Question for Ed02 if about today? I know you hear questions like this from Liverpool fans almost on a daily basis, but do you know what the situation is with Ravel Morrison? SAF said he needed to get him out of Manchester and instead of selling him for millions to Newcastle, he sold him for thousands to WHU. My question is, is there a buyback clause for him to go back to MU at a later date? Or do MU have first option on him? Or is there a sell on fee like the Tom Ince situation? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - I will explain as best I can. Someone has perhaps misled you over the Newcastle offer, but West Ham offered more cash (a little under £700k before a number of add ons and agent fees which I understand were split between the clubs). Critically, they accepted the inclusion of a sell on clause in the contract. I have no idea of the format of the clause. There will not be any of the buy-back, first-option and other nonsense clauses that folks think are common.}

Thanks Ed. Appreciate the reply. Why do you say critically? And do you know the percentage in the sell on fee? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Manchester United were asking for a sell on fee. I don't know the format of the clause as I said, but it will likely be a sliding scale rather than a fixed percentage.}

Oops, sorry Ed I have just noticed you said you do not know the format of the clause. Sorry.

Ed, in your personal opinion do you ever see a way that Ravel might come back to united? {Ed002's Note - I am not a fortune teller and cannot tell you where he will be playing in 2021.}

Right Ed, I just didn't know how bad the manner in which he left was and how seriously the club think he'd be affected and tempted into old ways were he to move back here. {Ed002's Note - I would not think the club is having any thoughts about him at all. You have MOTD fever.}

Common Ed, Ravel is a top top talent. I've thought that for years. {Ed002's Note - You are living in a fantasy land here.}

It happened with Fabregas at Barca. If the club don't see him going back to old ways then I don't see why he shouldn't be as much of a midfield target as any other player in the world.

Ravel might be a top player but the baggage is not what we need at OT

If we're going to save money on scouting by watching ex players on MOTD then Robbie Brady is worth a look ;-)

Note to people considering a rude response, please consider if I am serious or not.

Ravel has a buy out clause for 19 million which Big Sam is trying to get rid of by offering him a contract .

Does the clause we have in his contract disappear if he signs a new contract with West Ham Ed? {Ed002's Note - If there is a clause relating to a sell on fee then it stays unless it is negotiated away (as was Bale's one for the Soton - Spurs transfer for example.}.

Right thanks Ed. I'm guessing this is a buy out clause and not a termination/release clause so VAT etc and other costs would push it up quite a bit? {Ed002's Note - No of course it isn't. I think folks are getting very confused about clauses, and seemingly taxes as well. Manchester United were simply looking for a sell on fee (probably on a sliding scale) - that is it. No more, no less.}
