initial scouting reports on the kagawa 12 months ago were “lukewarm”, with particular doubt cast on whether he had the physique to be a force in the Premier League.

There was little urgency to pushing through a deal until Ferguson personally watched him deliver a match-winning display for Borussia Dortmund in their emphatic 5-2 win over Bayern Munich in the DFB-Pokal final last month.

While it is standard procedure for Ferguson to have the last say on signings, the scouting dossiers would make purely interesting reading should Kagawa not cut it at Old Trafford. {Ed007's Note - Give the guy a chance mate. You must be a right bundle of fun at parties. It would also be interesting to see the dossiers if he comes to Utd and rips the EPL a new bum. Every transfer is a gamble, for every Cantona there is a Veron, it's the basic concept of ying and yang.}

Believable9 Unbelievable29

I think you'll find its yin and yang ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Now that is the biggest load of rubbish I've ever read , ed, surely there a trophy on the way to this man , don't think that'll ever be beaten

Dustbin {Ed007's Note - If the trophy is a painful, throbbing scrotum I'm sure we can arrange a presentation.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Just had good night out and I come in to this happy bugger!, no doubt if he won lottery he'd be whingeing about the interest rate!, goodnight!

Charla

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that this is a good signing he as said that he WANTS TO PLAY FOR MAN U
as for hazard he wanted to play for three teams but ed is right some transfers are good and some are not as good

Agree0 Disagree0

I follow Dortmund closely, both Kagawa and Lewandowski are gems. Kagawa is all out attacking midfielder who will gash holes in the defenses of this league, and lewandowski is just flat out special. unique style and talent. not overbearing in power, but more of a finesse goalscorer who finds the right gaps and exploits them. with those two and modric...left back cover and another holding midfielder to add to the mix...we will win at least one trophy the next few seasons..each season

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy is obviously not a Man united fan trying to wind people up. Most likely a jealous scouser who is more focused on us than their own dire club

I'm going to predict that by the end of the tournament we will have been linked with Jaoa Moutinho who showed some very nice touches today and would combine well with someone like Carrick. I'm not sure what he would fetch in terms of price, around 20 million euros I expect, he would certainly be more affordable that Modric. Depending on budget we may well look at players like Moutinho, Defour, Strootman etc who would be good business.

RedDevil19

Believable11 Unbelievable19

So you predicted us to be linked with him then within the same post you linked us with him ! well done mystic meg !

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest when you come on this site during the Euro's you are guaranteed to see at least 1 or 2 posts about a player playing in a game that is being played that day. Regardless if we need them, they are good enough or were unmentionable mercenary's 2-3 months ago eg Wesley Sneijder.

Rjmanutd

Agree0 Disagree0

Weldone unnamed poster, you got me. How stupid it was of me to say he probably will be linked with us and would be a good option. I don't see what you are getting at or what you are moaning about...?

And yes 'RJ', we all will post about the odd good player that we see. But it doesn't mean that we want them here, i'm simply recognising the talent that Moutinho has, as i did with Afellay.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

My comment wasn't aimed at you RD19 it's just in general. We will probably linked with a player from every country at te tournament by the end of the groups.

Rjmanutd

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not saying it was mate, and i completly agree with what you are saying.

So apparently it's Strootman today, yesterday was Lewandowski and the day before Modric.
Sorry guys just can't see it.
I think Kagawa is in the bag and that means no forwards will be bought.
Only other signings I can see is a midfielder and for me i'd want M'Villa and possibly young Powell from Crewe.
Can see us still possibly playing Carrick and Scholesy in the middle and Clev coming in for cover if we don't sign someone, not the end of the world but not ideal either.
Would love to see Fletch back but maybe not to be.
Would sell Anderson and Park while we can still get something for them.

Red Daz.

Believable14 Unbelievable34

Agree this new show (euro got talent) that started Friday night will appeal to all the Utd fans who believe we need to sign 4 or 5 players from this show.
Kagawa, modric, baines& powell( who may surprise us all if he goes on tour)are all we need.I don't believe Sir Alex will be casting his vote!

Ed 002 any interest in Willems? {Ed004's Note - I think he said there was interest...}

Believable12 Unbelievable2

Hope not after tonights performance. Dirt!

Agree0 Disagree0

HAHA Affellay showed no signs of promise and Willems was a horrid defender I pray he is not coming to us!! Why do you guys want him terrible defender if he was a winger i'd be happy! he was meant to defend against Rommedahl and was out of position for the whole game... Defensive rating 3/10 we need baines

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2012 16:49:16
Jetro Willems and Christian Eriksen on next. Keep an eye on them.

G.A.G.U.S {Ed004's Note - I would also keep an eye on Affelay. Available for only 6 million...Could add very good depth to the squad..}

Believable31 Unbelievable10

But he is an out and out winger for Barcelona. Thats why he wants to leave cos they dont need wingers. They dont play with width.

Agree0 Disagree0

Willems and ericksen were rubbish yesterday..not worth even thinking about

Oh yay.....another right footed winger....

Hi,

This go's out to anyone in the know, Eds? Sydney, Kloot?

Does anyone know If we're interested in Willems? I've read posts about him n seen him play, seems to me the perfect option because of his age and price etc, got to b special if he's 1st team for holland already

Big Mac

Believable6 Unbelievable3

He is a Manchester United target this summer mate, expect it to be more well known in a few weeks time. A double swoop for him and Strootman isn't out of the question IMO. Ed002 has confirmed interest in both.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

He looks very confident despite his age, would b a good buy, sneijder is playing well I think, his movement is good

Big Mac

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see him at united. Sydney! what are our chances/what other clubs are in for him?

Daniel

Agree0 Disagree0

Sneijder havin a good game any chance we could go for him other than modric

Agree0 Disagree0

Daniel, according to Ed002 Arsenal have made contract with PSV regarding Willems. Strootman will have a lot of interest if he becomes available, perhaps AC Milan could be a problem for us if we do go for him? Time will tell I guess.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney is not in the know.

I saw the kit. I admit I don't like it but I don't understand why people are blaming United. If you don't like it complain to Nike. Badge is on my heart more than the kit that is on my chest.

Believable35 Unbelievable3

The kit has history behind it. It's significant to Manchester, with such a strong history who cares what it looks like?!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Nowt wrong with our kit

Agree0 Disagree0

I think every one will agree whole heartedly with your sentiments and know that your heart is in the right place - Pun very much intended:) - But oswald is right, such a great history should be reflected in the aesthetics. In saying that, I like the new kit.

BornInToIt

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont support a team because of the look of the kit

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok so maybe the kit does look like table cloth, but the badge is the important thing, plus where does a table cloth belong, on top of the table with the silverware. Gilly

Agree0 Disagree0

Just bought the shirt for my step-dad, not sure what everyone was moaning about. I always think they look a bit weird when we change them but just takes a bit of getting used to

Agree0 Disagree0

I like the idea behind the kit, its Utd claiming manchester from city

Manchester United players in:
Kagawa
Strootman
Modric
Baines
Powell
Lewandowski

I just expect these 6 players in from all the news that I've heard, should be a great summer of signings.

Believable42 Unbelievable36

Ed002, what do you make of the Baines interest, is it real?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Hard to see that it is Syd.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If not Baines then who else is there available with the experience and quality to slot straight in so that we can compete on all fronts?

Langers {Ed004's Note - Izaguirre...}

Agree0 Disagree0

That is what I thought. Why waste £15m-£20m on a 28 year old ordinary LB when Willems at 18 who could be a little bit special and first choice for club and country can be purchased for under £10m. Although Baines and Willems would spell the end of Evra.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

All would be great signings, can't see all 6. Strootman would be the best for me. See him as a future keano. Think we will over pay for modric. He's good but I think we could buy a lot better for the quoted amount.

Joe.a

Agree0 Disagree0

Afraid you're delusional if you think we'll sign all those players.

Strootman OR Modric more than likely.
Baines is a no, no. Simply because he si nowhere near good enough.
Lewandowski is pure dream talk. No way do we need another striker. Having seen Berbs and Owen sit on their backsides for most of last season, remind me again why we need another striker? Someone to keep Berbs' seat warm?
With Kagawa we can ONLY play with one striker. He does not play anywhere else. If we are buying anything resembling a striker, Kagawa is that man.

But, yeah if you really think we're likely to be buying two players for the same position, Modric and Strootman, you go for it.

Your post makes loads of sense.

Bob

Agree0 Disagree0

Is Baines not 26?

Agree0 Disagree0

It will be Modric and Strootman IMO.

Baines turns 28 this year. He is only three years younger than Evra.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Willems is a good buy, better then Baines in my book. I would like M'Vila over
Strootman, Strootman is really only been playing at a high level for a season. M'Vila is destined to be a really top defensive midfielder, possibly one of Europe's best. Still find it hard to except we'll buy half a dozen players. Would still like someone over Modric, he's not a 30 million player in my books. However we can't limp around in midfield with old legends who have been great, but are clearly past it. I hope we sell Anderson, though we'll be lucky to get much more than 6 or 7 million on him. Fletcher may not recover from illness and to be truthful was a hard worker, rather then top quality anyway. As for Cleverly, he could be a squad player, or move him on in a year or two. So even with some reservations over Modric and Strootman, they are 200% better than any midfielder we've got at the moment. The Polish striker is a tough one , he could be really good, or do a Pavlyonchenko in the EPL. The one worry is where will the money come from, I hope not PSG's oil money for Wayne. I won't believe we are going to spend 80+ million until I see it announced on the United website. Young Henriquez looks an exciting prospect. On a closing note, I bet England will bore us all stupid and reach the quarters at the best. never been much of a patriot when it comes to football, always been a club over country sort. Especially when they pick a raciest chav over Rio, whose not only a fine footballer, but a cool guy. Spain or Germany as has become the way of things these days, will probably win.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Neither are better nor more effective than Carrick.
Anyone who doesn't realise how important Carrick is is a fool.

Fact.

Bob

Agree0 Disagree0

Carrick is a normal player. He's main skill is to distribute the ball, but he's inefective attacking AND defending.
Having a player good at only one single thing is a waste. I do like Carrick, and i do believe that with a pure defensive midfilder he would truly shine, but we've been playing with only two central midfilders for the past...10 years?
I truly hope we go get one defensive midfilder so Carrick can have more freedom.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines! Not good enough! You mancs have always been delusional. Baines is twice the player than Evra and would walk into your team should you buy him, which I very much doubt DM would allow to leave on the cheap. He is a quality player and if you cannot see the star qualities in him then you don't know much about footballer analysis or football as a whole. I will leave you at that, I look forward to once again upset your title next season.

Bobcat {Ed004's Note - There are far better options though for a lot less money and if you can't see that you must not follow any football other than the premiership. Baines is a good player but that is it. He is not world class}

Agree0 Disagree0

So now we are hearing that we have an eye on Strootman. I like this speculation more than Modric. All this speculation makes us feel active this summer. Lets hope we sign what we want/need.

Believable25 Unbelievable5

I hope so! that's what we need, an enforcer. We were bullied last year in big games, we miss a keane, Robson player!
Great signing if we do!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think people commenting on this matter haven't even watched Strootman. Yes, we need a defensive midfielder but not Strootman!

Lewandowski has said he's keeping quite on the United link. He hasn't dismissed reports saying it's not true just said he's 'keeping quite'. Ed have you seen this i'm starting to believe the whole situation.

Lewis.

Believable28 Unbelievable6

I think he's a good plaer i just dont want to stifle Welbecks or Will Keanes development. Lets not forget Hernandez either, if he is not injured and on form he's a top player imo, 20 goals in your debut season is incredible.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with a lot of what you say, think Lewandowski will giv us a dimension we don't have up front at moment which is an aerial threat from balls in the box, Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck, all good at linking and finding space, are they really going to give you that, don't know much about Will Keane so, is he that type of player?.

Charla

Agree0 Disagree0

Keeping quite what?

Agree0 Disagree0

Scholesy said that Will Keane reminded him of Van Nistelroy and along with Larnell Cole he is Scholseys reserves pick for the first team. he might not be an aerial threat but i believe Welbeck is capable of providing that aerial threat. I would rather see the money saved and ivested in a left sided player to replace Nani. We have no left footed winger in the mold of a past giggs. Obviously Bale is my first choice and it would be incredible if we can sign him. He could also cover for Evra at left back if Fryers proves incapable of covering.

Agree0 Disagree0

Though Lewandowski is a far better player than Chico (what EPL striker isn't?), I'm not so sure he'll give us the extra dimension some of you hope for. Kagawa, just of the front, will give us the subtlety we've been missing since the days of Scholes being an attacking player. Henriquez looks to have genuine potential and is pretty good as it stands.I think the days of the old tall, strong in the air old fashioned No 9 may be over. Many of the best strikers rely on guile rather than power. A Wellbeck rather than a Caroll. Not convinced we'll buy him and certainly not for 15m. A striker with 2 years left on his contract will surely cost another 10 million if he's any good. If we can get a permit for young Henriquez, SAF may just let it go at that. Rooney, Wellbeck, Henriquez, Kagawa with back up from Will Keane when he recover, would suffice.
Mik {Ed004's Note - Are you for real? Give me a list of premiership strikers that scored more than 15 in their first season in the league and Hernandez was one of the main reasons we won the league that year....}

Agree0 Disagree0

He will give us an extra dimension because he has aerial ability which is something we do not currently have. Not convinced we should go for him though, are we playing a 3-1-6 formation next year or something?

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2012 12:25:20
From what I'm being told we are in for a very interesting summer.

Ins:

Shinji Kagawa from Dortmund - £12 million (possibly rising to £17 million)
Nick Powell from Crewe - £2.7 million (possibly rising to between £4-6 million)
Leighton Baines from Everton - £17 million (Baines has known about this for a while as Darron Gibson was used as part of this deal)
Luka Modric from Tottenham - £30 million (Harry Redknapp persuaded him to stay for one more season last year, if they didn't get a Champions League spot he was promised that he could leave with his blessing)
Robert Lewandowski from Dortmund - fee not known, however United are furious that Franciszek Smuda has broken this news before the full details of the transfer were finalised with Dortmund.
One of Kevin Strootman/Cheick Tiote will also arrive but United aren't willing to part with more than £15 million for either.

Around £90 million will be invested in to the first team (cue the City fans stating we're trying to buy the league)

This will obviously be balanced out by outgoings:

Expect the likes of Berba, Anderson & Park to be among the most high profile to leave.

Nicko

Believable24 Unbelievable28

I don't think so. Might be a little more believable if it weren't for the rubbish about Gibson being part of the deal for Baines...

T0MB0Z

Agree0 Disagree0

You can forget about Baines coming.Fergie looking at Kevin Conboy from NEC Nijmejen. He's Danish with an english father & is a big United fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Believe what you want 'TOMB0Z' Also Nick Powell will be going on loan to Bolton next season once the United deal is complete - this will happen before Baines is announced, so maybe once this happens, you may be a tad less dismissive.

Nicko

Agree0 Disagree0

If we pay £17 million for Leighton Baines I must just top myself....

UNITED_LEGENDS

Agree0 Disagree0

UNITED_LEGENDS - 100% agree, seems a lot, probably because he's English. I do think he'll be decent though as Evra's not been the same since the whole World Cup scenario!

Nicko

Agree0 Disagree0

English players will always carry a high value, more so to the big clubs even if they are rubbish. i can see baines coming, he is not a bad player but he is not world class either. but i can see Nani, anderson berba and park leaving giving us around £35m - 40m for the lot. I heard last year there was going to be an overhaul but i thought it would have been last season, maybe the time has come

Agree0 Disagree0

From what you have read in the paper or seen copy and pasted on here. Why spend 30 minutes summarising the last week ? Park going no- where ! United are upset that the poland manager made a vague statement that included our name when asked about us and lewandowski ? You actually saw the interview ? Moral of the story here is that your believing gossip too much !

Agree0 Disagree0

I have heard the Nani rumours, not heard anything substantial unlike other outgoings or targets, Hope he doesn't leave though. He's one of only a handful of players we have & will have to change a game when needs be.

Hoping all the rumours are just his agent talking him up due to his pending contract talks.

One interesting player in all of this, is Michael Carrick. If as suggested the above mentioned players arrive. Where does this leave Michael? I know a few of you don't particularly rate the lad, but I think we all have to admit, he was one of our better players last season. Thoughts?

Nicko

Agree0 Disagree0

'From what you have read in the paper or seen copy and pasted on here. Why spend 30 minutes summarising the last week ? Park going no- where ! wow - this is a rumours website kid, (clue's in the domain name) I'm not usually a massive poster on here, however I've had a season ticket for over 25 years, know a few people who have info on the club, so thought I'd share....

Nicko

Agree0 Disagree0

After hearing what Shinji had to say about Ji Sung Park and how he'd help me when he moves to United, i don't see Park leaving! He's also still on the Official United website which they'd not do with a player they were trying to sell. Remember he started off the season fantastically, in the pre season tour it was only near the end his games weren't good. Maybe being relied on in those big games put a lot of pressure on him after not featuring for a while? Anderson i can see leaving however! We know Berbatov is going!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Park, I just don't see when he's going to get a game now & he's too good to settle for Carling cup games etc... with Cleverley, Kagawa, Giggs, Scholes, Cleverley, Nani, Young Valencia & Carrick already likely to be ahead of him in his position(s) along with possibly 2 more additions. I think he'll struggle.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's only two Tom Cleverley's...

Agree0 Disagree0

'Nicko'. Trying to pass off rumors which you've read on the internet and in newspapers as inside information is pathetic - the fact that you seem to believe each of them without questioning their validity is even more so.

Talk of Nick Powell being signed and then loaned out to Bolton (or back to Crewe) has been gathering steam for some time now and the deal is looking very likely. If it indeed goes through, will I look back on your nonsensical posts and 'be a tad less dismissive'? No.

I wonder whether you, on the other hand, will look back on your posts once half of these deals haven't happened and realise that they are about as useful as Leighton Baines?

T0MB0Z

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't why you keep slagging Baines off. People seem to for get that he was part of the third best defence in the prem last season he's a good player.

Agree0 Disagree0

This lad lol. Claims to have a season ticket for 25 years and also in contact with people in the know . Lol KID ! Probably a crazy 15 year old. If you really were in contact with people in the know. You would know they don't release transfer info to anyone . Only ferguson

Agree0 Disagree0

To kick things off - in reply to the last post - if 'Ferguson is the only one in the know' what's the point in 'rumours sites, newspapers etc...?

Secondly - 'TOMB0Z' do us a favour pal - Stretford end upper for 10 years, before hand - K stand. not missed an away for 16years including euro aways!. Where abouts do you sit? If you were to go a game , even more so as loyal as myslef - you would also get to meet 'interesting folk' that DO have knowledge in the happenings of the club. Stick to buying the replica & ripping loyal fans that plough cash into the club YOU 'support' #armchair {Ed004's Note - Previous post should not have gotten posted..}

Its reported that the poland manager has said Lewandowski is going to be a man u player next season... Also we are very close to signing Kagawa but a question that keeps on popoing up in my head is: Will Dortmund actually sell two of their key players to us? Maybe they want some money to get their big targets Lewandowski is around 15m and Kagawa 13m. 28m will probably be enough for their targets. Also heard we are going for modric 25m rising to 30m.Baines also very close to signing. Looking forward to seeing Nick Powell for United I think he will be a very good future prospect.

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Ed is not in contact with the likes of Arturo Vidal.. Does anyone know if we have signed angelo henriquez as was reported in the daily mail. Must admit that the mail is usually as reliable as the sun (i.e not at all) but this one may have some legs as we have spoken to him on many occasions and he is apparently one of the brightest young talents. The last thing I heard was that he had said that he wants to be a united player and that he needed to get first team experience before he moves. I like the fact that he has openly stated that he cant wait to join us and know he has met fergie on many occasions in numerous visits to ot. However he has only played about 10 first team games (think he scored 8 goals) and I was under the impression he would be more than 3 million. I am thinking perhaps others are interested and if so it would make sense to snap him up now.bookedredmole

now if this is true... all i can say is

he could have been the center piece of our mid-field if he had signed.....

Given the news that we may now be taking up the option on Henriquez I think it is worth posting the background story I first posted on here on 22 May 2012 at 20:48:19

Red Man

Despite the growing interest from Europe in Angelo Henriquez, Manchester United are confident they have a watertight agreement for the Universidad de Chile prospect.

Now 18, the exciting attacking talent can move freely to Europe, but while he is linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund, United have first option on the youngster until 2014 thanks to an agreement struck with 'U' almost three years ago for the then 15 year-old.

Henriquez has already spent two trial periods at United's Carrington training complex in the last two years and will continue to visit annually until the English giants decide he is ready to make the big leap.

"The idea of the people of Manchester is that I begin my senior career with U. I'll do my development process here and I go when I have a little more experience," says the teen, who is now a virtual first-choice at U under highly-rated coach Jorge Sampaoli.

U president Federico Valdes insists no cash has changed hands, instead United will monitor Henriquez's development closely before shelling out a fee when they feel he is ready.

"It is untrue that there is a concrete offer," says Valdes, "but they are very mindful of what he can do and are monitoring him closely."

There is talk of United having a pre-agreed €4 million option for Henriquez, though Valdes hints it could be more.

Indeed, he could go for more than Sebastián Rozental, who remains Chile's biggest teenage transfer when he left Universidad de Catolica for Rangers over 15 years ago.

"I do not know how old he was and how much it cost Rozental when he left. He was 19 and went for $6 million? Then he (Henriquez) will be more expensive than Rozental."

Henriquez is now making headlines for U, winning the club's Player of the Month award last month and now thriving under the tutelage of Sampaoli, who is regarded highly by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

"The Manchester United people say they would prefer I continue playing here," says Henriquez. "Playing for United would be a dream come true, but I know to get there I must work hard and play well here.

"No-one has told me anything different. So I stay and will keep working hard for U.

"It would be very rare if I went to Manchester at my age. They said they would sign me once I am older and gained more experience."

Such has been Henriquez's progress this season that he's forced senior attacking teammates to the bench and led one, Peru international Raúl Ruidíaz, to consider openly whether he needs to leave to find regular first team action.

He has moved smoothly into Sampaoli's line-up as a replacement for Eduardo Vargas, who chose to join Napoli over Chelsea in January, and already boasts a first goal in the Copa Libertadores.

Now running around in the U No8 shirt, Henriquez can play as an out-and-out striker, but also on either flank and has the ability to play behind a centre-forward in a true No10 role.

But for all his talent, Henriquez could easily have been lost to football just two years ago.

The Chile youth international had to choose between football and tennis as he started to become involved in U's senior squad.

He played at the same club as Chilean tennis star Fernando Gonzalez and admits he could've turned pro.

"I was going to become a professional, but I got bored. Tennis helped me in developing my pace and agility," he says.

Sport runs through the Henriquez family, with older brother César "Cuqui" Henríquez a star with Palestino. Indeed, United fans may owe Cuqui as it was watching his older brother make his way in football that convinced Henriquez to change sports.

"I was doing well with my school team and U made contact," recalls Henriquez. "I thought I could make it there, so I agreed to join."

Even if United didn't boast their first refusal agreement, England would still be the favoured destination for Henriquez, as he confesses he grew up idolising Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and former Old Trafford hero Ruud van Nistelrooy.

"My favorite player is 'Titi' Henry, but I'm more like Ruud van Nistelrooy," he says.

If the move does happen for Henriquez, modeling his game on the Dutch legend wouldn't be a bad start for United's latest South American transfer target.

Reading in the Machester Evening News that we have agreed a £3 million fee for Angelo Henrique of Universidad de Chile, he is a striker wth a record of 8 goals in 10 appearances.I personally think this would make sense as maybe like Hernandez he would not expect to start every game & 3million is hardly a massive gamble money wise( less than half the Bebe fee). United now apparently looking at Lukasz Piszcek aswell! Can we really sign the entire Dortmund squad...

Believable11 Unbelievable11

He's going to Real Madrid according to the Poland manager

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's hope so!lol, not many sides would finish above Bayern in a league table and absolutely thumped them in German cup final, certainly be happy with Lewandowski, looks a real talent and only 23, plenty of potential and years in him, good player now and could be a world class one at club like united.

Hey there, i don't have any sources inside Old Trafford or know any players, but, one of the director's at work is absolutely certain United have signed Modric for £26 million.

The company have a box there and he said his son 'is in the know' and told him this is happening/happened.

I do know we have a box there but I don't know anything about his son. He's (our director) not one really to get excited but he was over the moon today. I've looked around for info but nothing has been said, so I'm just passing on the info I was told earlier today.

If they have signed him for that price then that's crazy, I would have expected much more - he was definite it was £26 million.

Anyways, don't shoot the messenger, just passing on the info I was told, I'm not privy to that sort of info so it'd be great if it's true coz that means we all then have someone who can let us know about deals in the future hopefully.

I'm trying not to get excited, the price seems low and I can't imagine any rival teams not getting involved, but fingers crossed that he's right.

Take care y'all.

Thanks for passing the info on, hopefully your source is good for future transfers.

Try 35 million for modric! You might be a good club but you still have to pay the rite price for the best cm in the prem.

The messenger won't get shot...that's what this site is for.
Y'all.....Virginia, N.Carolina?

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a done deal, 25.5 million plus add ons to 30 million. Good player but not great player. Would have preferred wes snieder personally, but at least we are signing midfielders.

Agree0 Disagree0

While the fee may have been agreed, it would be unlikely to have agreed wages with Modric as he's with the Croatian squad. So not a done deal, yet.

Funny. The guy that reckons Modric is the best CM in the Prem.
Based on what exactly?
Is he the best CM'er because he doesn't get assits? or goals? Is he the best because is role within the team is a little vague. He plays but he doesn't deliver?
Is he the best CM'er in the Prem due to him being almost completely anonymous for Spurs' second half of season collapse?

Sounds like a crackin' player.

"The messenger won't get shot...that's what this site is for.
Y'all.....Virginia, N.Carolina?"

Ha! Close... Blackburn. Yeah, I just said don't shoot the messenger coz it does sound like fantasy football stuff and you regularly see guys get crucified for putting up stuff like this, but, the reason I put it up was because he was so adament: it would be out of his character to get so excited about a 'rumour,' and so to him, the deal is done.

I really hope he is right though as that would mean we've got a genuine source on our hands, and this is the only rumour site I read and would use, so this is where anything he tells me would get posted.

But, again, it does sound like a really low price and I would have thought (if the deal is true) that Chelsea would have been in there before us so I'm as skeptical as many of you will be.

Anyway hope you're all well and enjoying the Euro's!

Damian (didn't put my name on the first post as I thought it would automatically appear coz i'd filled in the name box).

According to the a totally unreliable gutter-press rag, Utd weighing up £14m bid for Strootman and Powell has signed for £4m.

Why go for Strootman when we've signed Kagawa and apparently on the verge of signing Modric? Some of these rumours baffle me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely there are better players available for that kind of money?

Andrew B

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't know much about him but I know 1 or 2 people on here rate him very highly, Shappy(I think, apologies if wrong), has sang his praises for a while, opinion seems to be he's a very versatile player who is comfortable on ball and can make things happen, not sure of his defensive qualities though and I think that's what we are missing at min, especially if Modric rumors are correct and Kagawa already in bag.

If it is Shappy I'm sure he'll be able to give bit more depth into what Strootman is about.

According to the fail spurs want at least £35m. If fergie really wants modric that's what we'll pay, carrick and berba, both paid over the odds for. Spurs will dig their heels in over this deal. Expect it to be drawn out.

Langers

Believable9 Unbelievable8

If that is really the case then I'd happily dump him, thus leaving Levy with a very unhappy player on his hands...I still say we need a player in mid field who can do the 'ugly' stuff well. A bit of steel to go with all the silk.

If modric does come to utd lets hope it will be 3rd time lucky cause berba hasnt had a fair crack in my opinion and for what my opinion is worth carrick is vastly overated........we know scholesy an giggsy will retire so for me its more important to replace scholes than ryan

Christian Eriksen, the precocious Ajax talent tracked by the likes of Tottenham, Barcelona and Manchester United, favours a move to Serie A.

In what will be a big snub to Premier League duo United and Spurs - not to mention La Liga giants Barca - the Ajax ace feels better suited to Italian football, according to his agent.
Midfielder Eriksen, set to star for Denmark at Euro 2012, has been tracked for well over a year by Europe's leading clubs.
And it appears Roma now hold the edge in the battle to land Eriksen, 20.
His agent Martin Schoots said: "The boy would rather play in Italy than the Premier League.
"He has a real love of Italian football and would very much like to play in Italy."

I've only seen him in the flesh once, ( I don't do the youtube thing), and that was at Old Trafford and to be honest he didn't really impress me. Their were far better players in that Ajax team than Erikson.

J - Stand

I agree, he didn't look good enough for Ajax, let alone us! Probably wants to go to Italy bcos he knows it's a slower pace, so he wouldn't be hurried off the ball like in prem.
Plus he's built like a girl!
