whats happening with javi Martinez ed? is it utd who have enquired because i cant find out on sky sports news
likkle duggo {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any firm interest from Manchester United and for me the original Spanish article was purely speculation but if any English club has enquired it will likely be Manchester United or City. I was told a few weeks ago that Inter Milan may make a bid for Javi in January if they decide not to take Juraj Kucka from co-owners Genoa. I am not convinced that Bilboa will want to sell the player in January, and if they do they will want something over 40M euro.}

Javi Martinez is a class player and still young aswell. I reckon 80% of the fans would like him at Old Trafford but there just doesn't seem to be interest in him by the club.

It's a shame really because it's so easy to see that he is the type of player we need in our midfield.

Utd will be looking to sign moroccan international Mehdi Benatia from Udinese for a fee of around 8 million pounds.

The defender has already confirmed that it will be his last season in Italy and has invited interest from Man utd, PSG, Chelsea.

The versatile defender is renowned as a centre half, but can also play in defensive positions left and right of midfield. summer transfer news...

Just read his tweet, not a clue who it could be. Definately won't be city and if it is then they're going over the top with midfielders. Its stupid they have Nasri, Silva, Milner, Barry, De Jong, Toure and Hargreaves who can all play centre. Yet he still says he needs more players? Mancini is ruining football.

I imagine it being Arsenal, can't see it being City or Chelsea. Would be highly disappointed though if he was to go to another PL club.

City held numerous talks with the representatives of a certain De Rossi during the summer, so it could easily be City I am afraid.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd heard it was a London club but not the one you'd expect....

Agree0 Disagree0

Is city, unsurprising.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was Man City.

If they get him i am gonna be fuming! I am sick to death of them just buying players for the sake of it. Its like "We'll take him, so nobody else can" THEY DONT NEED HIM. Ruining football like i said, not only Sheikh Mansour but Mancini is to blame too.

RedDevil92

What a surprise, it was City. This must mean that De Jong will become available, although not to us.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it a done deal or was there just talks held?

YankSAW

I'd imagine then if this went ahead that they would have to have some sort of clear out, they have about 20 bloody centre mids already

Agree0 Disagree0

Balague seemed to be stressing that it was only an enquiry, but surely if we have any interest it has to be moved forward soon..

Hi ed, we purchased De Gea in the summer. We (apparently) bid £15mill for Tiago Alcantara before he signed a new contract but we failed to sign him. We tried to sign Canales but narrowly lost out to Real. Do you think there is agenda to pick up the best young Spanish talent where possible? Which would suggest that we are seriously looking at Martinez & alba but also rumours surrounding Soriano (although not so young). The Di Maria rumour is also interesting as we apparently tried to sign him for cash plus nani the January before he signed for Real. I believe this is the player SAF has mentioned before as the player who lost out on as a deal had been done by the club before our move on him (be FICA & real). He is apparently a boyhood fan of ourselves! I think he would make an adequate replacement for giggs if Real let him go. I'm also not sure on the Gotze situation. Although I would love to see the player come to the club, when was the last time SAF signed a german? It just doesn't happen.
What do you think ed?

Any interest that Manchester United have in Di Maria will likely be met with the same answer Chelsea were given in Los Angeles, that he is not available.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona have already been knocked back by his club and Goetze himself has made it abundantly clear that he wants to stay at Dortmund for this season, although no doubt a very significant offer would be listen to. Real Madrid may be able to persuade him to move. He has identified his favourite teams as Barcelona and Arsenal. There is also interest also from AC Milan - and I suspect that they are shifting their interest in Ganso to Goetze due to persisting non-EU quota issues. There may be some, so far unpublisized, interest from elsewhere coming up soon.}}

Poor Ed002 has to repeat the same stuff again and again. Give him/her a break guys!

REDFAITH

Wouldn't want Di Maria anywhere near OT. The guy turned us down for Madrid, he had his chance and thought we were the inferior club - no way should he be given a chance to actually win things with a club like MUFC.

RED_SKY

I think if we do go in for Martinez it would be easier in the January transfer window as it would prevent a large scale bidding war as not many teams add during January unless lacking a position or due to injury. If we wait till summer i could see a bidding war between a few top clubs. However IF we were interested and bid for him it would have to be 25mil + for it to be considered as i find it highly unlikely Bilbao will want to sell.

RedDevil92

I don't necessarily think that Manchester United have an agenda to pick up Spanish youngsters. The club have for years picked up talented youngsters from across the globe.

I do agree that Javi Martinez should be high on our list of potential transfer targets. He would link up very well with Cleverley and be a class addition to the midfield.

Also does anyone know if the galatasary wanting Berbatov rumours have any truth in them?

Cheers Adz
