For the fear of being shot down. Would anyone think it could be Ronaldo?

We have been linked with literally every CF in the world and LVG says "The Striker" is not one the media have written about.

This is the only summer since he left that we haven't been heavily linked with him, does silence speak volumes. Couple that with what Paddy Crerand said and something "big" could be in the offing.

Ronaldo is the best player on the planet and adding him to the squad would guarantee atleast 25-30 goals for 2 seasons.
He is very very fit unlike Kaka or RVP and I can see him play in the top leagues until 35.
He also sold some of his rights (not sure?) to Peter Lim's company. Something fishy is up there.
I could see Madrid drop to 3rd or maybe 4th place if Ronaldo leaves him, he almost carried the team on his shoulders.

{Ed001's Note - very fit? Is this as in you find him attractive fit? Or as in you are ignoring the knee problem that limits his mobility and could well lead to him retiring early? I personally think he will head to the MLS in a couple of years to head into semi-retirement, once he has set a few goalscoring records. He is very keen on making himself better known in the US.}

I was only talking about this rumour last night with my Dad. Supposedly he is having problems with Real about his image rights?

While it would be great to have Ronaldo back, would it really be worth it?

He would cost a fortune in fee and wages, and at 30 we would only get a few years out of him before he is off to the MLS.

For my money, I would prefer Mullar or Bale, maybe Reus(?). Considering their ages, we would get longer out of them, and we might even get some money should they decide to leave for one last pay day.

Of course if Ronaldo does return,, happy days!

Surely with what you are saying ed that he wants to be better known in america before he goes there. Surely there is no better place than united for him to do that?

{Ed001's Note - Real Madrid are the biggest team in the world, in terms of marketing around the world.}

It would clearly be worth it. As fans we shouldn't concern ourselves with how much we pay for someone (providing the club can afford it).

Reus or Ronaldo are the two players that would fit into the system that haven't really been linked so I am guessing at one of those.

Any idea who the 'surprise' is ed?

{Ed001's Note - I can't think of anyone who hasn't been linked even, so no.}

LFC, so they are trying to get Zlatan out due to wages, and want to replace him with the highest paid player in the PL? Makes sense. TBH I've never seen what everyone raves about Ibrahimovic, but his book is an excellent read and I like his Cantona like arrogance.

{Ed001's Note - you know his book is a work of fiction? The ghost writer made most of it up for a bit of fun.}

He needed a subject to write it about though ed, who better than Zlatan?
