Robben? No thanks. Wouldn't have him for free.

2.) 27 Apr 2013
Think he's just the same as nani on his day there unstoppable, but there bad attitude and lack of consistency completely let's them down. ie robben btw

3.) 28 Apr 2013
No chance Robben will sign for us he turned us down for Chelsea years ago and SAF would never go back for a player who done that the only way it could happen is if he retires and even then he would probably put a stop to it I think we will get bale tho. Kate. ff

4.) 28 Apr 2013
Is this was true then that would represent some fantastic work. Guess we will end up with one, possibly two out of this list.

5.) 28 Apr 2013
I doubt the robben rumour. What about james rodriguez?

6.) 28 Apr 2013
I doubt the robben rumour. It will be fantastic to have james rodriguez here. Be happy if we can get lewy, strootman and james

7.) 28 Apr 2013
You mean cabbaye who tore the Liverpool midfield to shreds yesterday? No thanks.
As for the rest, its all paper talk and nothing new. Of course we want to sign lewi, strootman and bale, who wouldn't?
Will it all happen, I doubt it.
I can see us going for robben though.

8.) 28 Apr 2013
I would prefer we sign james rodriguez rather than robben

9.) 28 Apr 2013
None of these are going to happen apart from Nani possibly leaving if the right offer comes along.

Robben is one of the best wingers in the world in my opinion even though dislikable. As for us signing him now after he turned us down for Chelsea all those years ago, don't see it

For those who are not convinced with Robben, I want to reiterate that this is just a stop-gap measure IN CASE Bale is unavailable this year. Bale is number one on our wishlist, and the club are willing to wait as long as it takes to get him. Rodriguez is much younger than Robben so getting him does not make sense unless we prioritize him over Bale.

and as for Cabaye, I personally agree that after his injury he hasn't been the same. I'm just reporting what I have been hearing which suggests that we do have an interest in him.

As for me, I think the best option for our midfield is Ilkay Gundogan. I urge all of you to watch the little maestro play. He reminds me of Xavi. He also has a great understanding with Kagawa and Lew and was instrumental to both their successes at Dortmund. Sadly, he won't be available to move this summer (we did make an inquiry and received a flat no for this year), although I know we will be very interested in him next summer. Just imagine a Strootman Gundogan midfield pairing come 2014!

Personally I agree with what you are saying ART. Although, I'm not sure we will stretch ourselves too far to get Robben. Personally I can't see Spurs getting top 4 and therefore Bale will leave. Our main targets will be either Ronaldo or Bale. If Bale goes elsewhere then I think that we will get Ronaldo either this or next year. It will be between those two though. Bale seems a good fit for us. However if we miss out on both then don't be surprised to see Welbeck, Kagawa, Young and Zaha to fill in while we wait for one of them.

The way I see it we have obviously signed Zaha, as good as signed Lewandowski, Strootman is probably 90% going to us and then its one of Ronaldo or Bale. I don't think that we will go for Cabaye as, as you say, we will wait for Gundogan who has recently said he wants to play in the EPL in the future. We will have plenty of midfield options next year so waiting for Gundogan is the best policy. Of course, much depends on Rooney's situation, if we get Bale then I think Rooney may stay and play in midfield, but to get Ronaldo we probably have to sell him.

13.) 28 Apr 2013
Robben as a stop-gap signing? You do realise he would cost an arm and a leg to buy and pay wage-wise. He is a very selfish player and would probably be better off heading to Italy or France in his latter days. I do not think we have any interest in Robben.

14.) 28 Apr 2013
I'd rather have a Carrick-Gundogan partnership ART! Can't believe how even some of our fans underrate him.

15.) 28 Apr 2013
Robben could be snatched up for around 15-18 million euros, considering his age and his near to none resale value. That is a huge way off from the 50 million pounds valuation for Bale. I will take Bale on Robben any day Syd just pray that they don't qualify for CL.

Dan, my friend, if Gundogan ends up in Manchester United for the start of the 14-15 campaign he will be basically a replacement for Carrick who is 33 then, not his partner.

As it is looking we will be playing Carrick-Strootman as our number one partnership next season and if all goes well we could be looking at a Gundogan-Strootman pairing in the middle of the pitch in two years.

United next season possible First 11:

De Gea
Rafael-Jones-Vidic-Evra
Carrick-Strootman
Bale/Robben/Zaha? -RVP-Kagawa
Lew

2014 Campaign

De Gea
Rafael-Jones-Vidic?-Evra?
Gundogan-Strootman
Bale- RVP Kagawa
Lew

Robben?? in the conext of players we should be going for would be a deplorable acquisition. I have no doubt he would/could be an exemplary squad player, my contention is we have a sufficiency of squad players. A theory that I heard espoused recently, was our title win was down to our depth of squad. While. I can agree to an extent with that, the deficiencies are blatantly obvious.
Anyone we sign has to be either world class or have that potential. SAF has stated we need at least 2 players, I will bow to his Knowledge, my opinion is we need 3, but what do I know.

17.) 29 Apr 2013
Robben may end up at manchester but if he does it will be with the blue half, SAF wouldn't go for him just out of principle, and I honestly think that as a person he is not suited to be at our club. when SAF buys an older player they always have a certain type personality and are very professional, if you look at berba, owen, blanc or van der saar, can you really see robben coming in and setting a good example to the youth?

18.) 29 Apr 2013
Dives a lot - Check
Selfish - Check
Older than 28 - Check
Had a poor fitness record - Check
Looking for one last big fat contract - Check

Look elsewhere. Nothing to do here, folks. SAF is wise enough.

19.) 29 Apr 2013
Need to give up on bale, its never going to happen!

20.) 29 Apr 2013
Just out of curiosity when you use inverted commas who exactly are you quoting because Ferguson certainly never said that?

Utter Rubbish. Another guy who takes every rumour and sticks them into one post saying he has inside info. Firstly SAF does not like Robben, he detests him. If ya don't believe me you can quite easily google transcripts of interviews he's done in the past.
Secondly
"Lew"
Nicknames already or you best mates. Sureley not as my Polish friends have advised me its pronounced LEV so you won't see him referred to as LEW anytime soon. Off ya pop and post more none sense!
