....with RVP going to Real .....Alex Song will be another disallusioned at Arsenal....snap him up !

Believable7 Unbelievable46

What Evidence do you base that on?

They've got Benzema who can't stop scoring and Higuain who's scored 20 in 21....

RVP loves Arsenal more than Cesc and previous players I think he'll do the right thing and sign another contract.

That's the best thing that can happen IMO, well he could always sign for us ;).

The Moon.

Agree0 Disagree0

He won't go to Madrid, if anything it will be us or City I think. I'd love him here nevertheless. If they don't qualify for the CL and make some good signings in summer then that could change.

Could you imagine a summer where we get Modric and van Persie? Amazing.

AV7

Agree0 Disagree0

RVP I think will sign a new contract at Arsenal. They'll be title contenders next season if they spend the money they have been given and if they can keep the squad fit.

Podolski looks set to join in the summer and Arsene Wenger is hoping to land one of Eden Hazard or Mario Gotze. Not sure on the out-goings for Arsenal this season but I'd say Arshavin looks to be one.

Agree0 Disagree0

R.V.P will not be joining real madrid or any other club for that matter..the moon is very correct

Agree0 Disagree0

No! Alex Song gives the ball away too much. There's always a mistake in him.

Rooney's Left Foot

Agree0 Disagree0

I do not rate Song at all. It's probably why AW is looking at M'Vila to improve the side. Arsenal will not sign either of Goetze or Hazard, they are both well above their price range, almost double their price range. I also see RVP leaving in the summer too.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Song is fairly average, he can tackle, but his passing is poor. Gilly

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd mate, where do you see as a likely destination for RVP? I know SAF said he wanted to sign him when he was at Feyernood, would obviously have to pay a lot to get him for ourselves even though he's probably a bit older than what we'd be looking at? But RVP wants trophies and he knows the PL well, which would appeal to SAF also. Or is it just too far fetched? I can only imagine what a front pairing of Rooney and RVP would be like. Real and Barca don't need him while i highly doubt RVP would want a move to Serie A or Bundseliga..

Ozwald {Ed004's Note - Man City look likely to be selling Balotelli, Tevez and possibly Dzeko. Therefore they will be in the window for a striker}

Agree0 Disagree0

Has everyone completley forgot how injury prone he is! Why would we want to pay top
Wack for a striker that is likely to miss half the season laid on the treatment table. In my eyes would be the best striker in the world i he could just stay fit donny red

Agree0 Disagree0

I see him moving to City for a massive final pay day, although he will say it's for the chance to win trophies. If he isn't too fussed about the cash, but badly wants trophies then I think a move to us wouldn't be completely out of the question if we were interested in him. We would pay him £150k a week plus bonuses and we can offer trophies. City can offer more cash and possibly trophies. It all boils down to what is most important to him. More cash or more chance of trophies. He will not get a lot of cash at Arsenal and he is not going to win titles there either so I think he will move. That's my personal opinion. He has been dodging contract talks for 18 months now. I also believe Podolski is his replacement. He will be 29 at the start of next season so it wouldn't be a bad age for us, it would be a good stop gap until Keane/Welbeck are ready. One thing that does worry me is his poor injury record and his age. Getting a bad injury when near thirty can be damaging for a striker. But I guess this will be evaluated in his transfer fee. We would never get into a bidding war with City so he would have to be 100% committed to joining us before we moved for him. If he was to tell Arsenal he will not sign a new deal and that he wants to join United and nobody else, I think the fee would be little of £20m due to his age and injury record, Arsenal's board will not be able to turn it down just like they wouldn't have turned down Nasri's move to us if he said he would only sign for us. So I am not sure what he will do, but in my opinion I think he will be a City player with perhaps Dzeko being offered in a swap? If not then straight cash for around £25m.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Idd Sydney, all Arsenal players retire to Sh*tty for a massive pay day

Agree0 Disagree0

It amazes me to hear your deluded opinions. Arsene will not sell to ManUnited, he would rather sell to City. Unless you offer silly money, it will never happen its all dreamland stuff.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think RVP is the kind of player that puts money ahead of football considering how long he's stayed at a relatively low paying club such as Arsenal. This year again has highlighted that the place to be, if he wanted trophies is MUFC so personally i would be surprised to see him move to City. But then again i've been surprised by a few moves this season.. Also i know he's had pretty bad injuries before especially with his hamstring, but this year he's been terrific carrying the whole team most of the season and hasn't got injured. Baring in mind at MUFC he could be rested more with a view of giving Welbeck and Hernandez more playing time. It would also take the burden off of Rooney slightly to produce something spectacular as this is often what RVP does for Arsenal. With us getting rid of Berbatov, he could take his place? Only £50k a week's more wages than Berba..

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

If rvp leaves arsenal I doubt it would be to another PL club. I think he will sign a new contract, as arsenal will look to strengthen the squad this summer, which will probably be enough for him to stay.

Agree0 Disagree0

'Oz'

To be fair this is the only season RVP has been a wanted man. So what other opportunities has he had to chase the money?

'no name'

If RVP was to say he would only sign for United, then AW would be powerless to stop it. Kroenke would never lose him for free when he could pocket £20m a year earlier. The only reason we never signed Nasri was because he was open to other offers.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

RVP is too much of a risk, he is nearly 30, would not be sold for at least 25 million, and would probably be injured for some part of next season. why not spend a bit more and get either higuain, cavani or lavezzi.
duggo {Ed004's Note - Would love to get Higuain. He would easily score 20 + goals a season in the pl and so does Rooney so that is a strike partnership hitting near 50 goals a season in the Pl along with Welbeck and Hernandez who would both get around 10 each.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Me too, rooney and higuain would be scary, we'd be back up there with the best strike partners in the world! higuain would give us that crossing in threat that we need too, as most of our attacks come from our wingers. do you think he would be available to get though, and if so, how much do you think? cheers
duggo {Ed004's Note - Ed 2 has stated that Higuain was offered to Chelsea in January for 48 million euro's. Now I believe he could be got for a lot less probably around 30 million pounds. And Fergie has spent that on strikers in the past and bid that on Benzema a few years back so isn't out of the question}

Agree0 Disagree0

So we could get higuain for the same amount of money we paid for barbatov? sounds like a no brainer to me! hope fergie realises this.
duggo {Ed004's Note - I don't know if we could, just what I think we could end up paying. He is also very young at 24.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I cant beleive hes only 24 i thort he was older he seems to of been arond ages and looks alot older hes some player love to see him on the end of r slick 1 2s. But how do u rate are chances! donny red

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Apr 2012 23:23:31
Good game today, we had a lot of the ball, and a lot of shots, but we could hardly score. We need another centre mid, and I would prefer Martinez, solid and consistent. We probably need another forward, Cavani I hope, as he is top class and consistent. Maybe Nathan Clyne as well. Gilly

Believable12 Unbelievable8

This has been the case for a few years now......cant see any top marque sigining me self :(

"No Value in the market" will come out again!

Agree0 Disagree0

SAF cant use that one again every1 nos theres quality out there we just need the yanks to get there finger out there arses and into there wallets donny red

Agree0 Disagree0

The "No Value in the market" wasn't used last summer, so why would it be used this summer after the manager has openly said there are a few players that he wants to sign?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you blame the owners when they have ALWAYS backed Fergy? do you not remember how much we spent last summer?
as for the game, what we are lacking is people willing to shoot from outside the box! this has been the case many times this season. Until Scholes finally got one off Carrick then had a go. we need a player who's willing to have a pop more often.

melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

Am i the only one who thinks martinez is not the answer to our problems? to me, he isnt the type of player who carves open a defence, such as modric or david silva! im not saying we dnt need him, but we need a more attacking midfielder first.
duggo {Ed004's Note - Rooney is a brilliant attacking midfielder and Cleverley is very creative. Look at the difference Scholes has made too our attack with his range of passing and Martinez's passing is similar to that. He not only protects the defence brilliantly but his passing is like Alonso's and he easily links attacks and defence. Also extremely useful for set pieces. His passing may not be as good as Scholes atm but the way in which he uses the ball is similar to Scholes atm.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's not be that team that complains about how little they have to spend! We're Man United and always spend a good amount of dosh.
These complaints remind me of Mancini claiming that his squad was too small!
M.D.

Agree0 Disagree0

As i said ed, i woul love him in our team, but i would also like to see someone who can run with the ball and take a player on every so often, not sure who we could get though. I know rooneys good at it, but i like too see him further up the field!

Would anybody take Vincent Kompany if he were available this summer?

#ags 19

Believable35 Unbelievable9

Any day, in my opinion he's currently the best centre half in the world. he's got the best of both worlds too...He's the tough guy CB but he can also play the ball and read the game.

It's a toss up between him and Vidic but I think Kompany has it all. Althoug he wouldn't be available simply because he's not at City for the money, he's grown to love the club and I can see him being there for years to come.

Model professional and a top bloke IMO.

The Moon.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would take him but city won't sell him to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally, I think he would be the perfect replacement for Puyol at Barca.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pique and kompany at centre back for barca would be scary!! Hes a class defender, but vidic still when hes in form has no equal in my opinion!

Agree0 Disagree0

Vidic is a better defender than Kompany, Arsenal could have scored 5/6 quite easily yesterday if Walcott, Ramsey & RVP done better. I rate him better than Pique, a lot better in fact, but he isn't as good as Vidic. It's easy to forget how good Vidic is when he isn't playing, it's amazing how people quickly forget a player when they are injured. I do not see why City would want to sell Kompany, why Kompany would want to leave and why anybody would think Kompany would be available in the summer. He will not be available, City will not want to sell, he will not want to leave so it's a pointless discussion IMO. He is a top centre-back, top five in the world, but he will never be a United player.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't need a CB. I think Evans has come of age and we have jones smalling rio and the rock. We do need a LB CM and Striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd, Although I think Kompany is slightly better than Vidic, one of my main reasons for saying that is because if you put Vidic against pace he's all over the place, Messi has proven than, Torres has proven that and various other forwards have also proven that.

I think he can be argued as the best in the world but people can also be fooled into thinking players are the best when they haven't seen them play for so long so don't by any means think that Vidic doesn't have his flaws.

The Moon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hands down, i haven't seen anyone take so much pleasure from an amazing tackle as Vidic, he's such a tough lad will battle for anything. Honestly think he is the best CB in the world, like Syd was saying bet half the people here have just forgotten his dominance in defence for us since he's been injured. The only other top world class player we have besides Rooney.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Vidic and Evans will be first choice next season, with Rio more in rotation/back-up role.
As long as Evans maintains his form!

I love Kompany. One of the few City players I respect totally.

M.D.

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Kompany, but he has his flaws too mate. Yesterday City could have conceded five.

with mancini saying balotelli is likely to be sold and wont play again this season does anyone thing he is worth a 20m bid? if anyone can control him it's SAF

Believable10 Unbelievable65

I think that wdnt be a bad idea, SAF would nock the cocky/badboy nonsens out of him and make him a worldclass striker. kaylem1300

Agree0 Disagree0

No no no!

So overrated in my opinion.

Ricky T

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't wany him the same as we didn't wany Morrison. We are too good a club to have idiots like them !! I can't believe you have even considered it !

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't want Balotelli anywhere near Old Trafford, wouldn't be worthy of the jersey....any team signing him are 'desperate' and lack self respect / class in my opinion...just like the 'boy' himself

Agree0 Disagree0

He's an person essentially, and he's got a screw lose.

He has too big of an ego, him and saf would be like smashing bricks together.

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be as idiotic at United as he has been at City. He is not serious enough about football. In the summer I would have said yes lets go for him, but after what he has admitted to doing at his mansion, not even our manager could control him. He wants to join AC Milan, but he will be as idiotic there too. Besides City would NEVER sell a player to us, you can forget about that.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree syd, he will end up back in Italy for a year n then probably end up playing in Greece or Turkey for the rest of his career. Brilliant player but far too much of an idiot.

Big Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't have him simply because of the things he does which lets himself down, he's great to read about but only because he's not a United player.

Ignore the antics and you'll see a quality player who has the potential to be world class, however his behavior for me, out shines his current ability. I can see him at either Chelsea or back in Italy by the start of next season though.

No doubt he's talented but he's also a t**t.

The Moon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt have him given to us. Absolute idiot. Im suprised its taken mancini so long to tire of him.

Parks

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would u whant such a foolish player at united

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't want anything to do with a player who would intentionally jeopardise another player's career.

They're cracking up!

MSJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are we even talking about this? first someone asks about Kompany, now Mario, are these City people trying to help offload people by any chance...
just a thought, why don't we keep and go for players who actually want to play for the club

melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

Never heard a dafter comment in all my life, surely you cant be a man utd fan if youd like us to be humiliated as man city are at the moment
duggo

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree with The Moon!

M.D.

Agree0 Disagree0

The clue's in the name. It's Man UNITED, not Man DIVIDED.

Next you'll be suggesting we sign other model pros like Carroll, or perhaps we should take Tevez back? Both will be available at a knock down price in the summer.

To any of eds,

I just wanna know your opinion of our chances of signing following players.

Eden Hazard
Javi Martinez
James Rodriguez (Personally i would prefer Gotze insted but he will be impossible to get)
Nathaniel Clyne

Personally, i think we dont need likes of Modric, Sneijder, Van Persi, Huntelaar, Higuain... cuz SAF is building a young team that would play together for many more seasons to come. So those 4 signings would be just amazing for me personally! Maybe if we add Ericksen and Leandro Damiao to that list, then we dont need to spend big for next couple of years. I know that it is nearly impossible to get all of them but hopes up! And i know that to get them we need to reshape the current squad. what do u think?

KGman {Ed002's Note - It is too early to say with any coinfidence and it is pointless giving an opinion right now. Perhaps one of them.}

Believable17 Unbelievable6

No chance would we get both Hazard and Rodriguez. I still think Hazard is a pipe dream. Modric is the likely big name, but Rodriguez could come in but not for his rediculous release clause fee.

Clyne is odds on to join and Martinez would be so hard to get.

AV7

Agree0 Disagree0

It would always be Rodriguez OR Hazard, not both.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

If Pogba stays convert him into the defensive midfield role. Then there would be no need for javi martinez.

I hope we get hazard and lucas moura...it would give us the speed, dribbling, and creativity back in our midfield.

Mancini says Citeh to sell Balotelli in the summer. They are falling apart. Mancini is an absolutely shocking manager, and doesn't seem to care about his relationship with his players! I wonder just what the players think of him.

G.A.G.U.S

Believable16 Unbelievable2

I wonder what the players think about each other let alone mancini(i mean tevez & ballotelli). If it was me I would not be happy as its obvious they only care about themselves. Bookedredmole

Agree0 Disagree0

Things wrong with City

Mancini not the greatest manager
Silva hasn't been on form
The past results have been terrible
They have had to sort out Balotelli and Tevez, who will be sold and may take time for the replacements to replace the talent of Balotelli and Tevez.
They have only one two away games in 2012, which is terrible for "title winning side"
City are going down.
Mancini sacked in summer
Balotelli and Tevez sold in the summer
To be followed by Adam Johnson, Aleksander Kolarov, Stefan Savic, Stuart Taylor, Costel Pantimillon, Mario Balotelli and Carlos Tevez obviously, Pablo Zabaleta, Edin Dzeko, Samir Nasri, Michael Johnson, Owen Hargreaves, Kolo Toure and possibly James Milner.

They will raise £100m and they will spend it on

Gonzalo Higuain- Real Madrid- £26.5 million
Clint Dempsey- Fulham- £15 million
Jack Rodwell- Everton- £17 million
Thomas Vermaelen- Arsenal- £18 million.
Alex Cairns- Leeds- £2.5 million

Squad

1 Alex Cairns
25 Joe Hart

2 Micah Richards
5 Thomas Vermaelen
6 Joleon Lescott
4 Vincent Kompany
3 Gael Clichy

21 David Silva
17 Clint Dempsey
42 Yaya Toure
34 Nigel De Jong
18 Gareth Barry
26 Jack Rodwell

16 Sergio Aguero
10 Gonzalo Higuain

Didn't Nasri leave Arsenal because he wanted some silverware?

Mike

Believable38 Unbelievable1

The Arsenal Fans were singing "what a waste of Money" when he was been replaced...LOL and the truth.
One more Money Whore who chosen money over football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes mike and he has got it... last week he bought silver crockery set... silver toilet seat.. and even silver stitch underwear... from lots of money he got at city.. arent they silverwares.... hhaa poor money grabbing little chicken..

I am waiting to hear what he says after the title has been decorated with red and white ribbons?

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster above i think ur find he agreed to join united but city came along and offered more wages,he asked united if they would match citys offer and saf told him where to go,and rightly so.joeyored

Agree0 Disagree0

I loved the chants when he came off. First game he played for City, he got like 3 assists. Suddenly, he plays no full matches. Never scores or makes an impact to the game, but did at Arsenal.

I recon we should have snapped him up. Cheap, young and WILL get silverware every season

On the back of that i think that we really do need a striker, Cavani or Higuain should be a priority. If we had someone prolific then we would score so much more and walk over teams.

I think that Higuain and Cavani are a pipe dream though, the two best strikers that i think are possibly likely will be Leandro Damiao or it would be van Persie. I can see us having a big summer where we get Van Persie and Modric who will complete the side. Get those two and add a youngster or two and i think we will go on to be very strong next year.

Believable7 Unbelievable13

Van Persie is 29 next year and will cost 40 million and Modrich is 27 next year and he will cost 40 million. SAF just won't part with that kind of cash for the. Strootman, Clyne, Cissoko and Tiote all for 50 million, is more like it and they will be 22, 21, 23 and 25 next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

As a regular reader, I have realised that it's people like you that provide the silliness on this site. The idea of just naming a striker (Cavani, Higuain, Leandro etc) and saying "Lets get him" or "Why aren't we going in for him?" is positively ludicrous and pointless. Do you not realise that players are human beings with complex personalities and preferences such as family, climate, culture, ambition etc? It's not just saying a name you have plucked off the site and insisting that the greatest manager of all time should purchase him for a figure you cooked up in your tiny mind. Rant over.

danny welbeck is so poor, we need an experienced striker up there with rooney.

Believable25 Unbelievable26

I think we should sell berba and owen then sign one of van wofswinkel, raul or huntelaar

Agree0 Disagree0

Danny Welbeck is poor? LOL he's learning so don't expect to be WOW'D just yet.. Rooney said just last week how highly he rates young Danny, i think he knows what he is talking about.. you on the other hand! No..

Also no namer, what's your obsession with having an old half decent, half pointless player at the club, just doesn't appeal to me!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree. At the start of the year I genuinely couldnt wait for Welbeck to grace our team after his great loan at Sunderland................Now I just cannot understand how he is getting games over players like Hernandez etc who is a goal every few CHANCES striker.....not a goal every month + like Welbeck....Today he was really bad again!

Agree0 Disagree0

I also cant understand how he starts, everytime he gets the ball he looks totally unstable as if he's about to drop any second. i'd prefer nani upfront

TRUMORS

Agree0 Disagree0

He starts ahead of Hernandez because Chicha can't get involved in the build up play like Welbeck can. He has no strength, no touch, can't dribble, can't pass. What Welbeck has, Hernandez lacks and vice versa.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hernandez & Wellbeck are both great squad players to have around and they will both develop

However I agree - to be a clss outfit I'd love to have a RVP, Higuain or Cavani up front with Rooney in the hole

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

Wellbeck has oodles of pace, energy can beat men, but he is a little goal shy. Chicho on the other hand can score from 6 yards and that is it. I can see why he cost only 7million. If a decent bid come in 12 million+ I'd sell him above Berba. Also Chicho is no kid, nearly 24
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who says that Welbeck is poor is clearly a muppet.

If he doesn't become one of the best strikers in the league in the next 2/3 years, I'll eat Tevez's used pants.

Can't understand why you lot are so overly critical, almost like you want these players to fail....

Pritpal

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont know wot fergie see's in wellbad cause he's shocking he's got a touch like a baby, he cant hit a barn door with banjo,so if saf thinks he's better than hernandez or berba he's had to much iron brew ! {Ed004's Note - He is hard working, fast and still young. Heaps of room for improvement and has scored 7 goals so far this league which is one less than the 'magnificent' Suarez. His link up play is far better than Hernandez and he is a lot faster and hard worker compared to Berbatov}

fergie not happy at half time. qpr down to 10 men and we still play cautious slow tempo with predictable passes. The one thing I find amazing is that whenever carrick or scholes gets the ball all players in front of them stay and hold their positions instead of moving and creating space.

Winning a title by dodgy penalties at old trafford is par for the course though isnt it ?
