Good one MBD.

I thought we had some sort of policy about signing African players because of the biennial Cup of Nations in any case?

10 Jul 2015 12:04:43
A little bit of scaremongering perhaps, but some reports indicating that Chelsea are looking to hijack our interest in Otemendi. That is if we have a any interest in him anyway.
that's what ya get by dragging your heels Mr Woodward.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 12:15:23
I don't think it's strange having back up players that played well in the PL. RVP goes, Chicha not in LVG plans, so that leaves us with Rooney and Wilson and maybe another top striker. With Wilson lack of matches in the PL, I hope he goes on loan for the whole season at other PL club. I'm not saying that this rumour of Sakho is real, but it would be nice to have a striker with experience in the top flight. I hope we get Kane on loan for the season :D

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Jul 2015 12:32:48
Yeah just looked it up, can't see us going for him.

Just had a quick surf and there's several sites and papers saying that there's been an official bid for schweinstiger

09 Jul 2015 22:51:50
Some reliable people pointing out that the next few days are very decisive the in his future.

Agree4 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 23:20:42
Monday will be the decisive day, apparently they meeting over the weeken sweini n the chairman, looks like bayern will generously ask him to leave or be on the bench

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 09:08:21
Big V,

Let's hope that is what they ask him, because if they do he will be a United player before next week is out, not sure it will be as simple as that though, it never seems to be!

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 10:08:38
I think we have a pretty decent chance of this one. Bayern seem to want him to leave and LVG wants him, could be a good match. Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin would be two fantastic new additions to our midfield.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 13:34:13
It does seem that he is not wanted after rummigers comments about him being flattered. Not the words of somebody that wants to keep him if you ask me.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 13:40:36
would be very exschiting Fresh!

09 Jul 2015 17:24:08
Do we have any interest in Dominico Berardi? Could help Darmain settle in? Aswell as him being a good, young striker?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

09 Jul 2015 19:10:22
Torino chairman saying we haven't signed Darmian how can we never just do a simple signing is it too much to ask for us fans who go through the ringer ever transfer window

09 Jul 2015 19:22:07
Agreed nach its like pulling teeth.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 19:33:30
Cause torino coach said he was playing for utd next season in champions league what i believe torino chairman said all deals would have to be completed by 12 july the lad having medical tomorrow at carrington

Agree4 Disagree2

09 Jul 2015 20:05:14
Well if van gaal wants all the signings on the plane for USA tour Monday, it's going to be a 747 jet.
In reality tho I think it will be a 4 seater Cessna.
C'mon manutd get spending , If Mr Van Gaal does not improve on fourth position then it will be bye bye

Agree2 Disagree1

09 Jul 2015 22:14:34
It's looking like it's gonnae be schweinsteiger instead of schneiderlin with various reports saying we have bid for him don't think we would bother bidding if he didn't want to come unless were getting both I honestly can't see that tho so guys who do we want schweinsteiger or schneiderlin?

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 09:42:44
Would love both, but definitely Schneiderlin because of age, better fit for the position and EPL experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jul 2015 11:44:20
Both players prefer the deep midfield role which carrick plays so we don't need both of them. If we're looking for someone to take over after carrick then it's morgan all the way because bastian's getting on a bit now so we'd be replacing him within 2 years so what's the point.
I agree about the transfers, what does my nut in is the clubs take weeks and months to make decisions and get deals done yet on transfer deadline day they get it agreed signed and paid for in a couple of hours. I'm already fed up of the constant transfer speculation, I believe almost none of it now.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2015 22:40:07
Looking like Rvp is following Nani to Fenerbache. So we must have a striker lined up? Eds do you know of any potential replacements the club may be looking at?Hopefully not cavani or higuain. Would rooney and a potential striker coming in be enough up top?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed004's Note - Not sure who the club is targeting}

09 Jul 2015 19:05:10
I would love for Wilson and Janujaz ( he can play as a striker and is good at it) to share the responsibility. Any other team they would be regulars but just because they are at United there's extra pressure on them. A few matches of under par performances and the fans will turn on them. Plus other teams having more experienced strikers and still trying to strengthen makes me want to have a big name at United. It would be best for these two to get loan experience at some other premier league club and get directly in our team once ready.
As for United there are very few options and out of those also some are not for sale. Still not sure if Real would let Benzema go, Napoli is asking way to much for Higuain who is not that good, Kane would be a huge bargain for that price, Mitrovic has had two very good seasons though it was in a weak league, Lacazette has had one good season but looks like the real deal but is he for sale. Obviously there may be many others and the scouts and coaches would be having very different opinions from me , a reason being that they know their job better than me.

Agree2 Disagree8

09 Jul 2015 20:43:47
Why all this talk of a new striker now the RVP is leaving, surely LVG will be playing Fellaini up front with Rooney next season, with Wilson as the back up.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 21:47:29
Kane would be my number one choice mainly because of his age and nationality. I watched most the u21 euro games recently, and even though he was feeding off of scraps, he looked very dangerous when he got a sniff of a chance. Reminds me of Ruud a lot, except he is not quite as quick, but his overall game excites me a lot. Having said that I can't see him leaving spurs this summer, unless we go all out for him.

Agree1 Disagree2

08 Jul 2015 20:18:02
Ok, so this is the usual "a friend of a friend" type rumours & quite honestly is rehashing the same tired track we've heard enough so far, but a lad in my office claims he has a 'source' that's certain Kane will be joining us once RVP's off the books. I wouldn't hang my hat on it but can any of the eds give some insight?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed004's Note - Hopefully your friend is telling the truth. It makes sense that we are trying to sign a striker though}

09 Jul 2015 19:03:21
It's actually a rather concerning time with our options currently limited to Rooney and Wilson. Harry Kane would be a decent option but Levy will hike the price for what is, despite last season, still an unproven player. Benzema should be on the potentials list but that means yet again negotiating with Real Madrid. Gonzalo Higuain is awful. Let's hope they leave that well alone. I don't rate Cavani either and Sakho?! Please. No. If they were going to take a risk I'd rather bring in Richairo Zivkovic from Ajax.

Nervous times. No doubt there's a marquee signing in the wings, it's just a question of who it is, what position they play and what, realistically, they offer the team.

Agree4 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 19:55:02
Simon,

You really think we would allow these players to leave if we didn't have a plan for when they go? Nothing to worry about, it's actually making me more excited. The press have no idea what's going on.

Agree3 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 20:22:44
I hope Ed doesn't class Kane as a marquee signing.

Agree4 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 21:49:22
I'd like to see Kate in a united shirt, I'm just a bit worried about the price general levy is going to slap on him though

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 21:58:38
!!!#$@@!#!! KANE@@!@????
We want Benzema or Lacazette or Lewandowski or that even that Son Heung-min from Bayer!! If Kane progresses, then I'm all 4 giving them £40m next season.
Then he would be worth it.
Rant over 😎

09 Jul 2015 22:21:00
Aswell as Kate I wouldn't mind kane

Hi ed's a newspaper reporting real will not enquire about Otamendi as they feel he's bound for old Trafford (watering at the mouth) do you guys have any news of this. Thank you

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - No.}

09 Jul 2015 16:56:36
Quotes from Bayern chairman Rummenigge:

'I make no secret about it that, in our conversations, it sounds like he is flattered from the interest in England, ' he told reporters.
'I talked to him during his vacation. We will meet each other, when he is back. Our plans are not finished yet. The window is open until August 31.'

Could this be why we are stalling on the Schneiderlin move? Personaly think a double swoop for Schneiderlin and Basti would give us a strong and versatile midfiled. Schneiderlin could play as a No. 6 or in a more box-to-box role.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

09 Jul 2015 17:23:46
And where does Carrick fit into all this? I really don't see the need for Schweinsteiger and it would frustrate me so much if we chose him over Schneiderlin.

Agree4 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 17:25:04
Why should it hold up Morgan. Sorry to sound clichéd but he is exactly what we need and his acquisition shouldn't rely on being tallied with acquiring a 30 year old player (who quite frankly has had an injury riddled season). Not having a go juan but l find this nonsensical and I've been hearing it for 2 weeks.

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Jul 2015 18:07:45
carrick is 34 and What happens if he gets injured we end up with Fellaini in the middle. Buy Schneiderlin and Bastian along with Herrera we would then have 4 great midfielders to rotate or cover as and when.

Agree3 Disagree1

09 Jul 2015 18:32:33
By all means let's get him especially at the quoted price but in my eyes it shouldn't be holding up the transfer of a younger box to box midfielder.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 19:12:32
Agree with every post. If it's an issue of Morgan vs. Basti, I think Morgan is a no-brainer. Makes no sense to opt for Basti (despite hie undoubted quality) when we have a younger target who could equally do the job and will serve us for years to come.

I hope that is not the case and we are swooping for both.

BBC reporting that we're interested in sakho of West Ham

Believable3 Unbelievable2

09 Jul 2015 16:22:39
I was really impressed by him home and away last year, didn't give the defence a minutes rest, fast and strong. He's shown he can deliver in the Premier League

Agree2 Disagree1

09 Jul 2015 16:31:13
Well we do need a new striker but him? Is he the guy we really need?

I'd rather take a chance and splash £40million on Kane.

Agree1 Disagree3

09 Jul 2015 16:32:17
Hope not, not near good enough in my opinion

Agree2 Disagree1

09 Jul 2015 16:51:44
Not a glam name, but not an overpriced has been who will command all the money in the world. He had a fantastic season and for £15 million, great deal. A long way to go before anything concrete can be proven though!

Agree2 Disagree1

09 Jul 2015 17:22:24
You have to think what do we need and what are our plans. We play 433 then we need 1 more than rooney/Wilson. If rooney is 1st choice in lvgs mind you need an up and coming who is willing to bide his time and take over fully later. Sako possibly does Thst along with benteke but at a much cheaper price.
Who knows they may even take Rafael as part of the deal!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 20:03:33
Could be like Saha. He turned good for us (when fit!)

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 22:01:07
Like 60% of you, I would actually prefer the £15m Sakho. For now.
Jeeeees u guys make me feel old!

👴👴👴

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 22:38:31
Yep Rooney up front should be good for 15 goals if he plays upfront every game and include penalties. Rooney is going to have to have complete change of trajectory to be the striker many are expecting him to be. That rarely happens at his age and is a huge gamble.i have no doubt that rvp had he played all season would score twice as many as roonaldo. Our current strike options aren't even in the top half of the prem in terms of results.Rooney ain't good enough to have team play for him and can't play as part of a team. He can't beat at egg. Apologies for the Rooney thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 15:12:59
Apparently Sevilla are looking at Hernandez as a replacement for Bacca? Now this, if true, could be good for us as we have shown recent interest in their midfielder Krychowiak and things with Schneiderlin have slowed? Any more you guys could share or know on this? Thanks, Ronnie.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

09 Jul 2015 15:43:40
Krychowiak has a £22million release clause and only signed for Sevilla last year. Safe to say he's going nowhere.

Give over Patzi! Why do you think we gave Young and Jones new contracts? To give us much stronger bargaining possibilities. It will go as follows

Jones for Ramos
Evans for Otamendi
Rafael for Schneiderlin
Hernandez for Muller
Young for Bale

You heard it here first!

How hard is it to agree a fee for schneiderlin if they are only 7 mill apart split the middle and get it done I think it's down to LVG he's holding out for schweinsteiger

Agree2 Disagree2

09 Jul 2015 18:10:04
We have 2 decent CMs in Carrick and Fellaini we need at least another 2 why we are messing about when Schneiderlin should have been done and dusted months ago

Reports that Antalyaspor are in negotiations to sign a ‘former Barcelona’ player, with United’s back-up goalkeeper, Valdes, mooted to be the man in question.

“We are planning to sign one more ex-Barcelona player of the calibre of Eto’o and Ronaldinho,” the club’s president Gultekin Gencer told A Spor. “I can say that an agreement is so close.”

Anybody know if Valdes is the player in question?

Believable0 Unbelievable3

09 Jul 2015 14:01:32
I would very much doubt it

Yaya Toure? Keita? Maxwell? Just throwing some names into the hat really.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 14:07:59
Rivaldo, Figo, Puyol are more likely than Valdes.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 14:12:20
Why on earth would we let Valdes leave with DDG most likely on the way out?

Unless LVG is planning an even more unorthodox formation this season, playing with no keeper.

Agree3 Disagree2

09 Jul 2015 14:46:10
Phil jones is retraining as a keeper. For one on one situations he has an arsenal of distracting gurns and face pulls.

Love rumours like these ones! I hope your right.

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Jul 2015 12:09:30
I really want to blv that rumour. I honestly feel that's the reason of delay in De Gea deal as opposed to much acclaimed Ramos situation.

And with Darmian signing (as mentioned close to 3 month's ago by the Messiah ED002 himself), its safe to say that the media has absolutely no news of what's happening with united transfers.

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Jul 2015 12:16:15
These are the best kind of rumours! Few people think we have something big in the pipeline, if I had a choice i'd want bale or muller, so I really hope there's some truth in this!

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 12:32:28
If these di maria stories are anything to go by then it's plausible

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 12:36:10
Let's face it. It would only happen if De Gea was part of the deal. And perhaps Bale would be our striker? No reason why he couldn't be.

Agree1 Disagree1

09 Jul 2015 12:38:34
Now this is what this site is about. rumours based on spurious whispers.
Cant see it.would love it.
With all talk of Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin. anyone seen Sneijder in Manchester recently???

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 12:51:51
If Di Maria leaves, which could happen, endless links to Bayern and PSG then maybe this could happen. I think something is happening that is big, because we wouldn't let Falcao, RVP, Nani, Chicarito (pending) etc leave without something being agreed behind the scenes.

Can I ask people, why is there so much secrecy surrounding footballers, I mean thinking of De Gea, why doesn't he come out and say either way. Surely he has told Mata and Herrera what his plans are yet nothing is ever leaked to media. Is it the clubs that put these embargoes out to protect themselves and their £'s?

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 12:43:50
Hmmmmm. Nope

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 12:56:00
I would love it to be true, I asked an ex football team pal who is one of the Physios for Wales about Bale a month or so ago and he told me from what he knows that Bale has no intention of leaving Madrid. Like I say it was about a month ago and things change but from what he told me Bale would not choose to leave so if he does Madrid have forced him out.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 13:09:14
I doubt it would be that soon and be that under the radar, but here's hoping! I'd have him and Depay on the wings over most others.

09 Jul 2015 13:17:26
This is the kind of rumour that I joined this site for.

Hope it happens.

Could LVG be looking to introduce Adidas with a bang, using one of their star faces?

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 13:44:01
Bale is best centrally, he has also stated on numerous occasions that's where he wants to play, Bale would be fantastic in the position that Fellaini has been playing.

If Bale comes in ADM is gone, and to me that's a good thing. Bale will get you a similar number of assists but he will also get you a lot of goals. And goals my friends are what gets you prizes!

quality rumour, thanks for posting!

Agree2 Disagree1

09 Jul 2015 13:48:56
Even if this doesn't turn out to be true (I hope it does.) This is what this website is for so thanks for sticking your neck out!

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 14:14:27
Got told from someone that delivers to old trafford that he had been told something similar about Bale in and Di Maria out was on the cards, dismissed it then but maybe there is legs to it after all.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 14:20:27
Didn't someone say yesterday that talk on on mutv that there was something big in the pipeline ?

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 14:46:12
Ed002 has stated all along that there is a price for Bale. Maybe we are willing to pay it?

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 15:20:10
Imagine it? Gareth Bale in a UTD shirt next season, shivers down the spine!

Agree1 Disagree2

09 Jul 2015 15:30:20
Gonna throw a spanner into the works here. With letting Falcao, RVP, Henriquez, Hernandez (probably) and Nani leave, we must be signing a forward player, if not a striker, as we will all agree going into the seaosn with Rooney, Wilson and maybe Hernandez isn't going to cut it to win the league.

Reports about ADM to Bayern. What if they take ADM, we take Muller and Schweinsteiger.

Then with De Gea to Madrid, we take Bale.

Any three of Schweinsteiger/Carrick/Schneiderlin/Mata/Herrera with any three of Bale/Depay/Rooney/Muller ahead of them.

As I say, just throwing that out there, don't think we'll sign either of Bale/Muller, but one can hope.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 16:19:58
Don't want money wasted on bale under any circumstances.
We have plenty of players in his favored positions besides which he doesn't even want to leave madrid anyway.
If we do want to pay over £50m for 1 player let it be someone that plays in a position that needs strengthening. With falcao gone and rvp soon to follow i would suggest we need to be looking to sign a top class number 9 eg benzama, muller, cavani, lacazette and not waste time trying to attract someone we don't need.

Agree0 Disagree2

09 Jul 2015 18:36:42
Allan, if Bale was available at a price United were happy to pay, yet didn't go for him, I along with 99.999999% of United fans would be extremely piddled off.

I hope it is, turning the corner is more hope than expectation when it comes to him, he doesn't have the minerals if you ask me.

Agree2 Disagree2

09 Jul 2015 11:30:14
Well I see a lot of people are in favour of ADM leaving. If he leaves then I don't see any other player coming in. We don't want to end up like Liverpool of last season where so many new players didn't know how to play together. Obviously Ashley Young will be the one filling his boots. Hopefully people will be happy with him instead of ADM.

Agree0 Disagree3

09 Jul 2015 12:06:23
The only player involved in the deal will be van der wiel? But we don't need him!

Agree3 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 12:16:24
If ADM is joining PSG and that RVP is joining Fenerbache I would have thought Cavani is the most likely player to be included in the deal

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jul 2015 12:46:31
Not going anywhere. He's battle hardened for the prem and class. Granted first season was mixed but give the guy a chance this season there's a reason we bought him and if he fulfils he'll s*** on hazard. Remember people classed evra and vidic s*** after debut seasons and we know what happened there.

According to Sky they still need to finalise a few details but they claim he is having a medical. Surely if/when he goes there must be plans for a replacement coming in - I can't see LVG letting him leave without an alternate option.

Apparently should be flying over a medical before the end of the week. That's two good signings in. Schneiderlin should be next within the week and hopefully Otamendi too - but that will depend on his holiday.
