They had a journalist from the times (i think) on talksport, he was talking about dealings at chelsea, and he was 100% confident that they had spoke to spurs about modric but were told he was not for sale, with chelsea's financial muscle would i be wrong in thinking we would miss out? if he was to force a move. tom17

I've just learned that Danielle De Rossi only has 1 year left on his contract. A meeting was to be held by himself and Roma to discuss a new contract but the meeting was scrapped and De Rossi wasn't happy about the meeting being scrapped. United and Madrid are monitoring the situation.

Come on Fergie, sign him up!

3 Realistic Signings
1. De Gea
2. Young
3. Modric

4. Sneijder- Would come if he didn't have such a high salary. Could we offer up Nani?
5. Sanchez- Might favor Barcelona but MU can offer a better deal and maybe a player. SAF wants Sanchez

Who else to look for- Varane, Torres, Rodwell, Nasri, Kagawa.

I'm pretty sure at least 4 players or more will be signed.

I think de gea and young are tied on. They will cost us around 35 million so I really can't see any 'big names' being brought on on top of that.
I expect a couple of smaller/lesser known signings. SAFs speach about the emphasis being on youth is an indicator.

LATEST NEWS ON THE SANCHEZ SAGA! !
SOURCE: GOAL.COM
Alexis Sanchez has agreed personal terms with Barcelona, claims Udinese president Franco Soldati, just 24 hours after he said the Catalans were in pole position for the Chilean's signature.

The deal will be based on a 3 million per annum contract, but Soldati insists it does not mean a move is finalised as the two clubs have yet to agree a fee. Nonetheless, Udinese will not stand in Sanchez's way as he seeks a move to the European champions.

"From what we were told by the player's agent Fernando Felicevich, Alexis Sanchez has an agreement with Barcelona for a contract worth 3m a season. This does not necessarily mean he will go, but it is what the player wants, " Soldati said, according to Chilean source La Tercera.

"We hope to fulfil the player's wish, but I don't think negotiations will be finalised until at least the end of June."

Udinese have set their price for Sanchez, in excess of 30m, and the attacker will not move unless Barca match the club's valuation.

"Sanchez's yes [to Barcelona] does not mean a yes from Udinese, " he disclosed.
"These are two different things. We will begin talks with Barcelona and we will not stop them from speaking with the player. But we are just starting with the talks.

"If they pay us what we want then there will be no problems, but we are yet to speak about this. For the moment Barcelona are favourites to land Sanchez ahead of Juventus and Inter. These are the three clubs that are close to him, but nothing has been sealed yet in regards to a move.

"Again, this is just the start of things, but we want to finish negotiations by the end of the month. The player's opinion obviously counts, but there are other things we need to look at.

"In any case we are optimistic all will end well."
I guess that's probably the end on this topic what do u think eds?
BERBATUDE {Ed007's Note - I always thought he was out of our reach so always classed him as a player I would love to get but doubted we would. Maybe look towards Hazard now?}

The current stories coming from Italy are that Barcelona have offered 30 million Euro plus Bojan for Sanchez, but that a) Bojan probably doesn't want to move to Udine and b) that Udinese wouldn't want him because of his high wages (around £55k per week currently).

Aston Villa have reluctantly allowed ambitious winger Ashley Young to move on in his quest to play regular Champions League football.

The deal for the forward, who has only one more year on his Villa Park contract, will be sealed in the next 48 hours.

Young, 25 whose value has more than doubled since he moved to the Midlands from Watford in January 2007 has agreed a four-year contract.

From The Daily Star.
