Inter accepted bid for Sneijder to Galatasaray. It's over! No more talks ever again!!

Believable19 Unbelievable26

Doesn't mean sneijder will accept it though. It's clear he's holding on for united... I think he will be dissapointed. That ship has well and truly sailed. He had his chance and sadly for him his diva-like wage demands have stuck in fergie's throat. I very much doubt Fergie will review this option. Enjoy Turkey Wesley!

Agree1 Disagree1

8 million . This has to be a serious option for Fergie. Exactly the world class type player we need. Wages maybe a sticking point but its nearly 20 million less than we were willing to pay for him 12 months ago.. C'mon Fergie get the finger out,,

Bullseye50

Agree2 Disagree0

I hope we are just biding our time and will make an offer for him! He would make us a better team.

Midlands Red

Agree2 Disagree1

I have always said i would love WS in a United shirt and that hasn't changed.

There is only a handful of players out there to replace Scholes and i think Sneijder is one of them, 8m for a world class midfielder would be great business, his wages are another matter however if he wants to play at the highest level i can't see him joining Gala.

I understand everybodies concerns but we didn't blink an eye lid when we signed bebe for 7.5m and has hardly played a game, we have sold a few youngsters lately - 2m for Brady maybe some of this money could go towards a deal?

Playing him deep spraying balls to wings and RVP could be a real gem from SAF and i believe he could be the only manager to get him back to playing like he was a few years ago.

Giants14

Agree0 Disagree0

If this 8 million figure is accurate, I totally agree. Sign him now!

A world class player with 3/4 years left on him of top level football.

Glaziers and co can't cry about money now, snap him up

Agree0 Disagree0

Gd player but like modern players to greedy gd luck wiv the turkish rubbish league! fergie sign him up! if wages are resonable

Agree0 Disagree0

Id rather not sign him and keep RVP happy....

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jan 2013 10:34:00
Sneijders agent is dismissive of a move to Turkey. Utd and Man City are still watching the situation closely. If his wages could be agreed he'd be a bargain at £8 million and would hugely improve our creaking midfield. We gambled on Cantona and I think Sneijder is worth a gamble as well.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jan 2013 11:48:28
nowhere near united class not with that attitude

Agree0 Disagree0

Why woud we want him?!?!?!?! He is obviously more bothered about a few extra grand a week, on an already inflated wage may i add, than to pull on the united jersey! Don't want him, that's not the breed we accept here in the red side of manchester. If glory signings is all that excites you about being a United fan, then sorry but you should be blue.

Inter have accepted the offer from Galatasaray for Sneijder. Apparently £8m rising to £10 with appearances and achievements.

Believable17 Unbelievable13

Good, that means that he won't be here.

Fresh!

Agree2 Disagree0

I was hoping United would come in with a last minute attempt for Sneijder as they were willing to pay £25million 18 months ago and seeing as he is now going for £8million I think that represents value for money as only united can make him one of the worlds most marketable players again to put towards his wage demands!

Agree1 Disagree0

8million pounds ffs fergie get him signed

leave the past behind on what happened when we intially tried to get him

get him now! he would complement rvp and rooney SO much

imagine having rvp and chico up top and then an attacking 3 of sneijder rooney and kagawa

holding midfielder like wanyama would need to be bought though to add some steel to the middle, but that team attacking wise would be unstoppable

Im not really clear on the loan moves rules, but should Petrucci return on february 9th, can he be loaned out to a non premier league club ? ( Bundesliga ... )

Good luck to Petrucci and Scott Wooton, officially confirmed that they both go on loan to Peterborough, but Petrucci will return on Feb.9, while Wooton is on loan until the end of the season.

T-O-I

Believable24 Unbelievable2

Why feb 9?, he might aswell loan him till the end of the season, he'll only come back to be playing in the reserves.

Keyz

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm hoping Petrucci deal is only temp to see if he plays. If he starts games & stars for the team in this months trial I'm sure he'll stay.

If things go well at Peterborough expect a Premiership loan in the summer.

TJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Its his first loan away from Old Trafford so they have just said a month to see how he settles.
All going well he will stay til end of season.

Believable20 Unbelievable16

From what I've seen and I watch a lot of championship football as my friend plays for Bolton, he's good at getting to the by line but in front of goal there's no end product but he's got bags of potential

Evra to PSG? Ashley Cole as a replacement? Frank Lampard to replace Scholesy at the end of the season? then on top of that i really expect to see Wilfried Zaha coming in. All these deals would be finalized in the summer and i can't see anything else happening, what do you guys think?

-JI

Believable17 Unbelievable31

I don't see Ev interesting PSG.

Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree3

I think this will finally be the year when we add some steel to our midfield so don't think that will be it. Carrick is getting on a bit now and as much as I would prefer someone else, he is the best we have got in his position right now. After this year I doubt Fergie will want to play him as much

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree we need a midfield enforcer strootman is possible but he apparently doesn't get on with RVP wayanama is a possible I personally would love to see Douglas costa we had interest in him previously he's like mani only better

Being told Sir Alex wants Iker Casillas as his prime target in January, United have conceded a combined 28 league goals this season the most of anyone up until Norwich in 12th, and Sir alex believes this could be his biggest problem towards winning the title, now that vidic is back from injury Sir Alex believes an experienced keeper would be enough to see them over the line first come April/May. With Casillas likely to be frozen out again at madrid once adan returns from suspention, the vetrans representative's have allegedly told a number of English clubs that if there was any movement from him England would be an prime location from him.
Whats your take on this eds?

What's wrong wit de gea going to be brilliant and world class imho he's only 21 what a talent fergie I'm sure can see through a few little issues he I'm sure will stick with I hope!REDWILL

Agree3 Disagree1

Well if he wants to stop conceding he should stop messing about with the defence. Almost none of the goals conceded have been de geas fault. Evra on the other hand........

Carl

Agree0 Disagree4

De gea is quality.

What we need to focus on is getting two full backs that can defend, one as first choice, one as a back up to rafael and a centre half to replace Ferdinand as he can't play 45 games per season anymore

I wouldn't be surprised if smalling and jones were the first choice pairing at the back as of next season.

Plus there's the obvious need for a midfielder, maybe 2 as it is likely that scholes will retire at the end of the year.

Agree2 Disagree1

Forgot to sign my last post

Philiphs93

FFS wish people would get of De Gea's back. He will be class. He is young and learning all the time and as above states its mainly shoddy defending not goalkeeping that's caused goal leaks.

Also rumoured that Reading have made an approach for Wellbeck. b*******? Or is there fire behind the Lewandowski smoke. I can't see him being released unless a replacement was lined up.

This looks a no go story.
Saf always keep 4 good strikers to rotate. Considering that its rvp. Rooney. Chicha and welback. If welback leave who wil cover?
Lewandowski story is for summer.. He may leave at that time.. Probably..
But still i dnt see a base in this

Rodio17

What do you make of the rumour (Fanatix) that LB target is now Bastian Oczipba from Frankfurt. Looks like the usual bull to me, especially the prices being quoted for someone that only has a handful of U19 and U20 caps to his name. But I must admit my knowledge of the German game is based on Astro limited coverage. Anyone know much about this guy?

Tottenham have dropped out of the race to buy wilfred zaha making utd the most likely destinatation for him

Believable40 Unbelievable11

Apparently all interested clubs have dropped out as they believe his mind has been made up and he is joining us. I guess we won't know whether he is joining us this month or in the summer until Nani's future is sorted. I guess if Nani is sold Zaha will come in now, if Nani doesn't leave til the summer then I imagine Zaha will stay at Palace til the summer on loan.

Syd or Eds

I don't know much about Zaha as i don't follow Championship as much as i probably should, is he Utd standard? worth the fee?

If so, i hope we sign him now and don't loan him back :)

Giants14 {Ed001's Note - for me he lacks end product. Most of the time he does some good things only to punt the ball into row Z. He has shown no sign of progress in that respect since I first saw him play in the youth teams. I don't understand the hype surrounding him at all.}

Jred, no I don't, I think we are a winger short and Nani will be replaced by a Rodriguez/Moura type player. But I do not think a proper replacement will be bought until the summer.

Giants, like the editor has said I agree with. I have always thought he lacks an end product. But there is something to work with there. He has potential.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

Didnt we think the same, when Ronaldo signed for United? Pretty classic that young players with lots of abilities, lack the end product. I guess if United decided to sign him, they see enough potensial for him to learn it.

Wooten and Petrucci going to peterborough on loan according to bbc gossip pages, people happy with this? Ive not seem much of either in all honesty but from what ive heard Petrucci is good enough to go to a prem team?

If these two go out then it does seem we are making room for a potential signing or 2.

Parks

Believable23 Unbelievable7

That is more like it, I did think Powell was too advanced for Posh.

Petrucci will get a EPL loan next season. Wootton will probably be sold.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

I would think it is a good thing that they are going on load - will get invaluable experience - but I doubt sending two fringe players out on loan is any indication that we are 'making room' for new signings

Agree0 Disagree0

Both will be played for dad. So a good move for pitch time and not a bad quality either.

Kuala

Agree0 Disagree0

Petrucci will be 22 next season, it would be nice to think he could be fighting for an odd game with the first team. Then he lost a lot of time with his major injury. So a loan to a prem team may well help.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Mik, age really is irrelevant. Like you said he has missed two full seasons with injury just like Cleverley did. I see him breaking into the side at 22/23 too.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd

Have you any ideas on why he isn't getting a sniff of the bench and the likes of Wooton are on it. Major example against Newcastle when we had no attacking options? I think he has great potential so hopefully he gets a chance.

Gar

Agree0 Disagree0

Gar, sadly for Petrucci and us he was injured or returning from injury for the remainder of the UCL group stages and the League Cup games. He definitely would have featured otherwise.

I think Championship for a few months and then EPL next season would do him the world of good.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahh, I hadn't heard of any injuries to him. Yeah, let's hope he does the business down there!

Gar

Agree0 Disagree0

Did Wooton not get a few games, only because we had so much defensive injuries at the time?

-JakeW {Ed002's Note - No new ones I can think of. The club has looked at and shown some degree of interest in many in recent months, but that does not mean bids will be made. Adryan Tavares, Sampirisi, Wanyama, Djuricic, Willems, Zouma, Halilovic, Feghouli, Rodriguez, Eriksen, Bender, Forren, Costa, Dede, de Vrij, Digne, Strootman, Zaha, Fischer, Lewandowski, Goetze and Ogbonna are examples.}

Davide Petrucci and Scott Wootton been sent on loan to Peterborough, (source thesun, i know!) wuda thought both players are good enough to play at a higher level, can't see much beneficial experience coming from playing a below par level of football in a relegation battle but maybe getting game time is the only option.Would imagine teams like Southhampton, Villa, Reading and even Sunderland could benefit from these guys but I could be giving their abilities too much credit.Opinions?

RedKen

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Will be good to see how they both do!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken, I think it's a good move til the end of the season. Wootton will be busy as they are in a relegation scrap. If Petrucci can stand out in a struggling team then he will have a great future here with world-class players. I would expect if this loan goes well for him he will get an EPL loan next season.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

First they have to put in performances and prove that they are good enough to play regularly in the championship, then they can take the next step and spend a season on loan at a premier league outfit. They should look at the path trodden by Tom Cleverley, Danny Wellbeck and Johny Evans who have all been successful in reaching the first team by this route. So far Wooton and Petucci have proved nothing appart from being able to compete in accademy and reserve team football which are a million miles from the proper thing when you are competing week in week out with men who are playing to pay their mortgages and support their families.
Raffa

Agree1 Disagree0

How good is Petrucci really? I've never seen him play who could you compare him to?

thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Would compare Petrcci to a totti type player however he plays a lot deeper than totti. Brilliant control, great eye for a pass and can shoot. his tackling and pace is not the best but he makes up for both with brilliant positional play.
if he can stay injury free and make up the progreess he missed due to a few years out with injury i could see him as a brilliant number 10.

I honestly think the boy is brilliant but with rooney and once kagawa finds his feet i cannot actually see him making the first team regurly.

Paso

Agree0 Disagree0

Suppose your right guys, guess Im just hoping for the next Wazza or Ronnie to pop out from our academy soon and with young lads full of potential Im a bit over eager to get them in there at the top and not mess up again like in Pogbas situation.Still think one of these days one of them is gonna get that start straight into the first team.Ill keep my fingers crossed.
