Kerim frei looks a decent player, maybe worth a look at.
I also think Dempsey wouldn't be a bad player for us to have on the bench

Believable20 Unbelievable19

Lampard scored tonight too maybe we should look at him as well ?

Devil Dust.

Agree0 Disagree0

We dont need another player sitting on the bench what we need is a young talented midfielder

Agree0 Disagree0

Dempsey would be a great addition as a squad player as he is a grafter with an eye for goal. Although the money required to buy him may be or would perhaps be better put to acquiring a top player instead. If we got him along with another DM and CM and had him as a bench player then yes i would be happy with that but i cant see it due to money retrictions and the fact that he isn't a necessity.

Mad Hatter

Agree0 Disagree0

Dempsey plays more as a striker than a Midfielder. I would rather he replace berbatov than some cheap unknown, unproven striker. But if we can get a top striker like Benzema, Higuain, Cavani, Neymar(no chance here), RVP e.t.c then there is no need for dempsey.

Millz

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt that he would want to come to sit on the bench. At his age and with a relatively recent rise to prominence he will want to secure a good deal which will include playing regularly for a team in contention in Europe. If he wanted to watch Champions League he could get Sky Sports!

Hi Guys
with all this talk of next seasons mights and might nots I still think that the nucleus of our squad is good.I think if we added Lorente,Muniain and either Moura or Hazard that would make us very competitive in all competitions and all are also young enough to be around for years.

Bazza The Red

Believable10 Unbelievable24

I dont think we would need Muniain and Lucas Moura or Hazard. We have enough creativity coming from the wing i think we just need some central creativity. All are capable of playing centrally behind the striker though.

Everyone picking Huntelaar as a must buy in the summer ?

Cant see the thinking behind it myself he is 29 not the most mobile technically not great either IMO he chose Madrid ahead of us before and failed badly as he did at Milan this is the only time he has scored regularly since leaving Ajax (apart from international goals ) big doubts over him at a big club so for me no thanks.

Just my opinion.

Devil Dust.

Believable39 Unbelievable4

He's 28 not 29 he scored 8 for Madrid only started 12 games tht not bad and
Only started 13 games for Milan scoring 7 goals that not bad either

Agree0 Disagree0

We cant buy him til the summer when guess what he will be 29 (we cant sign him now).

How many games he started means absolutely nothing the point is he was at two big clubs and failed and got moved on cause he didnt hack it.

Devil Dust.

Agree0 Disagree0

And no if we signed him in summer he still would be 28 sorry ,, and that shows he is a proven goal scorer and a clinical striker

Agree0 Disagree0

He is 29 in august no name when does the season start ??

It proves he wasnt good enough or trusted enough to start.

Devil Dust.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with u devil dust, it's the motd fever. Hunterlaar is a slow player and like u said isn't the most technical or a prolific goalscorer. Also failed at all the big clubs he has been to maybe down to pressure. So a big no to him. Personally I don't think we need a striker, a cam/ss/am ie a versatile forward player is a better buy like hazard, gotze, munian, Rodriguez. if fergie is to build his next team on pace and technique then two from them players is perfect along with a world class cm, a lb and maybe a young player with potential.

Abs

Agree0 Disagree0

Huntelaar is one of those players who if u give him good service he will score goals but I can't see why people would prefer having Huntelaar to Hernandez who is the same type of player except Hernandez is also very quick where as Huntelaar isn't. After last season if you had asked any United fan Hernandez or Huntelaar I'm fairly certain 99% would say Hernandez and now because Huntelaar has had a great season and Hernandez has struggled at times this season suddenly Huntelaar is by far the better option? Not for me anyway.

Rjmanutd

Agree0 Disagree0

U can count munian gortz and hazard out coz they will not be coming to old trafford any time soon

Agree0 Disagree0

Too old i agree with devil dust.

i dont think we will see heavily investment in the squad next season. 1 or 2 additions.
Left Back and Midfielder, i dont see us going for a striker. i think owen will be given 1 more year,
Jay

Agree0 Disagree0

Strootman, Clyne, Cissoko is about the amount we'll spend -30 -40 million. I would love Martinez and Lucas, but won't happen. Hazard, Rodriguez though very good, are really wingers and we just don't need them.As for Huntalaar, he's a donkey, OK squad member for 7-8 million. he's slower than Berba and without his skills. I see him as Stoke level really. I think Strootman would be a top buy. My dream signing is Lucas 20 years old, fast, direct, skillful and can play anywhere in midfield or even as a striker. He'll be the next Messi or CR7. I think he's already worth over 30 million
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Abs "He isnt a prolific scorer" What? I am not even to google his stats but I would bet they are around a goal every other game. He DIDNT fail in Madrid either as another poster mentioned, he had a decent record, just like Michael Owen did appearance wise when there. He was just down the pecking order and sold for other priority signings.....However I would agree with original poster, he isnt technically hat great or quick, provide him with service and he will get goals but considering his age and the probably transfer fee, I see this as a total non-starter, flavour of the month as he is doing well in Germany but people on hear clamouring for him I also dont understand, still each to there own
Invisible Stuey

Agree0 Disagree0

I completely agree with Stuey Im not saying he is a bad player if you did supply him and alter your game to suit him he would score goals but he would not suit us at all.

Devil Dust.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stuey can u explain to me why he failed at both ac Milan and Madrid but did ok with all the other clubs he's played for including the great Dutch league. Also which good striker wouldn't score goals at united? If saf bought Hunterlaar it would mean a new system where everything goes to him ala van nistelrooy. This affects the goal scoring of others in the team. If berba is sold (most likely) then in my opinion we don't need another slow striker but a versatile player who can score and create goals which would give us speed and fluency in our attacks. At the mo we a slow and predictable.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some good points abs, but Hunterlaar has scored goals for all his clubs. Even at Milan and real madrid he had limited chances but scored goals. I agree we don't need him as he is slow and would add nothing to our attack. We have Chica who is a goalscorer and much faster. Also think gotze is impossible as he just signed a contract. Hazard and Rodriguez are great options. In my opinion I would sign both with nani leaving, get a cm like Martinez or m'villa and changed our system in Europe to 4231. If the glaziers allow saf to go for it then add Lucas moura aswell. Just imagine this team: de gea, Raphael, smalling, jones/ Evans, fabio

Agree0 Disagree0

Continuing : Martinez, pogba, Valencia, Lucas, Rodriguez, hazard, Rooney up top with the front 4 interchanging positions all the time. Amazing

Shaks

Agree0 Disagree0

Fergie has only bought 3 people over 27 in his time at utd

This summer I would bring in Martinez, Hazard & Huntelaar, for me this would be us sorted for years to come, with a left back(Baines) and a central defender(Hummells) added a bit further down the line.

Steven.

Believable13 Unbelievable34

The more realistic alternatives i think for the summer are Strootman, Rodriguez and Huntelaar. However i would like to see us get either Modric or Martinez. Martinez feels like a very difficult signing.

AV7

Agree0 Disagree0

Huntelaar chose Madrid over us last time we was in for him..so for the same reason we won't go in for Benzema again if he were available is the same reason we won't go in for Huntelaar.

You get one chance to join United, if you choose another club then that's it.

The Moon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Huntelaar is nothing special and no way would we get Hazard and Martinez in the same window, the money isn;t there for both, its one or the other and i doubt we will get both.

Strootman and Rodriguez would do me and i've herad Strootman may be on...

Agree0 Disagree0

Where did ye hear strootman could be on?to be honest he would be a saf signing and i would gladly take him hes a fantastic player.clyne,strootman,kovacic,hazard/rodriquez and we are sorted.i heard today though we are close to signing huntelaar?

Do you think that there would be enough cash in the bank to get both Modric/Martinez and Rodriguez? Ideally i would like Modric with Rodriguez. If the moey is there though, i hope that we sign Hoilett whp i think has so much potential.

AV7

Believable2 Unbelievable17

I hope we get modric, martinez and rodriguez all of them will help us to win the champions league

Agree0 Disagree0

I mean if the money isnt there, terrible spelling. Apologies.

AV7

Agree0 Disagree0

If the money isnt there then i think we should get modric or martinez as we've already got nani, young and valencia on the wing

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree bout Hoilett think he is very promising it baffled me why we signed young who was 26 and dnt get me wrong a good player not a great player and is 26 so has no potential really if u get me were hoilett is 5 years younger and as good as young with bags more potentially and is more direct with the ball

Agree0 Disagree0

Clyne, Modric, Rodriguez and Huntelaar are the ones that i want. Variations on that are of course good. I think that would definatly be affordable.

Manchester united compleat signing of james rodriguetz at 23£ million pounds today at 8:pm

Believable13 Unbelievable48

Very specific time
can i ask your source?

Agree0 Disagree0

Id like this to be right but unless you are SAF, david gill or James Rodriguez how would you know this!

parks

Agree0 Disagree0

U must be better informed than the majority of the manchester back room staff

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact the spellings wrong the currency sign is in front of the amount is a big give away

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance...no way united will pay that much. {Ed004's Note - 23 million seems a fair price for him tbh}

Agree0 Disagree0

It does ed young plays on the wing and upfront quick a level above gaitan, di maria
good goal ratio

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone know if this is true. I doubt it seeing as its not 8pm yet. Who is the poster of this david gill lol. Bookedredmole

Agree0 Disagree0

Its extremely likely u will be slated in about 20mins :P {Ed007's Note - 10....

Agree0 Disagree0

I haven't read any breaking news about it.

Our new No.9 to replace Berba should be Edinson Cavani.
For a No.7 replacement for mickie Owen should be Eden Hazard.
To challenge and possibly take over at left back from paddy evra should be cissokho as he wants to play for us.
James Rodriguez would be a good young signing if his price isn't sky rocketed. Your thought please.

Believable36 Unbelievable5

I dont even think their mates call them Mickie and Paddy lol.

I think most people on here would like to see Valencia as the new number 7, but I would take Hazard I must admit. I do not think we need Rodriguez and Hazard, if we got them both I think we would need to sell Nani as he would not play enough next season.

Cavani looks a good player but not sure if he would be at the top of our targets and may cost more than we are willing to pay for a striker.

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

I would like to see modric and hazard and let nani go if a decent offer comes in

cavani would be a good option but i think he will be expensive and would be good to see welbeck next season and looking a bring will keane through?

Agree0 Disagree0

I want to play for United, so can i replace Evra instead? Thanks.

On a serious note, would prefer Higuain to replace Berba.

Have a feeling we'll offer Owen a new contract instead tho.
