During Pre-Season there were so many pundits saying 'Chelsea is a Completely solid, settled team with only a good striker needed'.

When they were hammered by Red bulls, little panic kicked in.

There was a feeling that 'Chelsea are already stronger without any new signings even if the likes of City, United, Arsenal buy heavily and pre season games means nothing'.

They signed Falcao, Begovic, Kennedy and three others during that time.

Then during Community Shield 'Jet lag and tiredness are the reasons behind their 1-0 defeat to Arsenal. They will be normal in a 7 days time'. TROUSER LOOSED A BIT.

In Swansea game they might have lost the game if that lucky deflected goal was not scored. MORE PANIC.

In City game they were absolutely hammered by Aguero and co. Mourinho tried to satisfy himself by saying it was a fake result. To be honest i have to say Aguero was a bit rusty againt Chelsea.

Yesterday he saw United's good showing in CL qualifier. As usual he is more defensive minded so instead of buying a player he really needs, he plays defensively by stopping us signing Pedro. He may stop city signing Otamendi in the same manner.

PANIC BUTTON pressed.

In a matter of 20 days Mourinho and Chelsea melted down? Best back four in PL suddenly not even trusted by their own manager? Now Azpilicueta moved to right as I believe, Rahman left, Zouma and Cahill as CBs how settled is that back four?

To be honest I think Jose knew that we would not be good enough unless we signed 3 or 4 world class players. I think that this stems from the fact that Terry may have declined and not be the player of last year, when he held the defence together. You can't just stand still, u have to improve and hopefully that has now sunk in
I said that we (Chelsea) would be fighting for 4th place this year and have not changed my mind. I agree with most of what u say MM, most Chelsea supporters have the same feeling about Pedro as u lads, but we shall see.
Jose annoys us a lot of the time , so god knows what other teams think of him, but he is usually successful.
Good luck for this season, think we will all be chasing city this year,

Sid, I think the lad Zouma will blossom into a top CB; but at the moment he seems a bit defensively naive in certain situations. But he does have blistering pace and is very strong so he will definitely be an asset when playing against quick forwards.

I think Chelsea look a bit light in general. There doesn't seem to be real depth in the squad. A few key injuries could really have an impact. I mean, as good as Costa is, he seems to be injured quite a lot or not fully fit; and you don't have much in the way of back up that can be relied upon to get you goals.
Of course, you still have Hazard, but it might be a bit much to rely on one player bailing you out offensively every week.

I think it is way to premature to write you off yet. Granted, there are problems, but they can be redressed in the next few weeks with the right signings.
