if we are looking for a DM, how about Tiote of Newcastle? Has bags of energy, built like a house, has a decent shot on him and covers alot of ground. We REALLY haven't replaced Keane since he has gone. Yes we had Hargreaves but that didn't work out.

We never replaced keane because we didnt need to, he wouldnt fit in now'a days in the prem, but i agree with tiote i think hes a class player i think we could mold him.

His passing ability is a worry, he isn't great. I would choose a fit Hargreaves over Tiote any day.

Keane wouldn't fit in in the modern PL? Are you serious?

What is it that you think Keane did? Snarl at the opposition and run around the pitch kicking people. Keane wasn't a defensive midfielder, he was a box-to-box all-rounder. Very good passer of the ball, top tackler, great positional awareness and he was even known to score a goal or two. But above all he could dictate the flow and tempo of a game. Scott Parker is essentially a bargain basement Keane and people have been raving about him for the last two seasons. Keane in his prime would walk into any current PL starting 11.

I do also like Tiote, but me thinks Newcastle are asking for a bit too much.

Keane wouldnt fit in now'a days. you kidding me. look at all the top teams they all have their own 'keane' so to speak. xabi alonso closest of comparison in my opinion.

and regarding tiote, as tough as a tackler he is i feel he's another carrick with the form of season 2010/11

Who's barcas keane then?

Agree0 Disagree0

Just cuz barca play a possession game does nt mean we have to follow though.they still have biscuits and mascherano who if needed could play that role.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some muppet said the old fashioned dm isnt a modern day role now and all those pretending to know something to know about the game are repeating it.

Agree0 Disagree0

All the top teams have a holding midfielder and if we are going to take on the likes of Barca, we need to have someone who can stop the passing in the middle. This is why i don't like seeing Giggs in the middle against younger players, Carrick don't put himself about, Anderson don't always play, Jones i prefer at the back.

Ed? Or anyone else? Don't you think juventus would of come out by now for a good bit of media coverage for themselves if Pogba has signed a pre-contract?
I myself can't think of a reason why they wouldn't of unless the agreement hasn't yet been signed or there is some legal reason because of age terms or manchested united contractual reason. After all, something is going on but no statement from anyone and all news apparently from a newspaper based in UAE.

Supasub {Ed001's Note - well they might be trying to sort out terms with United, regarding compensation, before any announcement.}

heard that united might go after pique and so might chelsea

Believable9 Unbelievable32

Where did you heard this? Can't see him wanting to leave barca personally!

Agree0 Disagree0

The only reason he left was because he was home sick. SAF confirmed this at the start of the season and admitted it was a conversation with pique's mother that made him agree to him leaving.

Agree0 Disagree0

May as well get Messi when we are there aswell so

Saw a little while back a link from the united page on facebook
