Its been confirmed, we just got a £38m bid rejected by Everton.

ALAMIN

1.) Do you know what, I'm sick of reading utd have bid rejected stories, we've eased into countless sponsorship deals without the stupid stories of how we nearly had a partnership with bloody Dunlop but no they go straight through, how about aiming a little high and spending the massive extra tv money rather than low to save a million and lose they player, first bid of 45m would probably of signed fabregas instead of offering the same amount Liverpool signed Henderson . Totally fed up with this window now

2.) I agree with you Dustbin. It's disheartening because it makes the club look timid and weak. The fans love the excitement of a new player and surely getting them in sooner would generate more marketing funds from new player shirts at the least so haggling for these smaller amounts seems petty! I'm sure the money is there and I'm all for negotiating hard but this is frustrating. Made even worse when you hear that Spurs are going for the likes of Erickson for a bargain £12m

3.) Wait till the big company's stop with the big sponsorship deals with us as there's "no value in the market" won't be long before they see what we see, a huge lack of investment. In all jobs you need to re-invest in new equipment or lose out to your competitors, if a builders got a favourite drill that's performed really well for him (giggs/scholes/etc)but is at the of its working life, he needs to replace it with a top quality one like makita (Fabregas/ozil/mata)not a black and decker DIY one (Fellani etc) as the customer ( Chevrolet/Nike, future fans etc) who sees him using cheap inadequate tools will and choose someone else who are investing in the decent quality tools (spurs/Chelsea/city etc)
So to summise, a cheap drill may work a few times, but if you want quality, pay for it and stop penny pinching.

4.) 30 Aug 2013 08:28:04
Should have just put decent bids in for Fabregas and Modric at the start. Our dodgy midfield could have been sorted out weeks ago.

5.) By who. according to Everton we haven't even gone back in with another bid.
Where is the proof that we even offered 38 million?

6.) All clubs bid low for players its the way it works otherwise Chelsea would've £35mil for Rooney and Spurs wouldn't try and get Hernandez for a reputed $7 mil.Do Madrid look weak for not paying the Spurs asking price on bale?

7.) Fellaini may not be a Makita but he's not a Black & Decker either.More like a Bosch I would suggest!

8.) There is no truth to this. First of all Everton has not confirmed if there has been another bid and are keeping silent on it. Reading between the lines of and various statements from Martinez, it sounds like they are leaving and he is not involved in the negotiations.

United is also not confirming or denying anything and it is the media stirring it up and certain fans can't wait to slag woodward and moyes for it. Wait until tuesday morning and we can all have a rant or feel pretty good about our dealings.

17 Jul 2013 12:41:47
Apparently, Chelsea have had a bid of Juan Mata + 10 Million£ turned down for Wayne Rooney. I honestly think Rooney isn't injured, there is a misunderstanding between moyes and Rooney. Also, the comments made by Moyes were very bad that's why Rooney is reportedly angry and confused over his future at Man Utd.

ALAMIN

1.) Ok you divs, if united was going to offload or buy they would need to inform the nyse before, so read the ft if you would like to know what would happen

2.) A listed company only has to inform the market of "significant" transactions after they have been agreed.

The definition of "significant" is generally left up to the company. Google, for example purchased an Israeli firm for over $1. 5 billion and didn't inform the market officially.

Regardless, any deal is only released to the market once it has been agreed and finalised. There is no obligation whatsoever to discuss ongoing or potential deals of any type.

3.) Hi there maybe I;m the only one who can see why Rooney is angry, who else apart from RVP gets half way level with his ability. Instead of a money grabbing pre season tour perhaps sending Moyes on an intensive man management course would have been more useful. Think M U are try ing todrive him out

4.) I suppose your the only one that thinks he should start every game?
Rooney is a squad player, he earns to much for that.
There were players last season that made more of an impact than him in winning the title. De Gea, Ferdinand, Evra, Carrick, RVP.
We don't need Rooney what so ever, it'll be nice to see Chico and Kagawa get more playing time
Thank you for previous service Rooney, but you'll never be the main man at our club, move on

Melwing28

5.) You guys misunderstood moyes speech, he said he wants to make rooney and rvp play together, media is messing up everything.

Hi guys,
I'm starting to get worried about our inability to sign a CB.
We have bolstered our midfield, but we also need to add more options to the defense and forward line .
Also, I have watched depay throughout the preseason & I don't think I want him playing behind the striker, I think he's better suited to the LW role .
What are your thoughts ?

ALAMIN

1.) 03 Aug 2015 12:36:48
Have you watched Depay play the LW role yet? Not disagreeing with you just wondering what you are basing your assertion on.

2.) 03 Aug 2015 12:42:44
ALAMIN,

I think LVG likes his wingers to work hard and get back, by playing Depay in the free role behind the striker he is allowing him free reign to attack teams either side at pace. I can understand why he is doing this, it takes a bit of pressure off and allows him to concentrate on his attacking games, also Ashley Young has done nothing to deserve being dropped in my opinion. I would like to see what Depay can do on the wing as well though, he is certainly an exciting player, could be somewhat of an x factor for us this year while defenders try to work him out.

I think we need a centre back, so does everybody else, so I imagine the club are working hard on it, no need to panic just yet.

3.) 03 Aug 2015 13:38:51
For me it's madness not to play Depay down the left. He would cause all kinds of havoc. No disrespect to Young, I know he done well last season.
Aaaaaand I know 'Henry' conversion too.
Just why change a winner?.
😕

4.) 03 Aug 2015 13:41:33
ALAMIN - Like GDS i think he could be better deployed behind Rooney. Take all defensive responsibility off him and let's him do what he does best. LvG has managed him before and i think he know best.

5.) 03 Aug 2015 13:55:16
I want to see Depay on the wing as well, but I think Depay is the best player in the team that can receive the ball with his face turned to our GK and then turn immediately to the opposite GK without a problem. Not many players have the ability to do this without any pressure (Messi, Hazard, Sanchez).

6.) 03 Aug 2015 17:43:11
Most CBs on the market thing DDG is leaving, meaning that they will actually have to do some work if they sign for us.

Hello guys,
Great win going into the international break ! Though, It wasnt a good performance, we got the much needed 3 points. I noticed a couple of things in the game .

1.) The 4-1-4-1 formation is not helping Di maria . I think his best position is being played as a cm or cam . This formation is also isolating a lot of our players just like Rooney, he played for too deep to make an impact, though, he was good defensively .

2.) Januzaj was very poor in my opinion, slowed the game down on a number of occasions and didn't look like a real threat. I think the only reason why he is starting is due to the lack of quality of our wide men . Young and valencia not good enough. So i think in january we need to get a good winger who is skillful and can score goals . Personally, i would prefer Reus, Draxler or Cuadrado.

3.) Mata needs to be played more often . We all saw how he changed the game with just his first shot and the other shot hitting the post . He is the kind of player that thrives when the whole team revolves around him and I think he should be played in the number 10 role more often .

4.) Van persie needs to be dropped . He hasn't looked the same player he was over the past few years . His finishing has evidently reduced and i would prefer Rooney played up top . Hopefully he would be on the bench when Falcao returns from injury but i think LVG favours Van Persie .

5.) Herrera should have started . The game was mainly based on ball possession and Herrera would have provided better passes than Fellaini did . Fellaini played well though, but Herrera would have done better . I doubt if we will be seeing much of herrera in the next 5-10 games because of what Van Gaal had to say "we are looking for balance and physicality in our team, and in marouane we have that physicality, so herrera wouldn't be playing much in my opinion as I can't see Blind beeing dropped.

All in all it was a good win, not very convincing performance though, but the 3 points matter the most .Shaw had a great game and also Mcnair . January come fast so we can buy a world class defender ! Cheers lads

Thanks ED

ALAMIN

1.) Point 1 is right on the money for me

2.) I thought the general performance was quite good personally. We kept possession very well and controlled the game. I also thought Di Maria looked good today. He was always popping up in good positions and always tried to run at the Palace defence. The weak link for me was Van Persie. He had a poor game today.

Carrick looked excellent today. He could have a big part to play this season.

Hi guys,

Who has been closely watching Angelo Henriquez? He's in phenomenal form and I think we should recall him from loan and loan Wilson!
Also, What's the situation with nick Powell ? He seems not to be playing!

Share your thoughts guys!
Thanks Ed

ALAMIN

1.) How can anybody closely watch him when he plays in the croation league? we all no the same as you, yes he's banging them in but i'm pretty sure if you put james wilson on loan out there he'd do exactly the same.

2.) 1980, are you saying the Croatian league cannot be closely watched? That's harsh mate!

3.) 07 Nov 2014 09:32:37
Loan Wilson? Are you serious?

Maybe instead of watching the Croatian league closely you should watch our own under 21 league (which I imagine will be of a higher standard) and see that Wilson is well ahead of where Henriquez was at the same age in that league.

There is a reason Henriquez is playing in the Croatian league and Wilson is getting game time (even though he is 3 years younger) in our 2 biggest games of the season so far.

I think Henriquez has potential (although admittedly not seen him at all this season, maybe you can tell me where I can study the Croatian league?), but Wilson has more potential, so I think they are in the correct places at the moment.

Interesting that you have suddenly been watching him closely the week that their is news in the papers about him and his agent saying he wants to stay.

4.) I hope you guys do know utd fans are not limited to the UK only, for all we know Alamin may live in Croatia. Just a shared thought. :)

5.) 07 Nov 2014 13:14:45
What are you saying? There are United fans not from Manchester, well it is an outrage I say, a total outrage.

6.) LOL I appreciate the sarcasm GDS2

7.) 07 Nov 2014 15:27:18
Just releasing my inner Kloot!

Hey guys,
What do you think of Christoph Kramer, i feel he is a very intelligent DM and a very good passer of the ball . He's very similar to Matic + he is young and can play cb. I thinj LVG should go for him in the january transfer window .He isn't the most expensive of players as well, £5m would price him away ! Let me know your thoughts

ALAMIN

1.) I still think we need a specialist cb. Somebody who is a cb not somebody who could play there if needed. Not a bad shout if we get him as well as a cb though

2.) Good shout, I would take him over Khedira and I think others will be difficult to get a hold of like Vidal and Strootman.

Hello Everyone,
I have been monitoring the availabilty of players going into this janruary transfer window and also keeping a close eye on the positions we need adequate cover in our squad.
First, i would really like us to buy dani alves. He could be a good addition to the team and would replace rafa when injured . We should also get Christoph Kramer, a young, tall strong Dm who could provide cover for blind .
Lastly, we need to sign a worldclass CB at least of not two . Höwedes or Hummels would certainly fit this role !
Let me know your thoughts guys !
Thanks Ed.

ALAMIN

1.) Wouldn't want Alves anywhere near the team. CB must be the chief concern with another CM the following priority.

2.) Rafael just off one of his best ever performances and you think we should buy a new right back , loving the way you back our players

3.) Rafael is the best I think I have ever seen him. He is one of the top right backs in Europe at the moment - IMO.
Why would you want to replace him?

4.) A few of you need to re-read the op and give yourselves a smack on the back of the head.

personally woudnt mind Alves as cover for an INJURED Rafeal. hint hint

5.) 10 Oct 2014 00:09:11
Exactly constantine , i would just like him as backup for rafael. Rafael is very good but he is injury prone .

6.) Agreed and what ever issues Alves had with barce I don't care.

New lease of life and a top manager in Van Gaal and who knows. He is top quality and might just help the brazilian manager to glance more Rafaels way. How he was overlooked for world cup is beyond me. Scapegoat for the olympics.

Kramer I don't know so Ill look out for him.

Says who? Ill be very happy if we sign him tho . Good player with pace and technique, similar to Suarez. With Chica looking likely to go to Madrid, I would sign him and promote James Wilson.
We still need a World Class CB tho

Unfortunately he didn't travel with the squad due to illness, so he can't play today.
