Hey Ed002, do you know if we would have any interest in Nocerino, Defour and Dries Maartens?

Thanks Ed

Pabs {Ed002's Note - No; if he bacame available and Strootman went elsewhere then perhaps; no.}

Thanks Ed002!
In your opinion, who do you think we might consider to be alternatives to Strootman?

Pabs {Ed002's Note - Lars Bender perhaps.}

Today news has started that ac milan have made a move for strootman with 12m opening inquiry. Any truth in the rumours ed?

Rodio17 {Ed002's Note - Milan's interest is Strootman is nothing new.}

Believable6 Unbelievable3

We have to do everything we can to signe him. He will be a complete beast for us

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 has stated there is interest from Milan and United, for a while now. Really hope he makes the right decision :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully Rvp can play a role in helping him decide where to go

Elvis

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I kno there is nothing new about interest but I heard they have started negotiation.

Genuinely don't think Strootman is united quality. Cirigliano will be/may already be much better, we should go for him instead IMO.

Dan

So what is United quality these days then? We don't have the class we used to, lots of average joes in our team eg young, tony v. Not many yyou'd class as genuine champs league quality players. Strootman is a must for me

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree. Nani. young. Valencia. Anderson. all had their day at united. strootman. Wiltshire. Or even phill jones as a midfielder enforcer. would be ideal. and let's get back to our two flying wingers days. Giggs absolute legend. But we need someone 20 yrs younger. Hopefully Saha will be a hit. but if he don't score in first ten games. we will all be slagging him off, along with the other basement bargains we will probably sign. rock the red

Agree0 Disagree0

Strootman is one the best box to box mf's in Europe surely he got to be top of fergie's wish list.

Ed002; few stories linking us with Matic of Benfica, are these truthful at all?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Posted about a month ago about the whole Nike/GM thing. Interesting story today has Aon agreeing to a new, extended deal, but not as the shirt sponsor. They will have naming rights to the training grounds, and they will take over DHL's training gear sponsorship (for more than the 10mil/yr DHL was paying). It had been written about that United and GM were looking for a way to make the shirt switch a year early and use Ronaldo/Rooney/Chicharito for their World Cup global marketing, and it seems as if Aon and United are playing nicely, which could smooth things over with the rumors that were around in recent weeks. Eternal optimist, I know, but it just seems like we've had a bunch of information being released that all logically points towards what many on these boards have been hoping for. Enjoy the derby everyone. Come on United!!

Believable15 Unbelievable5

It is a very interesting move. Pallister has come out and said that he think it might just happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

You know only people working for Aon and the club can be forced to call it the Aon training complex. Anyone one else can still call it Carrington, it's not exactly illegal. As far as I'm concerned we are getting 15m a year for nothing :)

Dan

Agree2 Disagree0

It's crazy money if you think about it. Chelsea and other clubs have struggled to get a £10m-a-year deal for the naming rights of their stadiums and United get a reported £15m-a-year for Carrington. It's bonkers really. I have predicted this for some time, but thought Nike would have been part of the Carrington naming rights. Perhaps one day they will redevelop the South stand and name it after a sponsor? That must be on the cards for the future surely?

Ed002, is this what your friend predicted? Do you know if the £15m a year is an accurate figure? Thanks.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - This is as expected but the figure you have looks slightly low from the US$ figure we were give.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Very interesting all right. Depends how serious the rumour is about GM having those 3 as brand ambassadors.

Agree0 Disagree0

All I can say is I do hope it happens. My head says it is going to be difficult but my heart keeps saying it is a done deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Or they could just be generating all of these deals to pay the 400m dept off!

MS

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, UK media are reporting £120m-£180m. So they are not very clued up it seems. £15m seemed a bit low to cancel the DHL £10m a year deal. I would have thought £20m a year would have been more like it. Especially after chucking in Carrington too. With the deal probably agreed in dollars it's probably neither £120m or £180?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Ok Syd.}

Agree1 Disagree0

There doesn't need to be a specific reason or motive for doing this, it's just an effort to increase revenues! Whatever happens to the profit generated from that is a separate issue, I don't see any necessary link to the Ronaldo transfer.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed do you know a more precise value for the deal? {Ed002's Note - I really don't want to get in to discussing teh money - there is a lot of misinformation I have been seeing here.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I never understand why big brands with no affiliation to a club (or even a sport) sponsor it. I hate Manchester United and part of the reason I never travel Turkish Airlines is because of their sponsorship of the club (the pre-flight safety video featuring Rooney, Nani and the full back twins being enough to make me turn to murder).

Apart from the fact that Chevreolet make useless cars, its just another reason not to buy one.

Fair play for getting silly money for nothing but this stuff makes no sense what so ever.

Agree0 Disagree2

You make no sense getting involved if this is of no interest to you.

ABUs in this country are tiny compared to the global appeal of the club. Don't bother commenting on marketing and finance issues you have no idea about, what was the point in that comment at all.

Hey ed002, just wondering when you get a chance to answer, do you know are united still tracking halilovic of dynamo Zagreb and do united stand any chance of signing him in the future?i know you said lewandowski and strootman are not definite but likely, who do you think might arrive in the versatile attacker/winger position?thanks {Ed002's Note - Dinamo Zagreb's Halilovic is attracting the attention of many of Europe's leading side including Real Madrid (who have had an offer turned down), Inter, Juventus, Ajax, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal. A move to England in the short term is unlikely due to his age but both Inter and Manchester City are again pushing.}
