Its a loan yes. He started most reserve games last season guessing there's not anyone else in that position looking too promising from the academy? Or is Varela staying?

I'm assuming Varela is staying. He was supposed to be going to Boca Juniors on loan, but I believe it didn't come off

Yeah but Cumbria let's not forget players can still go out on loan after the transfer window closes, not sure when that period ends though.
