Lindegaard has done his ankle ligaments
jred

Believable6 Unbelievable9

Sounds bad, but if its true it'll probably be the best thing that could have ever happened to De Gea ... I wouldn't wish anyone an injury though.

I injured my ankle ligaments 2 months ago, and it still isn't great. It's an awful injury to get.

He has had this injury once or twice before, could be a problem. Perhaps he will need major surgery this time to try and prevent it from happening again in the future.

You're bang on mate. Last season Lindegaard got his injury and it was the best thing that happened to De Gea as he was given a consistent run in the team, which rebuilt his confidence, and he showed us his best form. I've been saying all along that De Gea's inconsistent form only seems to come when he is in and out of the team so this is good news for him, albeit bad news for Lindegaard.

Best thing that could happen as there will be less pressure on De Gea.

De Gea was our worst performer on Sunday and I blame Fergie. His confidence is probably shot at after he dropped him for making a silly error after performing so well early in the season.

Agree1 Disagree0

Remember lads, he's a United player (it's bad news no matter how you look at it)

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry but DDg is awful in the air up against a midget until he sorts that out he will not be the best in the world as his talent deserves

I think SAF is rotating just to keep both keepers happy because neither want to be number 2. I have a feeling one of them will leave at the end of the season (the number 2) and it will very likely be Lindegaard. I think this spell should hopefully give De Gea time to settle and produce his best again. I like Lindegard but De Gea was always the future with his natural ability. Presence and crosses can be worked on but you can't teach De Gea's natural reactions and shot stopping prowess he could easily be world class later in his career.

hey Eds, wondered on your thoughts of the likeliness of Cristian Eriksen signing next summer? would make a great addition to the team mayb a joint bid for him and Fischer?

thanks

ms85 {Ed002's Note - Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and AC Milan have shown some level of interest in Eriksen in the past year. He has already rejected both Manchester City and Chelsea but AC Milan remain the most interested club. The Milan Press Office are convinced of interest from Manchester United and they have let it be known that they expect a bid to be made by for Eriksen who remains adament that he will stay in Amsterdam for two more years before moving to Spain. Expect AC Milan and Roma to press if a bid is made by Manchester United, but I doubt a move to Manchester will come off.}

People clamouring for the signing of Falcao need to be realistic. He would be £50m+, Atletico paid 40m euro rising to 47m with clauses, and has City/Chelski/PSG/Russia written all over him. Top top player, but we don't have room for him in the squad, the transfer kitty or the wage budget.

Believable29 Unbelievable3

His release clause is 60m euros. That's about £48.5m.

Agree1 Disagree0

His release clause is only applicable to SPANISH teams and as we are not we would have to enter a bidding war with Chelsea and City for his services if he were to insist on coming to england. And that figure could easyily exceed £50m. He's good but he ain't worth that much.

And as Ed002 has said 1m+ times, release causes mean next to nothing for foreign clubs trying to buy a Spanish based player.

A friends told me that he has read somewhere that Anzhi are readying a £32 million bid for Vidic. I haven't had time to see where this has come from - but just thought I'd share. I'd take that deal in all honesty despite Vidic being a class act.

Fresh!

Believable28 Unbelievable17

United would take £22m for Vidic if someone was to pay it, but it wouldn't happen. Anzhi are mega rich but they aren't stupid. If he went for anything over £20m I would go straight in for Hummels.

Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree with Syd; £32 million for Vidic? I'd take him there myself (for 10% of the fee you understand) for that price.

Wouldn't even think about rip their arm straight off.

Agree1 Disagree0

Completely agree with Sydney! If we got 32m for Vidic, 15m Hernandez/Welbeck, 5m for Ando and 20m for Nani that's over 70m from players that really aren't needed at the club anymore (as long as some is used to get a replacement for Vidic). 30m for Hummels and with an additional 40m left over we could even stump up a serious bid for Falcao or Ronny! Or we could save some money just getting Lewy.

Dan, i agree with all of your post but 5 mil for Ando? Even though he has never really reached his full potential, only showing glimpses of it here and there, 5 mil is a ridiculously small sum of money for him.

Jaxer

(also i believe we should hold on to Ando because him and Cleverley seem to have such a good understanding of each other on the pitch, so if Clevs is the future of united, then i think Ando should be given 1 last chance to prove himself, alongside Clevs. They just seem to work well together, and are both still relatively young)

yesterday i was watching the u21 game and no sign of petrucci, not even on the bench. Kinda weird, he was everpresent last year. Anyone knows what's going on ?

Mick

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Wasn't he in the Italy under 21's with Macheda?

Agree1 Disagree0

I do believe he is yet to sign a new deal. The club will not bother with him if they knew he wasn't committed to the club. After sticking by him through two season's of injury, it would be disgraceful if he turned his back on the club now he's fit. Hopefully he signs or has signed and it's another reason why he isn't playing. Illness or injury perhaps?

Sydney!

Under 21 duty

Agree1 Disagree0

Im quite sure he signed a new deal this summer syd, that's why he didnt join inter. But if he did leave, who could blame him. he wasnt named in the cl squad and still havent made his competitive debut while players who are nowhere near his quality have ( Lingard, cole tunicliffe, keane, wooton, vermjil, powell.. )

Mick

Agree1 Disagree0

I think SAF may have some anti foreigner sentiment from his diving comments and in picking younsters for the first team because Petrucci is ahead of both Lingard and Powell, yet he never gets a look in
