Evening guys. I'm still happy from the CTR news and will continue to be so. Better than anything.
On a different note, went out for a do tonight and van gaal was there. The story is that both united and spurs have sounded him out, but he's leaning to spurs as he thinks we need major rebuilding and he's not sure the money is there.
Don't shoot the messenger. I'm only saying what I've heard.

My dog barks when utd are on but since moyes took over he lies with his paws over his eyes I have started to do the same

Apparently Barca are willing to listen to offers for Song.

A good back up option if we are not able to land our first choice targets.

Believable10 Unbelievable9

He would only cost around £10m I'd imagine. As he can play CB he wouldn't be a terrible option as long as we signed a top notch midfielder as well. It could mean only needing to buy one CB though, so it could be a good idea.

Agree1 Disagree3

He would be a brilliant option if we Gundogan or Kroos as well. As Syd says, his ability to cover at CB is helpful and he is far better than Fletcher, Cleverley and probably Fellaini too.

Agree1 Disagree3

Song would be a welcome addition to our squad. Does anyone remember how well him and RVP linked at Arsenal together? Some of the assists between those two ware phenominal!

Agree1 Disagree3

Why would we won't a arsenal outcast who can not get in the brca side sounds to me like choosing cheap crap options

Agree3 Disagree1

I wouldn't want him at utd, good enough to get in the team now yes but never a Manchester United player in a million years, we need world class players not somebody elses cast offs!

Agree4 Disagree1

Are you lot for real?
You can forget about winning titles and CL football if Alex Song is the pinnacle of our transfer ambitions.

Agree0 Disagree1

But it's what Moyes does, he buys has bend or people who don't start at their current club anymore

Hi ed2,

You may have covered this but I noticed you said we shouldn't hold our breath over signing Kroos or Gundagon, who would you say we are realistically looking at for MF.

Ps. very happy to hear the good news concerning CTR all the best pal!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in both, but I suspect there is a major chance that neither will happen.}

United needs Reus, Draxler or Thauvin and Zouma. not Gündogan or Kroos. They will be the same as Kagawa. He was a mistake from Alex, they would be mistake from Moyes.

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea won't be selling Zouma just yet.}

Syd, interesting post about who you think the targets are. I for one totally agree with all of them. But two things, do you think RVP will still be here next season and secondly, if we get Kroos will we go for Gundogan as well? I for one am undecided about this.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Right now I would not hold your breath over Kroos.}

I think Van Persie will stay regardless of what he wants for one more season. As I said in another post, we have too much work to do to start looking for a top striker too. I think it would be Kroos or Gundogan, not both. I think we will still look at Vidal in the summer, but I think Gundogan is more likely at this point in time.

Agree1 Disagree0

You expect him to stay then ed? What about out interest in Gundogan - is he looking the likelier / likeliest out of our targets?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Kroos might well stay but there is also interest from elsewhere. I would not hold your breath over Gundogan.}

Ed, so what midfielder do you think is the best option? I thought it would be one of Carvalho, Kroos, Gundogan or Vidal. Sorry to ask.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The "best" option would in my view be Vidal, but he is also probably the least likely. There is interest in Carvalho as I have explained, but he is really pricey.}

Yes, I would of thought Vidal is the 'best' option, but by best I meant the player that you think would be most likely to come? The papers seem to think that it will be one of Gundogan or Kroos but you have explained that this is not the case.

So who is most likely?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer "most likely" questions. I can tell you where there is interest in a player and I can tell you if other clubs are interested or if there are issues that would make it unlikely it will happen.}

@Ed002

Any info on outogoings from United? Particularly Kagawa and Hernandez?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing new really. It is no secret that Inter want Kagawa, that Evra will be leaving, that Ferdinand's time may be up, that Vidic will leave and that Spurs, Roma and Valencia will be interested in Hernandez if he becomes available.}

Are Dortmund interested in taking Kagawa back Ed?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Dortmund? Not that I am aware.}

I think all of the above names will leave. Kagawa can't get a look in and neither can Hernandez - I really like both but both should leave for the sake of their own careers.

Agree2 Disagree0

It is unbelievable that we would get rid of these two players.
feel sorry that Moyes hasn't played them more. Those 2 will start at many other clubs

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed 002, would you happen to know if a Kagawa Kovacic swap deal would interest both parties?

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I wouldn't think there is any chance of that happening at all.}

It depends on whether Kagawa and Hernandez value their careers more than money. It maybe better for them to stay at MU for financially, but better for them to move for their careers. We will see what happens, but some players don't mind sitting on the bench if they are getting big money. Although neither of these players strikes me as greedy players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd, I'd say that both players value their careers more and will therefore leave - I will be very sad to see them go though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fresh, Hernandez had a chance to leave last summer, but opted not to.
