As I mentioned earlier today SNEIJDER does want to join MUFC. NOW I understand £33 million has been agreed between the two clubs.

HOW GREAT IS THIS NEWS

Before the summer I said I wanted 4 players,
SNEIJDER
YOUNG
DE GEA
RODWELL

I'll settle for 3 out of the 4...

Keep fingers crossed this does go ahead

PJ

Believable5 Unbelievable6

With the current state of the country would he still want to come thats the question

Agree0 Disagree0

Jones is better than Rodwell. You lucky devil, bet you feel like all your Christmas' have come at once.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did an angel of the Lord appear to you in the middle of the night and disclose this information to you?

Agree0 Disagree0

Phil jones plays like Rodwell so it's win win for u pj Jason mc

According to BBC website, inter agreed 33mill fee for ws...just need to agree personal terms

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Send me the link There's nothing on there

The Word

Agree0 Disagree0

The same guy then tweeted saying "There is NO agreement between MUFC and Inter" So its just back to waiting and seeing.

TK-Red

Where on the bbc website doe it say that now....think your telling porky pies mate

Now this is interesting...

1927: FOOTBALL - BBC Sport's Sam Lyon on Twitter: "Man Utd and Inter have reportedly agreed a fee of £33m for Wesley Sneijder. Player's representatives negotiating personal terms."

DB-Red

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Bulls**t. I just checked the live feed. There's nothing at 19.27. Why would you bother making this up?

Agree0 Disagree0

Go on the BBC breaking sports news page and you will see this story at 19:27 although if you look at 21:01 then there is another BBC sport journalist contradicting this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Follwed by Sam lyon then saying there is NO agreement yet.. :/

https://twitter.com/#/sampatricklyon

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit harsh as it was definitely there Maybe not at 19.27 But now the same guy has come out and said there is NO aggreement between Inter and United

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not making it up. Maybe you should check things before having a go dude

The neviller

Agree0 Disagree0

Try checking his Twitter account. He did, infact, post that terms had been agreed. Since then he has said that NO agreement has been made so far, going back on his earlier post. But if you're gonna get snotty with the original poster then atleast get your facts right.

From what ive heard Man City are now the front runners for WS they are offering Inter more money than Utd and WS a staggering 220 000 a week. WS prefers Utd but Utd have there offer on the table and will not budge from it hoping that WS will insist on coming to Utd, but in this day n age money talks and its a hell of a retirement package from city that Utd will near enough have to match if we want his signiture. Its not looking good hope we cough up a bit more

Believable2 Unbelievable12

Heard the latest? 33m agreed with inter from united personal terms being agreed this week

Agree0 Disagree0

Grow up clown if WS as you call him wants City's money then off he goes you may have not realised like City's owners that thousands of people are struggling to make ends meet and in the real world
and if WS wants to play for the biggest club then he comes to United simples
ARB

Agree0 Disagree0

You have been misinformed my friend. Unlike the Nasri issue Sneijder just told City that he is not interested in them. That's why Citeh were quick to distance themselves away from the running.

BBC 5 Live reporter...United have agreed a 33m deal with Inter for Wesley Sneijder. Personal terms being negotiated. Sneijder could be in Manchester tomorrow.

Believable5 Unbelievable7

I've been listening to 5 all day and no one said WS is coming for £33m. He did say "it has been rumored that Sneijder will be joining Man Utd for over £30m"

Sydney, Sneijder has no interest in City and will be a Utd player. He nailed his colours to our mast a few weeks ago and has not changed at all. All sorted. No interest in City at all. Sorry mate happily you have got this wrong.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

I hope I am wrong bud, but even though he may prefer a move to United, I think unless we cough up a similar amount to what City are offering, he will be a blue nose next season.

Sydney!

why is everyone going on about sneijder?
we have enough midfield talent already and anyway, we will just sign a gifted young player(as per usual)
we need to focus on getting an older goalie because, in my opinion, de gea is far too young to be our number one.

Believable5 Unbelievable11

Mate we have just paid 18 million for de gea dont think we will be getting another goalkeeper

Agree0 Disagree0

Okay first of all mate i hope you're not getting the impression de gea is too young by his display in the community shield because in all the other pre season games he's played he had stronger games.. he is going to be the best in the world in a dozen years time.. Also we're not going to buy another young player as we've already invested in our 'youth' players for this season, we need someone with a bit more experience to fill in for paul scholes which is why sneijder is perfect at the age of 27 he's just reached the peak of his game.. who cares if he has no re-sell value after he's done, we'd get enough money from all the other young talents united bring through..

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally disagree, we still need that world class playmaker in midfield and Sneijder is definitely the answer, I truly hope we get him, the likes if Cleverley and co. Can only learn and get better after playing along side him, come on Wesley you know it makes sense to join us at the Theatre of Dreams.

BONEYJOE69

Agree0 Disagree0

If your good enough your old enough, and he looked good enough on Sunday.

Yeah the goals looked bad but the defeence were culpable as much as if not more than the keeper.

1st goal no-one attacked it. Keeper was doing as has been coached and following the tecak of the inswinger. He was perfectly positioned to claim the ball if the defender missed the header. Instead Lescott got their first, which shouldn't have been allowed and he scored.

2nd goal, yeah he should have reacted quicker to the shot coming in, but where was the closing down? dzeko should never have been allowed to get a shot off.

Lastly is it me or did we actually look better at the back when Rio went off?

Rincewind

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate give de gea a chance. hey may have had a shakey start but he made some good saves and if fergie chose him over any keeper in the world then he is the right choice. in fergie we trust.

Park 3 Lung

Agree0 Disagree0

One game and your writting him off? will you be writing clevers and wellbeck off if they struggle? joke

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we pay £18 million for a back up keeper? Just give him a chance, i really don't think fergie would pay that money if he wasn't confident in him.

Also, did you miss the Barcalona game, our midfield isn't good enough. Yes it will hold up against a lot of teams and we have some young promising talent but it needs improved. 1 or 2 midfielders we need

Agree0 Disagree0

United looked all over for a keeper. Tell me a name then?

Agree0 Disagree0

We all talk about sneijder because he is brilliant, just because cleverly is being played now doesn't mean we can solely rely on him for attacking purposes, what if he got injured? De gea is Spain u21 keeper and was athleticos first choice, he is good enough, he's more than good enough, don't judge him on one performance

Agree0 Disagree0

I find it incredible that after one game you have decided we need a more experienced goalkeeper , in effect dumping De Gea.

If he is good enough he is old enough. He is good enough and I suggest we all support him rather than try to break him. I can only think those who are trying to suggest he is not ready or the one for us are perhaps not thinking about it, havent seen him or are not even united fans at all.
I support De Gea 100% and will do even if he makes the odd mistake. We need to give him time and stop this rubbish about needing a more experienced goalkeeper, just be happy we have one of the most sought after, talented goalkeepers in the world. Let him get on with it.

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

Lindegaard is a more than capable goalkeeper anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey poster dya think Fergie knows about our new goalie been to young?? This is most definately a worrying revalation :-) , someone needs to tell Fergie about this real Quick.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Imo i think lindegaard will be starting just as many games as de gea ..lindegaard looked very good in pre season and at 28 has plenty of exp

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok lads i think this dude gets the point and that hes wrong about De Gea, so instead of giving out and bashing him we'll just calmly explain hes got it a bit pete tong

Sure De Gea was at fault there is no denyin that like u can blame the defense for not closing down but the point is a keeper is a last line of the defense and its his job to clean up and stop goals like thag....however im not bothered by his display on sunday im actually impressed we have all seen this guy shot stopping and he really is the next best thing he is one of few keepers that stands till the very end and makes the striker decided which way to go, he has that discipline which is hard to find i might even be bold and say in the shot stoppin dep he will be better than VDS as hes more agile by the looks of it what i was most worried about was his discipline and attitude before he came however its not easy for a keeper to come back and hold his head high and have a second half like he did after making two howlers so im real impressed with that also i feel he has this attitude of relaxation about him that will send out an air of confidence to his defenders (we all play our best football when were concentrated yet relaxed)...mark my words expect big things from this keeper he wont make many mistakes and hes a smart man so will always learn if he ever does make mistakes think he will be better than VDS...oh im so very bold

Sneijder has stated he would like to join United Finally something concrete, maybe there is a chance.
PJ

Believable10 Unbelievable8

I saw this, if it's true then it shows he's trying to get this deal to go through as soon as possible

Agree0 Disagree0

Where has this been said? As u would like to see it because jonny heitinger on his twitter account has said sneijder did not come to England today but when will he;) so maybe things are moving forward (hopefully)

Agree0 Disagree0

We just need Inter to be a little more realistic in there asking price then he will come to us.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not saying this is a faulse post as I'm hoping sneijder signs but just wondering where you read/heard this? I've seen van der vaart interview being very leading?

Ports

Agree0 Disagree0

Google "Manchester united Sneijder". The news is everywhere but most notably in the Belfast newspaper report. Its reports on an interview Sneijder had on ESPN, all 100% true. Also VDV spoke live on SSN.
PJ

ED have u heard anything more to this yet? {Ed001's Note - all I know is that he will be going to Manchester from what I have been told, the only question is if he will be wearing red or blue.}

Obertan signs 5-year deal with Newcastle - SkySports

Believable13 Unbelievable5

I think we have really lost a good future prospect. Good player, won't be surprised if we go back to nick him at some point. Otherwise good move Obertan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good luck to him, last year he seemed to beef up a little, but didn't quite realise that potential and stake a claim, a capable player who requires playing time. Shame it's Newcastle, though.

Agree0 Disagree0

IMO he was never going to make the grade at Man Utd.... Newcastle is a team where he could shine though.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Good player but just got lost in the depth of talent. He will find success in Newcastle.

Sneijder will still be flying into England next week to meet with United officials despite the England game being called off

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Why would you fly out, to fly back in? he said he has 5 days off, so until next Monday. He'll be up there is this week...

Agree0 Disagree0

The sneijder saga will run on and on and by the end of the transfer window we will still not have signed him .. no more signings will come in now after cleverlys performance ...

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry mate, as much as Cleverley played so well, remember he is young and there will be nned for experience while we easy him in. WS is the player we need and i also hope we get Nasri as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Really hope we get Snejder and I know it will cost us a lot of money but he is one of the best midfielders in world football, delighted to see Cleverley get his chance on Sunday but he is not ready to mix it witht he big boys yet, we should use him this year for the lesser teams and see how he gets on

Agree0 Disagree0

Sneijder to United makes sense and I am confident the deal will happen. I think it will gain momentum now that Sneijder has said he is for sale and listening to Van Der Vaart earlier I got the distinct impression that he is United bound,
As for Nasri, well I can't see United getting him and Sneijder and I think Nasri will either join City now or sit it out at Arsenal until next summer when he will be a free agent.

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't need Sneijder. If he was priced at 15-20M fair enough. But he isn't and he is not worth it no matter how good he is. Cleverly and Jones are the future. Anderson will have a good season and look how we played in the Shield. Smalling lloks a gem, Evans is good back up, we have the twins. Valencia to come back strong again, Nani to improve further, Young, Giggs, Fletcher. Hell Carrick may just be the best sideways passer in the league Welbeck sharp up front with Owen, Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandez. Best Prem squad ever. Come on 20.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's already in England, he's In london with his wife x

Agree0 Disagree0

Cleverly and Jones ARE the future, you are right. But right now we need someone to help us dominate at home AND in Europe. Cleverley is great but has only just made his first start. Lets not expect him to take Barca and Real apart just yet eh?

TK-Red

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly.... people keep saying give the youths a chance, SAF will give them their fair share of chances no doubt, however, Jones, cleverly are the future they aren't experienced enough to take on the likes of Real and Barca. They are not permanent fixes but a futuristic one with the help of the experience boys. Sneijder, Giggsy, ferdinan, vidic, evra carrick. They only position on the team that does not have a back up is the attacking midfield. Sneijder is very welcome at OT regardless of is price tag. A temporary fix with a wealth of knowledge and experience to pass on to the lads... diego

Give Cleverly, Welbeck, Macheda a chance. Dont need anyone else.

Players Out
Obertan
Gibson
Kuschaz
Mame Diouf

Believable17 Unbelievable13

Although i think 99.9% would love to see sneijder brought in, huge signing for man u

Agree0 Disagree0

Mame Diouf..........why?????he have n't get any chance to prove

Agree0 Disagree0

Why Diouf out? At least give him 1 season to prove some sort of worth...

Mr. Good Cat

Agree0 Disagree0

To bad if diouf leaves, natural finisher with solid composure.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Macheda, Welbeck are much better, hes too far down the pecking order

Agree0 Disagree0

I fear that Macheda is a one-trick pony. Every time I see him play, all he does is try to replicate his goal against Villa.

I think we'll probably need Diouf at some point in the season.

Pritpal

Agree0 Disagree0

Macheda isn't and never will be Man Utd class. He's no pace, control, dribbling ability. Look at his 1st team stats - 3 goals and an assist. He only looks good in the reserves and then only against the smaller teams.Sell him the 3 or 4 million will go towards a good midfielder.

not a rumour but Ryan Giggs tweeted (@RGX11) That he is "excited about the coming week re: big signing". He says he cant say much. Take it as u will. So there will be another signing- a big signing.

Believable14 Unbelievable13

Giggs doesnt have any twitter account...this is a fake account..so dont get excited..
Nani, rio, rooney, owen, jones, are the players who have acounts on twitter...and there are debates over Valencia and De Gea's accounts...except those no Man Utd first teamers has twitter acc...

Agree0 Disagree0

Macheda has a twitter account. He's quite funny too.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pretty sure Valencia's is real, Rio has spoken to him on it before

Ed002, do you know if Chelsea are still interested in Sneijder at all? There were a lot of "Sneijder to Chelsea" stories when we expected Hiddink to be appointed. Since AVB has come in, those rumours cooled very quickly. It just seems like he'd fit perfectly into the current Chelsea team, especially now that Pastore won't be coming. And why are you not so keen on Modric?

Matthew... {Ed002's Note - I don't see it likely that Chelsea will interrupt Manchester United's plans for Sneijder. Modric is a good player but I struggle to see him being worth anything close to the prices being quoted. I am certainly not sure he is good enough to change games.}

Believable8 Unbelievable5

Do you think Modric will get his transfer to Chelsea this summer?

England match could be intresting now that lamp's has pulled out as well, good chance cleaverly could get a start ,should be good to see him against sneijder and co.
jred {Ed002's Note - I suspect that due to issues in London and that the police may be needed elsewhere, that the game will be called off at some point today.}

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Yeah it's been cancelled already.. :/

it's going to be interesting if these reports about sneijder having a medical after the game because if the game is cancelled there would be no need to visit? unless he's signing for a certain MUFC? :D

A transfer merry go-round is just going to start with

Sneijder - ManUtd
Tevez - Inter (for Maicon + Eto'o)

After getting Sneijder all we need is a a fullback. I hope we have someone in the academy like Marnick Vermijl. Dont know others

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Vermijl looks useful. I think the fact that Fergie has been testing Chris Smalling at right back means that he's the alternative to Rafael Da Silva for the moment. Remember that it was Fabio Da Silva that started the CL Final.

Michael Keane will be a decent right back, but not ready for the first team yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah we need another defender after ... Vidic Ferdinand Jones Smalling Rafael Fabio Evra Fletcher (can slot in ) Valencia (can slot in) carrick can (can slot in )

Agree0 Disagree0

And Evans to, when he plays with confidence he is very good at any position in defence.

these rumors about WS are wrong i am a Manchester united fan for 32years and they are not going to sign a super star never did and never will, i have seen fernado gago in a hotel in Manchester i dont know much about him all i know is he plays for madrid and is a holding midfeilder? any idea edd?

Believable8 Unbelievable11

Not another scouser on here causing s**t

I have been a united supporter for 33 years and yes we are trying to sign him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never signed a super star? Are you forgetting Sebasti?ɬ°n Ver?ɬ?n.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have one.
Your statements read like others on here.
We have signed stars before and usually do every season.
To say you dont know much about Gago is again more lies,
If you dont know much about him....How did you recognise him? i for one wouldnt.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have been informed Gago could be part of the adebayor (Soz spelling) deal??

Agree0 Disagree0

Was it a premier inn? Was Lenny Henry there aswell..

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest, the fact david gill has come out and said he will only buy players who are world class, and will benefit the team, and if they become available? for me, a world class, beneficial player is a superstar, and sneijder is now available. if we get him, great, i for one can see it happening before spurs next weekend.

I've only been a united fan for 31 years so I can't comment
