They raised the tax this year ed. I think it comes into effect this january. I was mentioning about it being a major reason for english clubs not making signings for the last three or four windows and getting beaten to signings by real and barca. Also the tax thing will be a major influence behind villa joining barca. We will see a level playing field next summer. I do not know how taxing works but i think the players who signed contracts earlier will be unaffected by raised tax rates in spain.

Also the generous loans given to spanish clubs at unreal interest rates by spanish banks completely destabilize the market. Can you imagine a bank giving arsenal, chelsea or united 300mil loan for a spending spree like real got? Or the 140mil loan barcelona got? I don't think there will be a bank in britain which will offer those at those interest rates. It basically is like a capital injection into the company. {ed's note - you mean like the 300m+ loan that Roman gave Chelsea at 0% interest?}

Heres an odd one i heard today, apparently united are seriously considering making a bid for asmir begovic of stoke i'm not sure weather that's to be our new number 1 or our new back up keeper, i rate him as a solid keeper but not world class yet. I was wondering wat you guys think of this? P.s don't shoot the messenger.
