not offering enough cash to get him this summer and them willing to wait until next summer to get him. I think BM will get him this summer and it will be for a cheap fee.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Its quite obvious that bvb just won't sell their two best players to munich in one summer window, its been no secret that lewy has had some sort of agreement with munich for months, bvb will not let him go this summer no matter what, they don't need the cash they have the largest average gate in europe.

Agree0 Disagree1

Mick, I think £20m now is better than £0m in 12 months time. Can BvB be sure Lewandowski would play to the best of his ability if he remained at the club? BvB are not desperate for cash, but they are not flush with cash either. They may have 80,000 crowd, but season tickets are dirt cheap in Germany. I think they will agree a deal during this window, but that's just my opinion.

Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree0

Sorry Sydney but I thit you underestimate German stubbornness. They are more likely to leave him languishing in reserves untill Jan when he will take a move anywhere, and sell him for 7-10m to England, Spain or Italy, rather than see him go to Bayern.

Agree0 Disagree0

No name poster, Sydney has got it more or less right the situation with RL favours him, he has all the power considering the length of time left on his contract and how will BVB sell him to England when he plainly doesn't want to move here. BVB have 2 choices sell him to Bayern or let him leave for nothing in a year!

What I find a little odd is that it has been suggested that RL has signed an agreement with bayern. Surely that means he has been tapped up? You can negotiate with a player in the same league without the owning clubs consent. Why have Dortmund not reported bayern to uefa?

Agree0 Disagree0

Had not seen this topic and posted on the banter page that all the dortmund posturing in my view is hot air. Before the close of the window he will be gone, they just spend 40 million on 2 strikers. I am also with Sydney on this, they want bayern to cough up a lot of dough and probably not getting it.

I think they will get that from other clubs but it looks like his agent has agreed to a deal and the player wants to move to Bayern.

Shahram

Didn't realise I'd forgotten to put my name to that. My point was that if they don't give him any first team action, by January he may be willing to go somewhere other than Bayern just to get first team football, thus moving in January.

Well really my point was that my wife is German and I know a lot of her German friends, and I don't think most English people realize just how bloody stubborn they can be if you piss them off.

Also, Bayern will most likely strengthen up front this summer, especially with Gomez leaving, so they may well have lost interest by next summer. Dortmund will realize this, and will probably point it out to lewandoski to encourage him to accept another move.

i got told today that a possible reason for the hold up on garay (apparently deal sorted a while ago) is due to utd wanting to do a double deal for gaitan too (40m for both)
some may know of my support for gaitan and I believe he would be an excellent signing, this would def signal the end for nani who (if you believe the paper's) is off to roma

Believable20 Unbelievable33

Can't see Roma paying what Nani would ask for considering his displays for the last two seasons.

Juventus is more likely IMO.

Gaitan isn't worth over 20m, may as well add a couple of million more and go for De Maria, or better still try and get Draxler who at 19 is already streets better than Gaitan and a little better tan De Maria. Draxler is the CR7 of the future.

If Sunderland do sign Giaccherini, which is unlikely in my opinion, then I can see Juventus coming in for him.

I would love to see draxler at united, but schalke have said he is not for sale and with a buyout clause of around £38m I suspect he is outside of our price range. Low £30's seems to be our max.

Agree1 Disagree1

Neither Gaitan or Garay are anywhere near good enough for us
Surely if Gaitan was any good then he would've left Benfica by the age of 25/26
Garay wouldn't cut it in England with his lack of pace and he always has that one mistakein him
Plus spending £40m on the two would be a joke neither are even worth £10m IMO

Agree2 Disagree2

Have to agree. neither are good enough to play for utd, let alone with us paying 40m for them. hopefully this is one of the many bad rumours that are popping up lately on this site

Agree1 Disagree0

Both players are class garay is a beast of a center half even if we don't sign either they are very good players non the less katef

Agree0 Disagree2

Gaitan would be an improvement on Nani but we should be looking for better.

Problem is, who is better that's available? Di Maria isn't much better than Nani either, missed out on Rodriguez and Goetze, draxler too expensive.

I really think we should have been in for Isco, but too late now.

If we are getting garay for 16-18m then that would be 22-24m for gaitan which, I believe, he is currently valued at, so thought rumour may be genuine.
gaitan is a big improvement on nani and would be able to drift in (swapping with kagawa, confusing op's defence) as can also play in the middle of an attacking 3 along with kagawa and thiago or if width is needed valencia (with thiago in centre if kags is injured/ rested). young may be sold but if not can see him spending a lot of time on the bench as zaha (if not loaned) would prob be picked ahead for his energy/ impact
