Saw a rumour that Anzhi are willing to pay 35M euro for Nani, not sure if true but if indeed it was, I would fly from DR to England and take him to Russia myself. On the other hand, Barcelona has confirmed David Villa will join Atletico Madrid so that's another rumour put to bed.

They would be willing to pay what we want? €15m.

Perhaps that's salary included?

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd throw Anderson, Bebe and Macheda in too for €35m

Nani may not want Anzhi

Agree1 Disagree1

I can't see for one minute Nani wanting to play over there, in my opinion it would ruin his career.

Villa was nothing more than wild speculation anyway. A few people trying to make 5 out of a pair of 2s.

Agree4 Disagree0

He has done that himself.

Whatever happened to Juventus being interested in Nani? They don't really have any proper wingers, i'm sure he'd be open to the strongest team in Italy.

Ozwald

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm sure if Giaccherini gets sold they could be in for him.

-Nani representatives with Anzi and Roma

I will be a little sad to see nani go. Yes he did not perform last season, but he was excellent the season before. He had a lot of injuries last season. I think if we let him go we lose creativity/ unpredictability. Young and Valencia are too one dimensional on the wings.

ED's what do you think about the need for a CB? Would Kurt Zouma not be a better fit? {Ed007's Note - If Ferdinand and Vidic stay fit I don't think there is any need for a CB this summer.}

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree ED, but can't ignore the fact that both last season and the season before we went through a period where we were playing midfielders in defence. Vedic and Ferdy are world class, but suspect in terms of fitness and pace. Maybe we should cash in on one whilst they have a resale value.
I don't feel garay is the solution.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed007

That is a big if given their age and the number of games we play. I have also never understood why we are constantly being linked with different CB's but must be because the club does not see Evans or Smalling ready yet to step in.

We have always had 4 genuine CB's and looks like we will have 6 guys and lot's of rotation.

Shahram {Ed007's Note - Evans has really improved and Jones is another year older. Smalling seems to be having a rough time with injuries. I know everyone goes on about Hummells but personally I would prefer Subotic, I like my CB's to be big, strong and physical with a bit of a mean streak and crazy glint in their eye lol. A couple of years time then with a CB pairing of Jones/Subotic, although I end up arguing with myself over Jones, I keep thinking he could be a Roy Keane type of MF. I am really looking forward to watching Jones mature as a player, I think he is a fantastic player and I was delighted Man Utd managed to sign him. I wouldn't be overly disappointed if Garay is brought in this window.}

Ed007 in reply to your post above I agree with you I look forward to seeing jones progress just because sir bobby said he could be as good as duncan edwards and that is really exciting

Ed's

Can you tell me when your ebargo is likley to pass?

I hate the fact the WUM's have driven you guys away. Although I may not post often (in fact may have been a good 6 months since my last) I read the site everyday.

Your input has always been welcome and often requested by many on here.

Since you stopped replying and providing info the page has definately gone downhill. Posts are few and far between and I find myself double checking the last updated time stamp to confirm i'm not losing the plot.

On to a rumour I have been fed.

Moyes is to announce at least 1 signing before the start of the tour. It's expected to be Thiago but again this is only hear say that I have been fed from a mate who's brother works at carrington.

Fergie maybe gone but we are just as bloody tight lipped as always. ; - ) {Ed007's Note - I had a few days off last week and now Ed004 is away on holiday. Ed002 is very, very busy elsewhere. I'm sure she will be back as soon as time allows. Just don't be moaning at me because I don't know have the same knowledge as Ed002.
You never know, it might even encourage people to use the improved search function rather than bombard us Eds with the same question over and over again.
As you guys all know we rarely make any money from theses sites (that is 100% truthful, remember we had PayPal buttons because things were that bad financially) and are lucky to cover the running costs most months. We do these sites for our love of the game and our individual clubs and will always do our utmost to keep them free to use.
We don't hit-whore, making up crazy stories just to attract traffic, if we have any info we are quite happy to share it but if it isn't what you want to hear or you don't agree with an Eds opinion there is no need to abuse us, the level of abuse aimed at Ed002 was nothing short of vile and disgusting, I actually wanted to get the police involved.
You get a good debate on here and some decent banter so let's not waste it. My pet hate is anonymous posts that start "I think...." if you don't have a name nobody cares what you think, most anonymous posts I just delete anyway, 99% of them are garbage.
So the next person that mentions an Eds 'strike' or embargo is going to get a swift cyber-boot to the Haw-Maws. Lets get back to the football......

Believable51 Unbelievable6

So - does that mean you have embargoed the embargo? Lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007. How do I use the search function? It doen't seem to be at the top of the page anymore.

Thanks in advance. {Ed007's Note - Sorry Thomas, there is an improved search engine been developed, it just hasn't been implemented on all the sites yet. It will be a.s.a.p.}

Ed007 - that is the most sensible thing I think i've ever seen on here.

I've no idea who was abusing Ed002 but if it really was that bad then they have all my support for doing what they did, along with all the other Ed's

Perhaps, as others suggest, making login's a requirement will help a little with a 3-strikes rule for those that get out of line

All of the regulars here, and some of us (Myself included) that are more casual users do appreciate the hard work you all put in.

Now, as you said. back to the football people! {Ed007's Note - Thanks.}

Well said Ed007

I have found myself hooked on this site since midway through last season. It stands out from all the other sites simply for the Ed's. The replies are always thought out and bring us optimistic fans back to reality checks and point out key points. I check the site Several times a day and have really been missing the Ed input. So nice to see an Ed :) Like Ed007 points out. they don't sell us stories just so we come on. they infact look to rubbish stupid claims. Much Love

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007, Thanks for the clarification, no one should suffer abuse for contributing in any way to this site. I do think a published Code of Behaviour would help and any inappropriate posts would not be published. Serial offenders should be automatically banned. I'm sure the vast majority would support such a move. {Ed007's Note - That's maybe something we could look at.}

Well said

I along with most others respect and appreciate the time and effort the eds all go to to make this site what it is. Yes, I was unhappy that you took the stance you have but I hold my hands up and apologise. I was maybe too naive as to the extent of the severity. I wish you all well and again must say thank you to all the effort you do to for this site. It just goes to show that without all you eds the site would be nothing! :-)

Adz {Ed007's Note - Cheers Adz.}

Agree1 Disagree0

To the eds I thank you for the time you take to do this site. I love reading from the regulars and the eds, I don't have any inside info but I love checking this site, easy best MU site around! So I would love for there to be a login or something to keep the united fans to this page only, any crap then Peeps are gone. A big thank you again and I'm sure the regulars feel the same way.

The best thing is, is that it shows how much we take the eds work for granted. It's like its routine and expected. Now we all can see what they all bring to the site. Everyone contributes and it's admirable. The Eds bring that littl bit more though and I'm sure when all are back then they will all be respected that litte bit more!

Adz

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007, I'd be happy to help with a draft code of conduct if that would help. {Ed007's Note - I wrote a code of conduct for new Eds, we could probably trim that down if we wanted to, thanks for the offer.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I have been absolutely addicted to this site since last summer. The Eds do an amazing job and any abuse given is totally wrong. This site wouldn't be half as good if you guys weren't here to answer questions and offer opinion. Bring in a login only application for posters, and then ban posters who break the rules/are abusive ect. Would solve a lot of this. Thanks Eds for all the work you put in!

007 - that response has made me decide to properly register on the site. I don't post all that often but I read the site every day and have done for 3 or 4 years now. The "strike" has made the site a lot less enjoyable so I've registered as a small gesture of my appreciation for ALL you eds. Keep up the brilliant work.

Fair play bond. well said mate.
People either want to be on here or they dont. if you don't then go away and don't ruin it for those of us who love the page.

Keep up the good work mate. your replies are legendary. and that's praise indeed from a sarcastic Irish person

An interesting day or two in the rumour mill I think.

Strootman seems to not have an offer from us? Yet we are so sure that he will be the one to come in - not sure how this could pan out. Has Moyes got more interest in Kondogbia? Thiago deal is nearing its end but its dragging out as we haggle as always. Moyes wasn't has committal as people think over Rooney, all he said was he isn't for sale and is training well. That does not mean he wants to leave. I still think he is on his way.

I imagine we will not see much over the next two weeks. Perhaps Thiago, maybe Garay but not much else. I was hoping for a lot more before the start of the tour but what can you do! Deals take time.
