I though Lloris would cost around 25mil not much more than de gea {ed's note - that is if they agree to sell, his value is around the same but there is not the need to sell unlike in Spain. Every team in Spain is desperate to sell players as their economy is on the verge of collapse. I would have thought the Ajax keeper would be the likeliest target myself though, Jol left because he was told top players were going in the summer out of necessity.}
@De Gea has a buy-out clause of just ‚Ǩ20m (£16m) so why spend 25m on Lloris who is arguably on par with Akinfeev, De Gea, Neuer & Stekelenburg for fees of just £10-15m, £15m, £10m, £10m respectively.
Because Neuer is out of contract in 2012, he may even be available for as little as 7m. Same with Stekelenburg, his contract also runs out in 2012 and he may go for as little as 7m too. United will sit tight and see what happens as both keepers have said they would join United so that is half of the battle won there.

Ed i keep seeing neuer to Manchester United de gea to Manchester United akinfeev to Manchester United but no Lloris? i think hes the best outta all of them and i have seen him play many times he looks world class already dare i say best keeper in the world? {ed's note - difference is the club he is playing for plus Akinfeev is on a contract that is rapidly running down. Lloris would cost a lot more and his club don't want or need to sell, that means the offer has to be so high they can't refuse.}

Sydney! {ed's note - hey mate, there are a number of young Chileans about, Isla is a not so young one that is of interest. There was one in particular who played in a youth comp over the summer, but I can't remember what level it was, U20s I think but I am not entirely sure, who was being scouted by United in that comp. At least his agent and club claimed he was, I have been trying to find some articles on it but I can't find anything. I can't even find anything about the tournament on the FIFA site, I was hoping to find a squad listing to remind me of the name of the lad. He was very exciting to watch, but then the whole Chilean team were. Sorry I am rambling on but it is bugging me, can anyone remember what youth tournaments Chile were in during the summer months?}

Sydney! {ed's note - I found out the tournament, it was the 2010 Toulon tournament mate. I think it was Munoz they went to watch, but Rubio and Toro are two other names from that squad that are standing out. But I think that is because they played well, I am pretty sure it was Munoz they looked at.}

@United Editor, did you ask original Ed about the 'up & coming' Chilean youth? When i shared my Chile marketing/Sanchez theory with the original Ed about three weeks ago he told me that the foundations being laid may not be for Sanchez, that there are some very talented Chileans coming through the ranks.
Did you speak to him about that?

What do you guys think about Sergio Canales? He isn't getting a look in at Madrid, but is clearly a great talent. Talk Sport claim West Ham and Bolton are looking at him, but I think he's better than those clubs (no offence). What do you guys reckon?

To be honest Sydney! I do not think Fergie would spend big with an unlimited budget. He would buy a few players who he though would improve the squad but he is a very intelligent man and I doubt he would spend like City have been doing.

It would not be prudent of me to disclose how I know this, but just a few things for you to think about.
1) PIK's paid off by the Glazers on 22nd November 2010, part of the deal, tidying up prior to sale.
2) Where did United go for winter break last year?
3) What massive footballing figure was in Doha recently to back the WC 2022 bid?
4) Where have Manchester United recently set up academy's?
Just a matter of time watch this space.
@I would like this to happen as the club would be out of debt and safe, what i would hate is for Fergie to be given unlimited funds to buy players with, i hate what Chelsea & City have done, i would hate for United to stoop down to their level.
Two or three good signings yes, but no way would i want a bunch of mercenaries playing for us bought with a sugar daddy's money.
It would make me sick!

Nick Ajose is going to stay on loan at Bury for the rest of the season, having scored 6 in 11, in order to let his game develop. Realistically hopefully he will adjust to the physical nature of the game and take a step up to the Championship on loan next year. At 19, he is still very young and it is a shame some people are ready to write youngsters off at this age.
Eikrem is going to be offered a new contract before he is sent on loan to Molde, after the new year, in attempt to develop his game further.
No insider knowledge, just spreading the word.
