Nice to see a seriously world class player who realises that after Madrid there's only one place to go that isn't a step down and that's united! Finally a player who realises just how big a club we actuality are and isn't just jnterested in new money and current history ie Chelsea and city

You do realise that (a) this is all just media speculation that Ramos has his heart set on United, and (b) Ramos is unhappy because Madrid haven't offered him a new bigger contract, and United are, supposedly, willing to pay him significantly more than he's currently earning.

Don't get me wrong, Ramos would be a great signing. But if he joins it will be for a bumper contract and because of some starry eyed romanticism for the club.

Either way its great to see someone finally stand up to Madrid like Ed is doing, they are so used to getting what they want that they must be absolutely shocked and pretty confused as to what is transpiring. I know nothing has happened yet and we are all speculating, but can anyone remember when madrid selling a player because the player wanted to leave. Normally a player is sold because Madrid have no need of him not because the player decides to leave. I love the fact that it looks like we have really caused a bit of a stir at the Bernabeu. I still find it hard believe even given the mass media reports from some very well respected journalists working in Spain. Looks like in Ed we finally have someone high up in the running of the club who fully understands who the biggest brand in world football really is, ( backed up by rumours of Perez crying to Adidas bout why our kit deal dwarfs theirs). I think Ed is going for a straight swap DDG for Ramos if the rumoured amount of the bid is true its not far off the record for a keeper which is what we have heard we want them to pay for DDG. Apart from the statement of intent this promotes for the club I also thin Ramos is probably the most significant signing we could make this window. An experienced CB who as won everything in the game and is a natural leader, (twitter link of him before the Champs League final in the dressing room), and a defender that can distribute a ball. This would push our midfield further up the pitch and eliminate so much of what was poor about our system last season. Would love Otamendi and Schneiderlin to join I think with those 3 and Depay we would be serious challengers on all fronts next season. In Ed we trust

Its whay got rooney here ferdinand and when somebody offers more than us like in the case of ronaldo they will leave too. No surprise there money talks in every walk of life football is no different

Danny pughunited sometimes I wonder who is a proper united fan on here and who just plays at it. Yes we have money, yes we are willing to meet wage demands but a player of his calibre only willing to deal with united has something to do with the fact he considers us every big a club as Madrid and so he should! Most players now choose clubs for recent trophys or even just because they are in London! Us and Madrid are the two biggest clubs in the world by far and most players should want to join us over any other English club.
