Sir Alex on RVP:

"We have made a bid and they've been trying to negotiate with other clubs," said Ferguson.
"I don't have a gut feeling on it at the moment, I must admit.
"We're not getting any breakthrough with Arsenal.
"It's difficult to say why they're operating this way.
"I don't know what their thoughts are because they're not giving anything away."
There had been rumours circulating prior to tonight's game that Van Persie was heading to Manchester for a medical.
It seems they were wide of the mark.
"I can't give you any more information," said Ferguson.
"We just have to persevere.
"We are trying our best and hopefully it will come our way but there's no progress at this moment in time."

The 'Van persie is coming to Manchester last night' rumour was reported in the Manchester Evening News......so at that point I realised that, that wasn't going to happen. The MEN is the least qualified to tell you whats going on at OT.

Sir Alex Ferguson says he is persevering in his bid to sign Robin van Persie after losing out on Lucas Moura.

With PSG declaring they have won the race to sign Brazilian Lucas for a club record fee, speculation has been rife that the Reds are stepping up attempts to land the Arsenal captain. Although the Gunners would clearly prefer to sell to a club outside of the Barclays Premier League, the boss is hopeful a deal can be struck.

"I can't give you any more information," he said when asked about van Persie. "We have made a bid and they've been trying to negotiate with other clubs. We just have to persevere. Hopefully it will come our way. We're trying our best but there's no progress at this moment in time.

"I don't have a gut feeling on it at the moment, I must admit. We're not getting any breakthrough with Arsenal. It's difficult to say why they're operating this way. I don't know what their thoughts are because they're not giving anything away."

Regarding Lucas' sale from Sao Paulo, it is further evidence that the cash-laden Parisiens mean business in the transfer market.

"I find it quite amazing that a club can pay €45million for a 19-year-old boy," Sir Alex continued. "To make a mark on everyone - to tell everyone that PSG are here - they've signed Thiago Silva from Milan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

"They must have spent about £150m in the last month. As you know, the only deterrent to that is UEFA. In the conditions of European football, you don't qualify for Europe by winning the league or coming second - you only get in by invitation. T

I am losing hope in Anderson. He tackles well, he can knock people off the ball, but offensively he is not good enough. He does not move into spaces well without the ball, he gives the ball away too often with ambitious passes, and we all know he cannot shoot. Despite that, I do think the players like him as being a good teammate and a fun-loving guy.

Other world-class teams have world-class creators: Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Ozil, Silva, Pastore, Modric.

Scholes and Carrick are excellent passers, but not as mobile going forward. I think Cleverly will help a lot in this area. Kagawa is also a big step in the right direction. I think most of us agree that Kagawa will not be in a 2-man MF, but more as the playmaker in a 4-2-3-1. It will be interesting to see who settles in as the #1 choices in the 2-man and 3-man midfields.

Believable13 Unbelievable6

I back him in Carricks position. People say we don't have enough steel. There is a reason we paid 15m rising to 25m and I think we will see that this season.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree1

It'll be even more interesting should we get RVP

Anderson is/was a great attacking midfielder. Had the skill to beat anyone going forward. Fergie has ruined him in his stubbornness of trying to change him into a defensive mid. It wont work, Unleash the lad in his natural attacking role to get the best out of him (like he did in his first season). Fergie has gotten this one wrong and need to acknowledge it.

Right well a few positives and negatives to take from that game.

Start with the negatives...Most noticeable but not necessarily important, PENALTIES wow we are bad first thing before the new season is somebody teach them how to score from 12 yards out.

Another negative has been similar to England in the case of ball retention. Most players can do it without fail but a few players really struggle to hold the ball up and work it in tight areas. BUT will be worked on as pre-season progresses and won't really be a problem.

Final negative,Mr Wayne Rooney. I know for a fact it's pre-season and will not be a problem in the league but when it gets to big games in europe i.e Barcelona he seems to go missing. In 4 or 5 games now against Barcelona he has done one thing (all be it came to nothing as we got beat 3-1)

Now after me posting miserable negatives lets get to a few positives...

Obviously fitness will have improved massively chasing Barcelona all game, it will help and will be a massive bonus going in to Everton on the opening day.

Numerous players impressed also, Valencia at right back was excellent at both ends plus linking up with Nani could be lethal especially in home games when teams sit back and defend against us. David De Gea (all be it Scholes got it) was my MOTM, made some top class saves and the trio of Vidic,Ferdinand and DDG will be one of (if not the best) back lines in the league. Anderson and Scholes partnership was also good in the midfield, against arguably the best midfielders in the world at present with Anderson breaking the play up tracking Messi and handing the ball to Scholes running the show once he picked the ball up.

fearny

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Rooney is a player who needs games to get match sharp and fit more so than alot of players so seeing as it was only his second game of pre-season i wouldn't worry about it.

DDG was excellent. I still feel we're missing someone in the middle.

My biggest worry was we were still playing a more 442 against the best possession team in the world, if ever there is a game to play three in the middle it's against Barca. That should be tactic's 101, don't get out numbered in midfield against a team who are good at keeping the ball.

We'd be better off bogging down midfield meaning Barca are pegged back to a certain extent giving us more space then we are the better team at counter attacking which we should use to get us the goal/s needed to get a result.

This has been shown as the only way to beat Barca yet we still don't seem to see it. We need someone to come in who is a great tactician or we won't improve in europe.

The last final we played against Barcelona in CL Rooney showed class when he scored our only goal. He's our best player by a mile so shhh...

It's very early yet for Rooney, he's got to warm up.

Remember, we're always a worse team without him.

RedMist

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi all

Long time reader / first time poster

Ok so Rooney is our best player by far attacking, and Vidic is without doubt our best defensive rock.

Rio is on his way out - lets be honest, and can Jones, Smalling and Evans fill the void, I know evans done great LS but he has been shaky against the bigger teams. I have seen Smalling turned inside out a few times and Jones reminds me of my brother playing football - keeping his eye just on the ball and heading towards goal. I think we will be ok till January in defense but this will need to be analyzed then should Rio's fitness decline.

Our Midfield is highly decorated but TBH we dont have the calibre of City right now as our best midfield player is PS, and at 37 how many games can he manage along with RG age is there biggest challenge... Nani, Young and Valencia Have the potential to be great but lack Heart L.B.H. I can just about tolerate Carrick with his on/off performances and Anderson has a lot to learn. Cleverly is looking promising but he is still young, but credit where credit is due Kawaga is a great AM and will defo do a bit of damage. I know NP is new but he too lacks XP in all competitions so to be truthful we really need a Midfield Maestro to cope with the likes of citys YYT who seemed to stroll through our midfield like a Sunday morning walk in the park.

We all no WR is in a class of his own tracking back to MF to make play ( what other FF does that in our team ) and unselfishly opening up play making goalscoring chances. I truly believe that WR is the new RK as he also plays with heart.

RVP will be a marvelous addition to our squad subject to being fit ( and not Injured ) him and Rooney will grow in leaps and bounds thus making our other FF players more eager to impress for game time all be it rotating the FF line up for all competitions.

So lets get real, we need RVP!! but really we need a CM/DCM to cope with YYT and come January have a great chance of a big FB player signing if SAF gets working on it now. I only say this should Lightning stike twice ( without Vidic fully fit, our defense is not immense ) And ye all too well know it.....

( I still question myself as too how we ( almost the richest club in the world, Bought with debts the length of a mile and other EPL clubs have the Sheik to laugh at us cause the debts were cleared with the AID OF A ROYAL )

Slate me and rate me ( Just don't hate me )

Agree0 Disagree0

Another post talking h1t.

Look how many goals Rooney has scored against topteams in the EPL over the last few seasons. City, Chelsea etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe in Rooney laid of the fags then he wouldnt need so many games to get fit!
CardiffRED

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting debate on Rooney. Clearly, he can be a game changer and has incredible skill...but he does go missing. He's also rather full of himself which was how Beckham started on the down slope. He needs a season of consistent 9/10 performances, something he has so far failed to deliver

Agree0 Disagree0

I can only assume that you don't want Rooney carefully enough. He is the talisman in almost all of our big games. He is our big match player. Time and time again in the crunch games against City, Chelsea, Arsenal he comes up trumps (check his records).

Agree0 Disagree0

Fearny you are ever so swiftly becoming my most disliked poster. Everything you have to say is nothing short of brutal. Your rumours are usually a million miles off, speculative remarks laughable and now your match analysis (of a pre-season friendly game!) is the final straw for me! Do us all a favour and quit.

Fernando Llorente has rejected a new contract with bilbao .
so thats Llorente and RVP both in the last year of there contract , which one would people prefer
jred

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Llorente all day - younger, stronger and better fitness record as well as being just as clinical.

RedDevil19

Agree1 Disagree0

Llorente if i was a gambling man, he has potential to be lethal in the EPL.

RVP though for me, as much as i like LLorente and have for many years, RVP is a safer bet (the bet is on him staying fit.)

But....... Llorente is so powerfull arrrrrrrrr
i dont know.

Good question.

Cban

Agree1 Disagree0

Van Persie for me. Yes he can be prone to injuries but Llorente may be prone to them in the Prem. Also Ł20m for Van Persie is not too bad by todays standards, and he would guarentee success as we all know he can score and create goals. Llorente would cost similar, and although Llorente is taller and younger I think Van Persie is faster, more clinical and more creative. Plus I think RvP would link up really well with Rooney.

Really good performance I thought against Barcelona. We played really well, Nani, Kagawa and Valencia in particular looked so dangerous and they all combined well with Welbeck. Feeling very positive for the coming season.

One question though, why did we lose after missing just two penalties? We still could of won 3-2...

RedDevil19

Believable4 Unbelievable11

Rules for that game was only 3 penalties each.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was 3 pens per team, we missed 2 and they scored 2 so how the hell could we of won 3-2??

There were only 3 penalties for each team and we hit first.

The Robin Van Persie deal is one we can surely believe we can see happen over the next week or so. The price I am not sure about, Arsenal want about £25million however, it will be closer to £20million. It is not as bigger investment as the Moura deal potentially could have been. There is a much lesser risk application to it as he has proved his worth over the past season in the Premier League and we can expect a significent return through overall contribution to the team's inevitable success due to the additions of Kagawa, Powell and imminently himslelf. In the lineup he could form an awesome partnership with Rooney or he could be up there with Rooney dropping back, either way we can have an attack which can compete with the very best in Europe. I really hope this goes through smoothly and quickly unlike the Moura deal and he can be intergrated into the squad soon.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Price does not seem to be the problem only wengers stubborness not wanting to sell a player to fergie yet is happy to seel half his team to man city! wise wenger wise!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the deal clincher could be a year supply of haribo's dont think wenger could turn that down

Agree0 Disagree0

There is another issue in this deal. If RvP stays because Arsene won't sell to us and even after trawling the rest of Europe gets no joy, what is he left with? Club captain no more, fans in his case again and worst of all, a grumpy Dutchman. (we all know how they can be). We can box clever and wait it out. Unfortunately, his pre-season may be comprimised, but I'm sure we could cope for a month while he gets his fitness up.

Just heard from a contact at the ENEMA RATES that the RVP deal is definitely a goer.

Watching the Barca game and our best player so far are:

Scholes - Outstanding
De Gea - He's been awesome (Ed. Has he had the Eye surgery that was prescribed)
Kagawa (Pronounced by himself) as KAGA WA

Do we really need other players apart from RVP? Only asking, so no snide remarks please.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

I don't think we do mate. Still Giggs and Cleverly to come back too!..next year I think we will need to strengthen the midfield, but we have Scholes back now and weren't too far off last year!...RVP would be a big boost along with Kagawa.

Steve the red

Agree0 Disagree0

Scholes cant play more than 20 matches a season. He needs a replacement and as i have said 20 times before it should be Modric. Or Martinez because he would give that defensive edge as well as being able to control the play. A left back as well, Evra got caught out of position a lot and was lucky that Vida was there to cover him. My ideal summer - RVP, Modric, Baines with Berba, Macheda out. If it pays for the three above then Nani out as well. I want Nani to stay but given that we have Valencia, young and kagawa who can play on the wings I would sacrifice him for the above signings (for the right price of course). Modric number 1 priority.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

But WTF has DDG done to his barnet he must be hanging round with Ando

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

He isn't having it and never will be as he doesn't need it... He told MUTV that it was all paper talk and he has only a minor problem that many people have

fearny

Agree0 Disagree0

For me its other areas but up top that need addressing. We need another central midfielder and we also need cover at left back. Really don't want a striker to come in that pushes Kagawa out of position as he would be wasted.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont even think we "need" him... He is world class everyone knows that, but we have class strikes with Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez. What are the odds that all of them get hurt? And if that really happens we should just give one of the young chaps a chance!

I think we only need someone to replace scholes and maybe a cb!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cb we definitely don't need. Smalling Evans and Jones more than capable to take over in the long term.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Dan is right about RVP and Modric. Buying proven premier league players has always worked well for us in the past. RVP (if he stays fit) would be the world class partner for Rooney we are looking for while Welbeck and Chicha can provide cover as they grow. Modric is coming into his peak and is the man we need to replace Scholes. As for Baines, I still think we need someone we can mold as Evras deputy unless Fergie's in one of his ruthless moods. Having said that, City do have strong competition in full back positions and if that's what it takes...

Moura Off To PSG :(

Paris St Germain have confirmed that they have agreed a deal with Sao Paulo for midfielder Lucas Moura, who had earlier been heavily linked with Manchester United.

The 19-year-old will remain with the Brazilian side until January before linking up with Carlo Ancelotti's side on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

The playmaker, who is currently in Britain representing Brazil at the Olympics, began his professional career with his hometown club and has made 58 league appearances.

Moura had been a target of United but the two clubs failed to agree on a fee for the teenager.

Transfer Fee: 35m pounds (rumored)

Sorry for copy n paste.

Great news, club, agent, family...... all good for nothing money grabbers....!
Not a good signing for us, hate to say it but 'better value in the market'.
RVP, and a left back, any of the usual suspects mentioned. Midfield fine with Cleverley aka the new 'scholes'.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he is going to PSG then thats ok by me. A 19 year old, never played outside his country, didn't make the starting line up for the Brazil Olympic team and by all accounts not set the wiorld alight in his home nation over the past 12 months.........and they're asking for Ł30m....the worlds gone mad. And for all those of you who are devastated, a quiet word from a 53 yr old pre-Youtube football fan.....assess a player when you've seen him in the flesh game after game, not a few clips on Youtube put together with no other intention except to impress......even I could look world class on youtube.....and I've not played since Stretford Boys 1968 !

Aly Cisookho is looking to leave this summer:

“The priority is England or Italy. However, there have been no concrete offers as yet, even though Lyon are keen to sell,” he said.
“The preference would be to depart. Aly wishes to discover a new challenge. If he has to stay he will, and he will do his job – but if there is an opportunity, he will seize it,” said Mamadou Cissokho.
Cissokho joined Lyon from £12 million in 2009 after a proposed move to AC Milan fell through. The left-back has made over 100 appearances for the Ligue 1 club but is now deemed surplus to requirements and has been criticised by President Jean-Michel Aulas.
“Aulas made a show in the press and now he has to take his words into consideration and be sensible about a fee. If he doesn’t want the player, he has to let him leave for the right price. 11 million for a full-back is impossible nowadays,” continue Mamadou.

I have been told by someone who works at old Trafford that united had shaken hands on a deal with moura on Friday/ Saturday. There was a medical slot booked (actually 2 slots) but moura agent canceled when interest came in from psg.....more money for that deal .

The RVP deal is still alive , fergie has told gill he wants the deal done and as I said recently we are willing to go to 21.5m to secure. This bid has been lodged with arsenal but they have yet to reply. Wenger and RVP sat down yesterday to talk about the future. If we use the £40 million original budget that we originally had and then take off the intitial £12 million for Kagawa and £4 million for Powell then we have around £24 million remaining. If £22 millon of that is to go on RVP then we have basically an empty pot that could perhaps get up to around £10 million after the sales of De Laet, Norwood, James, Berbatov and Park. That would have to go on a left back I would imagine so that discounts Baines but Izaguirre, Cissokho and Oveido have a good chance of coming in. Cissokho (or his agent) has once again recently stated that Cissokho wants to come to England so hopefully we have a good chance at getting him as he would be a good option I am sure.

Based on the budget that we have speculated about though, there doesn't seem to be much room for a central midfielder. I think Lucas Moura wouldn't of been included in the budget as he was a luxury expense that we would use funds from elsewhere to finance. So perhaps RVP and Cissokho/Izaguirre/Oveido are what we are looking for.

RedDevil19

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Reasonable post, i think i'd choose Izaguirre over Cissokho purely because he looks better at going forward, something which Evra has managed to do very well. Either one though would be a relatively good value for money transfer.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you feel to mention baines in virtually every post and second rate players were not interested in like izaguirre etc ? Give it a rest please you need to appreciate there are a lot better players who are on our radar! If we don't get them we will look at younger players ! Shandy

Agree0 Disagree0

Go to the united section on transferleague.co.uk to find out the net transfer values so far. As it stands, by bringing in Kagawa and Powell as well as selling fringe players we are at a net spend of about 12m. take 5 off that for Berba leaving and we are on 7m. Add 22m for RVP we have about another 11m to spend. If you sell Nani for 25m it means we have over 36m to spend. Also we may get an extra few million if we sell Macheda. Anyway, Dont treat 40m as an absolute limit, the COO said around 40m which could be anything between 40-50m. If we dont get Moura I would like to see us go back in for Modric.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree1

The Ł40 million was put to the transfer funds after Kagawa and Powell so we still have the Ł40 million plus the sales we recoup as it was planned to be spent on Van Persie and Lucas Moura

fearny

Agree0 Disagree0

Any 3 of those would probably be more defensively solid than Evra. However Evra will still be number one choice, these will keep harmony in the squad better than a big money move for Baines as it would be hard to drop either Baines or Evra.

In all honest with the Ł10 million that we could raise and then Ł25 millio left of the budget after our current transfers, i'd put Ł35 million on Modric.

RedDevil19

40m was only put in to keep fans happy nothing more

Shearer & Solkjćr was another.

Well this might turn out just fine.

Missed out on Hazard (who seems a t***ter) & got a humble eager to prove his worth Kagawa.

Got rid of a money grabbing French teen to Juventus & bought a hot English prospect in Powell.

Lost out on Lucas Moura.......... To be continued..........

Believable36 Unbelievable10

And brought in Neymar..... Sorry, must of dozed off for a second there :)

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

We were going for Kagawa and Hazard, hense why we still tried to sign the Hazard replacement (Moura).

Thank you! Finally someone thinking positive! I dont think that Lucas Moura would have been that good for the money!

How did City's interest benefit us in the case of RVP?

Just asking.

RebelRed

We were also supposedly getting Nesta and ended up with Rio.

Well if it's true that all hope is lost with Moura then i'd say keeping Nani is the best option as there isn't any other outstanding young talent that's worth it. Nani has a fair bit of experience in a United shirt now and that can only help the flock of youngsters being fed into the team..

David Hirst getting injured when we seemed very keen and then getting Cantona has to be my favourite :) Maybe there is a relatively unknown gem on the horizon like a Ronaldo/Solkjear/Cantona. I certainyl hope so as to be honest pretty much ALL the names I see getting mentioned now bar Martinez and to a degree Modric/RVP dont really excite me at all. You can keep your Moutinho/Witsel/Strootman/Jetro Willems/Wayama/Baines/Izzaguire/Gaitan etc etc as far as Im concerned none of them really bring us on. ALthough only seen his Everton game and some highlights of English youth game I would rather go out and blow Ł15-20m on Ross Barkley (if it were that simple) still very young and raw but potentially he seems to have the lot, exactly the kind of player we need and he is English, probably two years early and yes Rodwell looked promisign too but Barkley looks like he could turn into a real box to box player with the ruggedness of a premiership player and the technique of a Spaniard. Im certainly interested to see how he progresses over the next two seasons from the little I have seen. The thought of him, Wiltshire, CLeverly and if he ever gets his head straight Morrison means ENglish football isnt dead in the water

i have reliable sources from the club, the truth is with city leaching on to every GENUINE target we have, everthing is water tight, unless we want citys interest to use to our advantage ie the rvp case

it looks certain fergie is beavering away to get the right player in, intime for the season, but as weve seen in the past hed rather sign nobody than a second rate player

Believable18 Unbelievable9

So let me get this right... The club is keeping everything quiet, yet you and your sources have been told about it. Must not be doing a very good job in keeping it quiet then

fearny

Agree0 Disagree0

United always keep things close the there chests, which is why it was weird hearing Fergie talking openly about RVP and Moura.
Wouldn't be at all surprised to see Fergie pull a real surprise out of the bag. He has done many times before.

Nani leaving to join CR7 in Madrid and Sahin and Khedira coming in return (plus number of appearance add-ons etc)

Believable10 Unbelievable35

I said yesterday I would take Sahin & fabio coentrao for Nani and between Ł5 & Ł10m...

this would then cover the 2 positions we are desperate to fill...... with quality signings.....

Oxred

That would be amazing! I think both of them are better than Nani, although probably not as valuable in the market as him. I think Nani would be incredible in Spain though, but not here.

What is happening with regards to Joao moutinho's situation? There were a lot of rumours about him and a potential move to utd or spurs earlier in the summer.

Can someone please clarify this?

Philiphs92 {Ed002's Note - If Spurs lose Modric, I would expect that they will look to Moutinho.}

Believable10 Unbelievable2

That answer makes no sense Ed. If Man Utd really was interested in Moutinho, they would not wait for Spurs to clarify the potential Modric deal. Do you know if United are interested in Moutinho?

Steffen {Ed007's Note - It makes perfect sense if Man Utd weren't in for Moutinho.}

edd hope this gets posted who do u tink utd will sign nw since moura goin to play in france which to be honest is like playing in the irish premier league this shows that he not confident he can hack it in epl i think ovideo from copehagen for 3 mill rvp maybe 22mil and james rodruigue from porto 25 mill fergie will not buy a midfilder as fletcher back training and cleverley played well at olympics what u tink please post

irish red {Ed002's Note - Moura not signing should not be a shock to anyone of course. I will stick to what I said a few weeks back about interest in Witsel coming to the fore.}

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Hi people. Can anyone tell me what type of player Witsel is? Cant say i have seen much of him and seen valuations of circa Ł30m attached to him. Are there any similarities to well known players, in style and type!

Any info would be great!

Sambo

Agree0 Disagree0

Real will get Witsel. But hopefully that will make it easier for us to get Modric.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Witzel would be like roy keane but a bit more techinal

Agree0 Disagree1

From what iv seen of him, he is a beast of a cm, but also pretty skillfull with an eye for goal
duggo

Agree0 Disagree0

He is typically an all round midfielder who is very physical and agressive. He can't dictate/pass like Scholes or Modric but he does have the Keane type of attitude. Think Carrick with more attitude and physicality, reads the game well, would be a good holding mid and could play a playmaker role as a secondary role.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Have we definitely missed out on Moura then? Are we sure he's off to PSG?

Ed002, can you give us some info on Berbatov's potential move to Zenit if you have it please? And do you have any news on anything United today? Thanks.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I understand that firm offers for Berbatov from Fenerbahce and Lokomotiv Moscow were not as attractive to him as the offer from Zenit which I am sure will be accepted.}

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Maybe getting him off the wage bill can start the ball rolling with firm offers for other players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, thanks, any idea about the fee Ed? Is it close to the 8m euros you predicted months ago?

Lucas Moura "Boring now"
With Nani & Valencia as our right wingers we don't need him. That money should be spent elsewhere.

Carrick needs cover, Evra needs competition, Scholes needs replacing.

Sahin can cover for Carrick & fill the gap (not REPLACE ) Scholes next season. Fergie is good friends with Mourinho & Real Madrid should sell to us once in a while. Plus they'll have the money for Modric then.

Oveido would be a gamble, he can cover LW also, just like what we wanted from Alba.

Angelo Henriquez needs to be bought now & sent on loan with our Deportivo Brazil lot to Holland when the season starts.

A lot of people are worried that Chicharito has been found out now, his control is woeful & he is caught off-side a lot.
Macheda may or may not be loaned/sold this or next season.

So at least 2013-14 we'd have Rooney, Welbeck, W.Keane, Angelo Henriquez, Chicharito?, Macheda?, King?

Sahin loan then 16m
Oveido 7m
Henriquez 3m
TOTAL 26m

This is more like the Glazer price range
10m more spent this August then 16m spent the next to secure Sahin. Hopefully another 20m to buy Lewandowski to replace Chicharito & Macheda.

Believable5 Unbelievable15

I really like the idea of bringing Sahin on loan with the purchase option and would like to see us get RVP as I really believe this will bring on the technical ability of Welbeck and Chicharito

Agree0 Disagree0

Lil pea suffered the second season curse if you perform well in your first season tryin to live up to that expectation is stressful plus he has had a lot of rest SAF will be awear of the offsides an that but no way is he a maybe the young lad will let loose this season him an Rooney up front kafs an cleverly nani an Toni feedin them it's gonna be a good season for the pea

CAIN

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree about Chicharito, his ball control and passing is somewhat embarrasing and he does get caught offside an awful lot. Not sure whether he'll regain any sort of form but the only strikers we have that can do a good job is Rooney and Welbeck. Shinji helps with his ability to play as a second striker but i still think we're a little thin in the forward department. Maybe all this RVP talk will turn to reality?

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

What a Cracking post, if not somewhat jaundiced on certain players (Hernadez).

I too am fed up with Prima Donna players like Moura & Sneijder playing "silly buggers" on transfers. Either they want to join a team with more History than their tin pot clubs at present or 'sod off'.

David Gill & SAF will sort it, and will not be held to ransom financially.

There will be more 'chip paper' rumours but be assured we will get the best players that we need not just WANT!

Carryonvending

Agree0 Disagree0

Biggest load of crap I've read regarding Hernandez.

Agree1 Disagree0

Watch his game his control is shocking.

SUMMARY- I'd have Scholes hitting 50 yard passes over FK wall dummies. Chicharito can run past the line of the dummies and control the pass. That'll sort his off-side runs if he does that 2hrs a day.

Other than that I'd have Rooney smashing the ball at his legs from 20yards. He'll soon learn to control the ball then.

He certainly doesn't need shooting practice.

Agree1 Disagree0

I cant believe the amount of abuse thrown at hernandez on this site, he spent a lot of last season injured, plus hes been on the go non stop for about 4 yrs (hes had this summer off for the first time in years) and he still out scored wellbeck last year from fewer starts. i would agree on the offside issue but his control is superb.

Agree0 Disagree0

Phil, I agree with you 100%.
When I read that Moura was interested in the PSG "project", I was reminded of all the mercenaries that have signed for Sh*tty.
United are much more than a project, we are an ongoing iconic sporting phenomenon which involves being and remaining the worlds largest and best supported sporting club. If Moura is not attracted by that, so be it.
I would still like him at OT as he is a class player; if he elects to go elsewhere, we will buy elsewhere.
