Young out for a "long time" with a severe groin injury, will be a massive miss for us without a doubt. Anyone think that this has come from him being overplayed? He's looked knackered recently I'm not suprised he's injured.
Hopefully varela gets a chance to start at right back and steps up to the plate.

I'd much rather see Italy international Darmian play there!

Andy, I totally agree about giving Varela a chance or Darmain back on the right but would love to see Pereira given more chances now on the left or behind the striker.

Darmian has been poor recently, also with rojo out and blind playing cb we need a left back and darmian can play there, would be good to see CBJ get some game time too.

So LVG has now publicly stated that he is trying to acquire a fullback in this window, and with 10 days to go its looking difficult. We have needed a fullback since day 1 of this window, 22 days ago, so I will not be holding my breath on that transfer being successful.
But a couple of things spring to mind. The first is the players he has released in positions that we have struggled to fill with injuries eg. Rafael. Secondly the number of players that he plays out of position. eg. Mata, Martial, Fellaini, Blind (would love to see him in midfield), Valencia, Young etc. Probably in any match that United have played probably has half the team out of position. Is it any wonder we never play well. Hopefully he will go at the end of the season.

Is it not better to play Darmian at his normal position rb where he's deemed good enough for Italy. And play Borthwick Jackson at left back where he's played throughput his young career and has done so extremely well whenever we've called upon him.
