Anyone think we might here something surprising in the press conference today. development on transfers?

Only that Darmaian is on his way for a medical

Well that will be a no. Can't believe this drama over Schneiderlin. He's worth their valuation can play in our league and wants to come yet we are dragging it out. ed needs to forget this Ramos and Bastian rubbish and get obtainable players signed whilst they are available. Looks like we will be going into the season with little preparations againstnd we all know how well we did last season with those preparation.

Jaime, I think you are being a little silly there mate. We have a strong squad they will be better by the start of the season. We have added two very good players to that squad who will have an instant impact. Yes, I would love to get the Schneiderlin deal done, but if it doesn't happen, I still think we have enough to mount a serious challenge next season. I mean, I would personally be happy with Herrera, Carrick and Mata in a midfield three.

And what happens if any of those three get injured especially Carrick get real we NEED two new midfielders but schneiderlin is an absolute must and then go after schweinsteiger and otamendi would like a striker but by the sounds of LVG at press conference d think he's planning on using depay and Wilson as strikers as back up to Rooney would definitely rather try that than buy kane

Come off the stage Sam, if anyone is being silly here it's the guy who thinks we have enough in a 34 year old who won't be able to play every week, Herrera, and a player who the manger sees as a right winger rather than central mid. More likely our most regular midfield will be Blind, Herrera and Fellaini, not exactly awe inspiring.

If we don't sign a top quality midfield it will be a disaster. At present we have Carrick, Fellaini, Herrera and Blind as recognised cm and dm players. If you think that that's sufficient depth to challenge for a title then you're off in la la land.

With our current squad we will be lucky to hang onto fourth place,

Oh wait, I forgot that WE ARE MANCHESTER UNITED = automatic title challengers

No depth there though Sam, we need more quality players in to rotate.

I kind of agree with jaimej79.

Sam, do you not remember how poor our midfield performed last season when ever Carrick got injured? I agree that yes our new signings will improve us massively but we also need to purchase someone who can fill the void in the middle of the park if/when Carrick gets injured.

Just my two pence added.

Where has it become fact that Morgan wants a move to Utd??

I understand he is less than keen and would prefer a move elsewhere. Why would he want to be mopping up (occasionally) for a poor back 4 without De Gea behind them?? That's a hiding to nothing.

Interview from within Saints this pm states any club purchasing Morgan will pay Saints valuation otherwise he will stay at the club. Morgan is aware of this. And I have suggested the media valuation that has gone £20m/£25m/£27m is speculation and is still some way from Saints actual valuation, so don't get too excited just yet.

Danny, you have your opinion and I have mine; and I don't think it is as dire a situation as you and a few other posters would have us believe.
I would much rather the club signed a top CM player, but if it doesn't happen, I am not going to mentally implode like some of you lot and declare it a disaster.

We have signed two players already. Both will be excellent additions IMO. Add to that some of the young talent we have waiting in the wings and a squad of players who will be better prepared for the season ahead, and I can only see positive things ahead next season.

Saint, I am sure some enjoy your input.

Seriously though, you have become a bit of a feeder club of late. That must be grating for you?

I agree Andy; but hypothetically speaking, the manager might want to blood a few more youngsters.

I highly doubt we won't sign another CM player. I just think it is a bit ludicrous to start writing us off if we don't. I am of the opinion that the team will be better next season. I believe that there is definitely a lot of pressure lifted and we will see the managers preferred system played week in week out; and I believe that system fits that players we already have very well.

Just my opinion mate. I'll get off the stage now. ;O)

samthered-if you would rather try and wind me up than check out my information feel free. Just suggest you visit the Saints WS and listen to todays interview with Les Reed. Doesn't seem to link in with the rumour that Morgan is having a medical this weekend.
Quite clear to me Utd have other preferred targets and just keeping an interest in Morgan currently. That could be a real problem. So could the fact that Saints will only agree to a transfer within a very limited timeframe.
I believe Saints v Valencia is on the box tomorrow. Will Morgan be in the squad?? Now, that should excite a few people!
