i think gaitan and kagawa are already done deals....
gaitan will be our 4th winger who also can play as a AM..
kagawa will be the replacement of park..
we will sign a striker (wolfswinkel or damiao)....
erikson is our number one transfer target..
we may sign a DM if pogba leave ....
we will NOT sign any CB ,LB or RB

ft9

Believable13 Unbelievable27

Anything you say ft9 you obviously have overseen the deals yourself so no more speculation as all deals are done
ARB

Agree0 Disagree0

Ft9
The fact that Fabio is going out on loan would indicate that we most likely WILL be going for a LB, but thanks for your amazing insight anyways....
HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly ARB - I mean why would ft9 write 'not' in capital letters otherwise? Its clear this has no place on a rumour site as its obvioulsy fact!

IrishRed

Agree0 Disagree0

Really grinds my gears when people come on here and state rumours like facts...it ain't fact until the lines been signed...

Jake

Agree0 Disagree0

I see what you're saying, but it does look like a fair shout. Maybe written a little over assertive, but I reckon as realistic as anyone's gotten. I don't particularly support the signings but the ones ft9 has suggested seem like good players, with potential and likely to come to us. I reckon there's about as much chance of Llorente signing for us as there is fat Ronaldo - I just can't see him coming to us and I feel like a little part of me is destroyed everytime someone puts it on this site. Charlie Ad*m and Sneijder all over again.

All the talk has been about Hazard this term for a big money signing in the wide areas.

Just a thought but wouldn't mind fergie testing the resolve of Newcastle United for winger Hatem Ben Arfa. He has really impressed me this term especially after that nasty leg break last season.

We are missing a player like him with that unpredictability who can do something special out of nothing and would also be a cheaper option aswell if the glazers are not keen to splash the cash

Believable23 Unbelievable14

Nani???

Agree0 Disagree0

I have thought since he was at Lyon that there are very few wide players in the world better runnin with the ball at there feet than Ben Arfa.
He did however always appear to be greedy and selfish and from what I read seemed to have a lot of the French arrogance and an attitude problem.
He does seem to be improving team play wise and there dont appear to be any apparent issues with his attitude in the Newcastle dressing room.
Personally I think this is a great shout and a different name that hasnt really come up un-named poster.
Invisible Stuey

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with the Nani comment.
We don't really need another unpredictable wide man.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is still a right footed player playing on the left aswell though.would nt offer us what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks... I can only thank people inside the club for leaking information on fergies/man utds thoughts and interests

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry but Hatem Ben Arfa is fully left footed..

Agree0 Disagree0

Do not think he will replace either Nani or Valencia..an average player in an average team...
Laz

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont think he will replace either player or be bought or should be bought either, but an average player in an average team, utter throwaway comment Laz, he is definately a talent and always has beem

Here is one that has just come out of the blue and that is a deal for sahin of real Madrid as fergie thinks he is a ideal player to fit into that midfield. Just a rumour at the minute but something could happen, keep a eye out.

CM {Ed007's Note - If Sahin were to leave Real Madrid, Italy would be more than likely his destination (possibly Juventus) or a return to Germany would come before any thoughts of moving England. Malaga also spoke to Madrid about the possibility of a loan and Galatasaray would like to take him to Turkey.}

nice to read that toure would rejoin barca tomorrow if he could and that he cant wait to get back there Oh yes City are a massive club!!

Believable27 Unbelievable5

What about Gerrard Piquie moving back to Barca? {Ed004's Note - Toure isn't from Barcelona so can't use homesick as a reason for wanting to rejoin. I wonder what the reason for Toure moving back is? Also Pique was a reserve at the time who wanted game time not one of our main players...}

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually surprises me he comes out and says that to the press, it's like he's asking for a move to barca? What would his teammates think on the cusp of winning a title and he says that..

Ozwald

Apparently we have sent scouts to watch muniain of athletico bilbao tonight.

Believable18 Unbelievable9

From what ive seen tonight he doesn't seem as good as what ive heard.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope he will be watching Falcao, then!!
He's having a great game.
Mike B.

Agree0 Disagree0

You are having a laugh? Muniain (spelling) has played superb tonight. Let's not forget they're up against a talented Madrid side and he's only 19. The lad has so much confidence on the ball. He's top draw already and will get better. Barca bound me thinks

Langers

Agree0 Disagree0

Couple of no names..

1. It is Athletic, not Atheltico, lets not start this again.

2. So we are judging a player on 1 game? Why not judge him on the 2 games he played against us when he ripped us apart?

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

I would make munain r number 1 target hes perfect great vision bags of skill can pick that killer pass and is only 19 but is he a barca player of the future! Donny red

Agree0 Disagree0

Munain was non stop tonight and badly let down by his teamates ,they have been great to watch in the europa but seemed to freeze tonight 2 well taken goals but they allowed falcao to much space.second half munain virtually took them on by himself and ran himself into the ground great engine on him.
johndenton {Ed004's Note - Something Rooney has done for us in the past. He has amazing dedication that Muniain fella}

Agree0 Disagree0

Have been impressed with Muniain myself, and thought he looked good tonight.
Lots to like about his game.

Can he play through the middle or is he strictly a winger?

Bob

Agree0 Disagree0

Munian is the player i want to see in a red shirt next season! He is way better than Gaitan imo and the fact SAF has spoke about both Gaitan and Hazard, just makes me think and hope we go for Munian.
SAF mind games..

Mabzinho

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do so many want wingers and center backs, when we could do with a couple of central midfielders? It must be all the step over of the wingers and the fact that center backs are big. we've 5 center backs -Vidic -Ferdinand - Smalling -Evens - Jones. Valencia, Nani and Young are excellent wingers, well young is just OK, plus Wellbeck and Rooney can play wide too.. Yet apart from Carrick our midfielders are past it, Of plain not up to scratch - Anderson, Park and even Cleverley is only average and always injured. Tunnicliffe is a possible future star, but not for another season or two.

How would Sheddy know anything about transfer policy?

Agree0 Disagree0

You know what....i have a gut feeling that this transfer WILL happen this summer....

Inter are struggling for champions league and apparently he's gutted the transfer didn't happen last year...

Jake {Ed007's Note - *sob*

Agree0 Disagree0

Not again. Please.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair. He is little less high profile after a subdued Inter season. He is a year older and would come a lot cheaper if we went for him. Don't write his class off just yet...

Agree0 Disagree0

15 mill fee for snijder enought then i would sign him for MU

Deep Rider

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard is the new Sneijder....in terms of annoyingly drawn out transfer sagas, WS is like soooo 2011.

IrishRed

Agree0 Disagree0

If cut price deal and he says he ONLY wants United then it may well happen. Let's just see, hope there's not loads of media coverage surrounding it.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Would have been great 3 years ago! He's nearly as old as Giggsy! :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha Sneijder's 27? an age a lot of people call 'peak' of their careers! He'd definitely bring in experience and superb ability. Giggsy is 38 mate. 11 years different if you're as bad at maths as you're football knowledge is ;)

Just want to say now, no one bother posting 'he isn't good enough' etc.. He was and still is one of the best attacking midfielders in the world period.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Ozwald, I thought he was 29 though.

All jokes aside, I would love to see him at united. Lets see

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozwald, couldnt of said it bettermyself, WS is one of the best in the world in the position we most need, maybe a little injury prone and age isnt ideal but he would help Utd do special things for the next 5 yrs at least. Dont write this one off

Phillipe Aucliar, French football expert thinks by sunday at 5:00pm Eden Hazard will have the choice of any english Champions League team and also ruled out he has said he will be playing in blue next season saying who was he talking about Coventry or Cardiff.

Believable23 Unbelievable6

Cardiff are playing in red next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha great retort. As much as I would love the player at the club I wish he would just bloody announce who he really wants to play for instead of teasing and apparently whoring himself about to see what offers are there for him. Hazard and Pogba rumours and wonderings both starting to do my head in to the point of if they dont have a passion to play for this club good luck to them foxtrot oscar as good as there potential seems to be
Invisible STuey

If they do not want to play for United we don't want or need them. there are plenty of class players around. City can only sign 24 at most. We only need three...

At the end of the day no one knows what is happening behind closed doors, may have taken a while longer for United to come up with an offer taking into consideration City have probably paid bare P upfront. Maybe like bonus and addons depending on performce etc. Will be interesting to see, also after Sheringham sayin' he reckons SAF will go after Sneijder again this summer.. What does everyone think?

eds, is this talk about us having talks with van persie true? id love to see him at united but i just don't think we will afford his wages and i don't think he'd join another premier league team if he did leave arsenal.

JK92 {Ed004's Note - We would be able to afford his wages easily mate. I just can't see him moving to us this summer}

Believable2 Unbelievable18

With all his injury problems i can't see Rodwell coming, but would'nt mind Fellaine or Berkley for Hernandez.

Agree0 Disagree0

City will pay him the best part of £200k a week, we would pay him around the £130k mark IMO. He would get the same amount of backlash joining us as he would joining City so I believe he would join them. Both us and City would probably pay around £17m-£20m for him in the end as he is in his final year and he is no spring chicken and has a dreadful injury record. I think RVP and Song will be sold for around £30m which covers the cost of Podolski and M'Vila.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

So where do you think Song will go next Sydney? I think it he was available then we would have an interest, he is one of the best midfielders in the League in my opinion.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd
You have been saying all season, very confidently I might add, that no matter what position Arsenal finish this season, RVP will leave. Is this just a " feeling" or do you have any legitimate sources? And about Song, are you hearing he wants to leave or Arsenal want to cash him in? I've read nothing about Song heading out of the club.

Ezdee

Agree0 Disagree0

United DO need to make a high profile signing this season in response to a failed trophy less season. This would be THAT signing. City will chuck a few oil wells at it to stop us getting it though.

Believable1 Unbelievable35

Thanks mate knew it was rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Only way I could see that is if we bought Rodwell, and loaned Hernandez as a sweetener.. To get game time, say if a new BIG name striker (RVP, Higiuan (sp), ...) came in. But still can't see it.

Manchester United are lining up a sensational move for Arsenal skipper Robin van Persie.

The 28-year-old has just one year left on his current deal at the Emirates and there has been intense speculation over whether he will remain at Arsenal.

Van Persie, who has hit 35 goals in all competitions this season, has stated that he will hold talks with Arsene Wenger over his future in the summer.

Manchester City are reportedly ready to pay the Dutchman £250,000 a week to quit north London, while Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona have also been linked with moves.

Now United have joined the chase, with Sir Alex Ferguson planning to strengthen his squad this summer after a disappointing campaign that looks set to end without any silverware.

talkSPORT understands United have already sounded out the possibility of van Persie making a switch to Old Trafford, and are prepared to splash out big on the former Feyenoord man.

Believable7 Unbelievable29

Rumour is that we are looking to sign Van Persi. Is this likely to happen?

AndyMUFC2104

Believable6 Unbelievable29

I bloody well hope so! Imagine Rooney and RVP up front, mmmmmmmm

But tbh it would be hard to see him play for any other club in the PL, my bet would be he either stays with Arsenal or goes abroad. Perhaps I'm being naive but he seems to have a bit more respect for his club than Nasri/Clichy did (hope Im not wrong and he signs for City!)

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know if it will happen or not, a part of me hopes that it does, but the other part hopes that it doesn't. The player i really want to see here is Eden Hazard, if we sign van Persie then Hazard's arrival is even more unlikely.

Just heard a interesting rumour coming from an official inside old Trafford (not naming names) and this concerns the young lad Ross Barkley from everton. The price isn't clear as yet as the deal has just come about but the deal could be completed soonish but won't be announced until the window opens.

Also other signings that WILL happen are gaitan, Hernandez (young Uruguayan) and kawaga

Believable14 Unbelievable22

Can you put a name after your post. If this rumour does happen we will priase you/doesn't happen then we can name and shame you.

Mad Hatter

MH is right though it would be nice to have a name to associate the rumour to, it's harder to remember un-named posts for some strange reason!

Also - what position is Hernandez?

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

Barkley will come in within the next two years i think, not sure if it will be as early as this summer. Barkley may come in this summer, but i expect only if Pogba leaves.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Hernandez is a striker, a tall lad with lots of pace on to look out for in the future massive potential.

Agree0 Disagree0

Abel Hernandez is striker for Palermo.
Ajp

Agree0 Disagree0

While three of those names mentioned seem realistic, was just thinking.. With Hernandez did you just pick the name of a pacey young striker? I mean he's only played 18 games this season for Palermo and scored 6 times. A worse version of Welbeck IMO :S

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought he meant Henriquez the lad we're linked with, similar to Hernandez, easy to get mixed up.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have been watching hernandez for a couple of years now and he is a great talent and no doubt would mature into one of the best players in the world

Probably gonna be an unpopular post here but my opinion on Hazard is this, potentially an awesome talent but like a couple of Ed's have said, the boy talks to much! He has flirted with all the big clubs in the premier league so far and not once made a passionate declaration to who his preference is!

Gaitan on the other hand has come out and stated he WANTS a move to us!

For me, this is important, a desire to play for the club! I think in the past some players have "bottled" the chance to come to us because of the pressure that goes with playing for Manchester United so when a player openly wants the move, if they have ability then with that passion, they, for me, would be a better buy.

Now I am only going on what players, players agents, people "close to" the player have to say but I would imagine this is a consideration SAF would look at as well!

Just my views on it though.

Ports

Believable33 Unbelievable3

Agreed, I would think attitude would be an attribute SAF regards highly

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

It is, this is the reason why i think Gaitan and Kagawa are likely deals to happen, both have mentioned how they'd love a move to MUFC. Another player who has done similar is James Rodriguez.. But i cannot honestly see us signing both Gaitan and Rodriguez. I would actually prefer the Porto man however with Gaitan being 24 he has a few years more experience that could be a factor?

Hi im here posting for the first time this summer, exiting!

what im am posting about is also exiting. this is that manchester united are close to clompleting the signing of kawaga from dortmund for £20m the deal will be announced when the window opens.this is from a realiable source as it is from the same person who told me about the young and jones signings!

also i hear that represenitives from ajax are coming over to england in the next few days to talk about the possibility of a £25m deal for erickson.

other player who could be coming in are:
gaitan
hamisk
benzema
barkley

CM

Believable11 Unbelievable37

Kagawa will certainly not cost £20 million, anyone would be mad to pay that in my opinion. Eriksen would be a really good signing, but signing two central attacking midfielders seems a bit of a long shot from where i am standing.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, the amount of people try and say about knowledge of the Jones and Young deal makes their source (if there really is one) is realiable. If Kagawa is to go it will not be £20m, he is in his last year of contract.

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa is worth 7-9m br not 20,i think if sign both him and Eriksen we will then closing the door on cleverly...dnt we need one of them

Agree0 Disagree0

You have only just arrived and you are exiting already? Why don't you stay a bit longer?!

I told you all last year that Young was signing, this year we are signing Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, you heard it here first!

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

Its the jones one that gets me, as up till the last minute everyone thought he was inside melwood having a medical, when he was infact on his way to OT. No-one knew apart from the powers that be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa will cost about 10 million, Gaitan 20 million,Hamisk 30 million, Benzema 30 million, Barkley 10million, Eriksson 20 million = !20 million. i would be delighted if we get half of that to spend. Kagawa 10million, Fellaini 22 million, Clyne 3million, De Jong 15 million =50 million is about the amount I'd expect us to spend and for that, this is about as good as it gets. Hazard, Gaitan, Rodriguez, etc are all unnecessary as we are strong out wide.
Modrich isn't worth the fortune he'd cost.Would love to get Lucas, but in truth it's pretty unlikely.

Agree0 Disagree0

Were we in for m'vila then?

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a thought with relation to half the Barca squad being available, does anyone think that Keita will be a good addition? Ok he isn't the most exciting youngster ever, but he has lots of experience, is quite physical and still is good on the ball. He'd be dirt cheap too and would be a good addition to the midfield when we need that sort of player in the team. He is one of the players that are quite similar to Yaya Toure, not a bad shout?

RedDevil19

Personally I do not think we should worry too much about what City do for transfers this summer.
Yes, they may go for Hazard and Martinez. In which case we go for any of Eriksen, Gaitan, Muniain, M'Vila, Keita, Kagawa, De Marcos etc etc. City cannot buy them all, and we just need to trust SAF in getting the right player for our team rather than the player who is flavour of the moment. Remember Douglas Costa and how he was going to be the next great player? Disappeared to Turkey if I remember rightly - could he come back "under the radar"?

The Milan Press Office are convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expect a bid to be made by for Eriksen who remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for two more years before moving to Spain. Expect AC Milan and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United.}

Hey ed anything new on the Kagawa and Gaitan front ?
Have there been any talks at all with us recently?
Thanks!

K10 {Ed002's Note - Kagawa says that a move to Manchester United would be impossible to turn down. Reinhard Rauball has made it clear that there still hasn't been contact with Dortmund from another club. I would not be surprised to see him stay at Dortmund. Manchester United and Barcelona both showed interest in Gaitan but Juventus, PSG or Napoli may be the first to eventually put an offer on the table for Gaitan. My understanding is that Manchester United and PSG did speak with Benfica in January but no bid was made. I understand that it remains the case that no firm bid has been made but Benfica are aware of sustained interest. Asking price is and will continue to be an issue. If Manchester United can agree a price I am told that the player would welcome the move.}.}

Rumour has it that Manchester United have submitted a £40 million offer for Barcelona's Gerard Pique. {Ed002's Note - Twitter I assume?}

Believable6 Unbelievable23

Even Vidic isn't valued at 40m.
Who'd want a slow, error prone Pique?

Arrivals and departures I would like to see happen and Manchester united this summer if we are to stop city next season aswell as having a good champions league run.

In
Kyle Walker (could form a partnership with Jones and Smalling for England)
Mat Hummels(ferdinand getting abit old and Jones and Smalling stillnot at the top level yet)
Jordi Alba but if Barca get him instead, Baines
Kagawa
Mario Gotze (may have to wait a year as he looks to be staying put fornow)
Eden Hazard

Out
Park Owen Giggs -retire Kuczuack

Believable8 Unbelievable21

Well it would be awsum if the rumors become reality. we badly need a midfielder. and a cover for Vidic n ferdinand . hope something happens for us this transfer season.

Agree0 Disagree0

You say we need cover for Rio and Vidic, but have not mentioned Evans. Up until the Everton game he was playing really well, now all of a sudden he is a forgotten man! Some United fans need to take a reality check sometimes. Yes, of course we need an injection of new players but lets not just but any old crap! Let's look at the team objectively and say do we really need that or this? For me, I would prefer a fullback who could provide backup on both sides like we used to have in the past. We need both a defensive and attacking midfielder and I also believe we will need a new forward once Berba, Owen and Macheda have been shown the door. I honestly think we are ok for centre halfs with the squad we have.

ive just heard a rumour on twitter that kagawa is going to sign a new contract at dortmund and it will be announced today, heard anything ed's?

Kagawa says that a move to Manchester United would be impossible to turn down. Reinhard Rauball has made it clear that there still hasn't been contact with Dortmund from another club. I'd like to fix a common misconception. Kevin Strootman is NOT a defensive midfielder. Tackling is the area of his game he has to work on most. He used to be an attacking midfielder in the trequartista kind of role but he's dropped back into a deeplying playmaker kind of role, He's a Pirlo type player not a Gattuso type player. As he's sitting deep he can cover defensively to a certain extent but he deffinately isn't a direct replacement for Keane. He's more similar to Carrick but with more attcking intent and cooler under pressure. He is a player i rate very highly though and would be more than happy to see him join. But if he does don't expect to see a player who is blood and thunder as this isn't the type of player he is.

Shappy

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Very true Shaps, but to be fair are we actually looking for a defensive midfielder? We have not attempted to sign one since Essien so why would we start now? Carrick isn't a defensive midfielder, neither is Fletcher. They are ball winning central midfielders that tend to stay on their feet. I think we will buy someone like Strootman who will put a shift in and will break up play by pass interception like Carrick. The benefit of having a player like this is they are also good going forward and they have plenty of energy. Take Mascherano for example, good tackler, but useless at anything else. Garcia & Martinez have more to their game and would do fine, but a player like Mascherano is limited in midfield which is why Barcelona play him in defence. A player like Strootman will not go into tackles and sit in front of the defence 99% of the game, but he can break up play by pass interception and he can pass long, he has pace and he can attack. I would prefer two box2box midfielders over a DM & AM every time.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it depends who you pair together in a 2 man midfield

Good CM combo's for me are either:

1 out and out DM (Keane) and 1 creative attacking player (Scholes in his hay day)

OR

2 out and out central mifielders with one at least being able to protect the defence and at least one is creative, or a mixture of both (Carrick & Scholes in his recent deep lying role)

So what I'm saying is we could either go for a Strootman & Modric type combo (for Carrick/Scholes respectively) as they both sit deep and offer enough defensively between them or go for an out and out DM beast like Martinez and a more progressive midfielder like Eriksen or Kagawa (again just examples). Obviously the big + with Martinez is he also adds so much more than just tackling! But that's a different matter...

I agree with you though Syd that SAF seems to prefer the 2nd option these days (both sitting in midfield but without a tackling DM)...so with that in mind...Strootman & Pogba would make for a mouthwatering future pairing if Pogba would just stay!

Just a thought for when we play this weekend. I would love to see a really attacking side against sunderland. Im thinking of a starting line up of young, nani & valencia in midfield. Maybe valencia in the middle with scholes. I would love it if SAF went for the 10-0 win to clinch the title and city won there game against QPR and started celebrating after the game only to find out the united score and we won it on goal difference!

Chance is very slim i know, but a man can dream!

Believable27 Unbelievable5

I'm also hoping for some all guns blazing football.
We should try and give them a real mauling, but i expect we'll just try to win it and Fergie will hope City drop points.
We should have gone for goals against Swansea but we didn't.
Here's hoping Fergie's got an ace up his sleeve for Sunday.

Believe!

If only we had gone all out against swansea. mayb 5 or 6 goals against them would of been very useful. i cant see us gettin more than 3 against sunderland, obviously i hope we get 10+

Sadly if we were going to do it, then it would've been against Swansea at home and he wouldnt have brought on Berbatov. If we are going to lose then I hope we come within a goal of 2-3 goals of City so perhaps SAF has himself to blame for his tactics yet again and sees that he needs to bring in someone with more nouse.

Lets just hope QPR draw/win and save us the trouble :)

Wouldnt be suprised if SAF bottled it again and put Giggs in the centre!

melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

The trouble with this plan is City are more likely to draw their game than we are to score 10+ goals!

Imagine if we went all out to smash them, ended up conceding first then going on to draw...only to find out that City had also drawn! : (

I feel we must play our usual patient game and IF we get an early goal or 2 like against Swansea THEN go all guns blazing...even make an early sub if required!
