Hey eds. is it looking increasingly likely that Thomas muller may leave bayern Munich? If so which clubs are interested in him. Thanks

Believable12 Unbelievable7

{Ed002's Note - Very, very much so - a decent question at last.}

I would hope that if he is going to move we would go in for him as I think he is best used on the right of a front 3 and can play across the front anywhere if needed. A front 3 of Rooney, RVP and Mueller would be devastating with Mata behind then 2 new centre mids or Fellaini and someone like Classie sort of a 42121.

Agree1 Disagree1

Would suit the Premier is a good option better than Sanchez or Di Maria if you ask me but if he was avaliable would anyone but us try to sign him and would he join a team with no Champions League

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not leaving bayern, schweinsteiger maybe but reckon ol Woodward will make a joke of all needed signings til World Cup is over

Agree0 Disagree2

Ourselves and Barcelona are interested in him. Hopefully it's our offer that has turned his head recently.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be happy getting Muller, with his Van Gaal history we would at least be in with a shout.
I also think getting him would allow for Rooney or Hernandez to be sold. I would still look at Sanchez/Di marea/ukranian chap as well and try and keep Nani as support

By support do you mean sat on the sides cheering them on?

Am I the only one who thinks this would be a terrible signing? Muller is a great player but he is not the quickest. We have some great players in the forward positions but what we lack are players that are blessed with pace and get chalk on their boots. A front 3 of Rooney, RVP and muller would seriously lack pace and width! we can't make the same mistake we did with signing Mata - a great player, but not the type we desperately need.

Agree2 Disagree0

Why would Rooney be part of the front three? I would be surprised if he wasn't in midfield next season.

Agree0 Disagree2

I wouldn't be suprised if he's on the bench next year never mind midfield. his first touch at the moment reminds me of a guy who plays sunday league football for my team.

Agree1 Disagree1

Any interest from United in mueller ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United and Barcelona are still interested in Muller. Interest from Manchester City, Lazio and Chelsea seems to have waned.}

How far has our interest gone so far Ed002? Are we in discussion with Bayern?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Give me a break - this is becoming terribly anal again.}

Hey Ed, thought I'd ask this one on the United page. Any truth in the rumours that Juventus quoted United a figure that they would accept for Pogba?
Thanks for any answer.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - It is conjecture based on discussions with two other clubs and vGaal saying he thought Pogba was nifty or whatever.}

If you don't mind me asking, which clubs were those discussions being held with?
Anyways, thanks for the info as always.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea and Real Madrid - possibly PSG as well.}

Thanks a lot, Ed, great stuff as always :)

Is it true that mangala wants to move to United? and are we interested in him? He would improve our defence a lot.

Believable15 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Eliaquim Mangala has been watched by many clubs but an unreasonable termination clause and a third party ownership issue put most off firming up enquiries. Although both Monaco and Chelsea approached Porto about a deal, it would need a negotiated price to stand any chance of completion. The price has seemingly not dumbed interest from the Manchester clubs. I am told by that Mr Moyes had someone looking at Mangala on behalf of Manchester United towards the end of the season and there has been a flurry of activity from Manchester City - and both clubs fear interest from Real Madrid if they lose Varane. However, without a negotiated price a move seems very unlikely.}

Do any of the Eds or regulars know of apparent interest in Thomas Vermaelen? Seems an odd one to me to be honest.

Believable2 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Yes but not from MUFC.}

Barcelona have apparently ended their interest in Hummels due to the double ankle injury he had last year.

Something we should think about before we think of signing him.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona and Manchester United both maintain an interest in Hummels but Dortmund do not want to sell.}

Ed002 I've had a scroll through the posts but can't find this one. I think I saw you comment that United have taken an interest in Hector Moreno of Espanyol. I know he played under LVG at AZ, so do you see United bidding for him this window or is he a fall back target if we don't get the likes of Hummels? Thanks.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I expect Manchester United to look to buying two centre backs and, yes, there has been interest shown in Moreno. I am not going to speculate whether or not the club will make a bid.}

I think 2 cb are vital

Agree0 Disagree0

Two center backs are important as I don't think that LVG will be confident that Smalling, Jones or Evans will do the business. Hector Moreno looks to be a good player. I would like Hummels but the ed says that it is unlikely. Indi another option.

Agree0 Disagree0

No problem Ed thanks.

I heard Barca were looking at Moreno as well so if Hummels stays where he is then maybe they'll go for him along with us?

I feel 2 CB's would be ideal however, one of them have to be an experienced and top class CB. The other could be a youngster with potential to be very good. Ideally we get Hummels and Ginter but that won't happen. So Hummels and Moreno?

Agree0 Disagree0

Can any one give a shappy like description of our cb targets? i'd like to see martins indi come in all that I have seen and read he seems to be a top talent but I worry we need a bit of experience with the likes of jones and smalling. Maybe evans should be ready to take the role of the leading cb.
