At least that was fun to watch, but points dropped against a porous Newcastle side.

DDG outstanding again, but the back four was awful. When Ashley Young is our best defender, you know it is bad. Darmian is good positionally, but does not seem athletic enough, as surely Blind is not. Once he gets isolated, he is very vulnerable. And Smalling looked like he wanted to wrestle more than play. He deserved a second yellow.

In the MF, Schneiderlin broke up play well most of the game. Herrera was active and incisive in the first half, but had too many giveaways in the second. And Fellaini was a real liability. He stalls our momentum far too often.

Up front, Martial and Lingard kept good pressure on Newcastle. This game sums Lingard up for the moment. Great to see him score with a nice finish, but yet another gaping miss that could have put the game away. Rooney did well in all three goals, but Newcastle left a lot of space behind, a true #9 could have been in behind even more.

Hard to swallow three big misses: Fellaini's header straight to the GK, Lingard missing the frame, and Rooney cannot beat Coliccini in a one v one on the break.

I thought Fellaini played well defensively the first 30 minutes but that debately yellow card took him out of the match and he needed to be subbed out at half.

Big match Sunday, a draw and top three is gone, a loss and 4th place looks further away.

All Fellaini is good for is a few defensive headers. Does that make him worth playing? He can't pass, he can't dribble, he has no vision, he constantly fouls, he isn't good offensively anymore, he's missed sitters all season i could go on and on. He isn't a footballer he is player you bring on with 10 mins to go and hoof it up to, but even that side of his game is gone.

Im not usually this critical of a united player, everyone deserves a chance once they try, but i NEVER want to see that wigs b*st*rd in a utd shirt again. Imho he's cost us a lot of points this season.
