Hi Ed's,
There has been reports today that Man United will offer Phil Jones as part of the Maguire deal.

Any truth in this?

renoldo1980

{Ed002's Note - I would rather doubt it as they are already working on a replacemen - although it is provingh difficult.}

Can you offer any insight as to what is holding up the deal ed? Is it Leicester trying to find a replacement or are we still apart on a fee?

{Ed002's Note - Nothing is holding it up - the clubs need to agree terms.}

Northampton or Derby next round of FA Cup. Could be facing Rooney and Co, I wouldn't put it past him scoring against us.

If he does would you expect him to celebrate or not?

2.) 27 Jan 2020 22:44:26
Yeah of course. It doesn’t have to be Adebayor, knee sliding celebrations but I think all players should when they score against former clubs.

3.) 28 Jan 2020 10:18:12
I'm in two minds about it. Personally I think its very situational.

For example a journeyman striker who has 4 or 5 ex-clubs and has never settled anywhere for long is unlikely to have a serious attachment, and the fans are also unlikely to have an attachment to that player. So I don't see any issue with celebrating a goal.

But then when a player has been at a club for more than 10 years, or if that player has a emotional attachment to that club, and the fans to that player. Then not celebrating is a respectful nod to all that the player and the previous club achieved together.

It will be interesting to see what happens if he does score against us. Ronaldo wasn't with us that long, but has always been respectful when he has scored against us. Rooney was with us longer, and achieved more, it will be interesting to see if he shows the same respect.

Of course it’s circumstantial, Rooney left and has played for Everton, DC and now Derby and will give 100% to any team he plays for.
I’d expect him to celebrate in some capacity, like Ronaldo did. They are there to win a football match after all.
I hate it when a player gestures a ‘sorry’ to the fans when scoring against a former club.

Hi Ed's, There has been pictures on Twitter today of Ed Woodward on his way to Paris. Does this have anything to do with that guy from Lille?

renoldo1980

{Ed002's Note - You should ask on Twitter.}

1.) 14 Jan 2020 22:12:10
Nice one Ed 😂.

2.) 14 Jan 2020 22:58:23
Cavani.

3.) 15 Jan 2020 06:36:41
I read MU officials have a meeting in Bruges so that is where he is likely heading.

Cant wait for the season to start.

Hopefully Maguire done this week and then maybe 2 more signings if we are lucky (Bruno/ Longstaff? ) .

Lets get behind our team and fingers crossed for better performances.

Surely we can't be as bad as last season (last few games)?

Have a good day all.

I think Longstaff might have to wait twelve months. He'll be cheaper after they've been relegated.

2.) 16 Jul 2019 13:12:58
I agree Mort. He doesn’t look like a pressing signing.

Focus needs to be on bringing Bruno in, and moving Pogba on so we can bring in a replacement before the window shuts.

3.) 16 Jul 2019 13:15:12
If newcastle want 50m that's crazy. The lad played 9 games and had a bad injury.

I'd rather we wait til they're back in the championship.

4.) 16 Jul 2019 13:17:01
That would be a great window for us. James, Wan-Bissaka, Longstaff, Maguire and Bruno. Just need to off-load a few now and get some money in. Lukaku, Rojo, Darmian and Jones to name but a few.

5.) 16 Jul 2019 14:01:30
I agree Danny and mort. Bring in Maguire and Bruno, shift on pogba and bring in Milinkovic-Savic to replace him. If Lukaku goes then a right winger must come in. Longstaff can be a signing next season. I think Fred is capable of doing a job this season tbh. still think there is a player in him. Showed some signs at the back end of last season.

6.) 16 Jul 2019 14:28:09
I do think Longstaff has good potential but not at that price considering things. I honestly do feel they'll be in the mixer this season.

7.) 16 Jul 2019 16:18:19
Valuation aside the more I read about him the more I am convinced he could be a good signing. Could him and Mctominy for a HM 2 allowing the front 4 to be more attacking.
Logstaff looks forward with his passes which would be a nice thing to see after previous teams.

Hi eds, this is my first post and can you confirm if there will be a new signing unveiling the new kit on 1st August or is it just a load of bull.
I hope it's going to be someone decent and not Pedro.

What are your thoughts?

Just like to say thank you for all your good work and I really enjoy reading the posts on a daily basis.

renoldo1980

{Ed004's Note - It is just rumours atm. There should be more signings though}

1.) 30 Jul 2015 22:01:06
Do you expect a cb ed004?

{Ed004's Note - Yes no idea who though}

2.) 30 Jul 2015 22:30:40
What are your thoughts on godin ed004 ?can't see why he's not been mentioned more, could he be an option?

{Ed004's Note - Fantastic player. Probably in the top 5 cb in the world. However, I can't see Athletico selling him}

3.) 30 Jul 2015 22:48:38
He was quoted as saying he'd be interested if a team with ambition comes asking. he was discussing ac Milan interest and explaining why he wouldn't join them. It sounded abit like a come and get me plea

{Ed004's Note - I would be delighted if he signed. I just don't think it will happen unfortunately. Not sure he is the ball playing cb LvG will want}

Ed002, There is a lot of rumours today surrounding Toni Kroos, apparently Guardiola has given him permission to talk to United. Is there any truth in this? He would be a great signing for us if this was to happen.

renoldo1980

{Ed002's Note - It sounds a little bizarre.}
