Plenty of pessimism on here now, ut once we get thd players fit ETH can then drop the under performers, they either stay and fight or go. l really think Armabat and especially the young lad Mainoo will be a great addition, l like what l saw from Hjlund too last week. I don't see us or anyone catching City, but l do think we will start to improve after the International break. If we can get the sale done before December could see a few more sold and 1 or 2 come in. At that stage ETH has to deliver he will have almost a new team with his type of players. His style and systems need to perform on the pitch.

What’s to be excited about though, we are 6 points and what 11 goals behind we only played 4 games, we still not got no actual style of play, we now probably going to lose one of Tens biggest acquisitions which he clearly got blind faith in, plus can’t see how Sancho recovers from his outburst, the 6 points we got I think we have to be very thankful for because certainly did not deserve, we got injuries all over the team and looks like unrest in the team too… I would say lots have the right to be very pessimistic indeed.

I think we will improve after the break too and as the season goes on, especially with the players coming back. We are still a few players short that I’m sure ETH would like but we were very short last year and still did very well. Must be such a crap life being so pessimistic about everything all the time, as a fan you have to have hope or what’s the point?

I love it when you read about 'must win' games like Sheff Utd V Everton last week or Arsenal or whoever can't afford to drop any more points or it's all over. Merson makes these sweeping statements every day. It takes literally one or two games to completely change everything.
Agree that there are a handful of teams in the same ballpark as us know, big teams going through big changes. Throw in the over-achieving teams like Brighton then it's the most competitive the league has ever been. I do believe City is the only side pretty much guaranteed to finish top 4. The other three can be any of about 8 teams and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Utd finishing at the tail-end of that pack. I don't think any lower though, personally.

The whole team are under performers not consistent. seems every game there's 4or5 that have a bad game. injuries doesn't help
I heard big Phil Jones is around the club again he can give great tips to the lads.

What really makes me laugh, is the sheer amount of fans who think that, because ten Hag likes a particular system, it must surely be him at fault if the said system doesn't succeed or even appear.

Firstly, there is such a thing as a footballer's IQ.
Furthermore, there are footballers who are thick.

There are people who profess to be carpenters and can actually do the isolated technical stuff quite well, but are utterly lost when it comes to designs or layouts and simply cannot apply reason or vision to their work.
They just lack the IQ to expand upon the basics they do so well.
These people are Chips - similar to Chippies, but not quite.

I firmly believe that United are somewhat hamstrung by the squad being so full of Chips - Chips who for years have been given opportunities they just don't deserve.

That said, we've got rid of a few Chips this summer and that can only be good because now we'll see more opportunities being granted to the youngsters.

The value of my optimism will be defined by the ownership situation.
If the parasites leave, then I will be an optimistic and very happy hominid.

I am optimistic about our chances even with all the mess. The only thing that dents that is if we can't through this injury crisis and have it all season.

a few weeks of stability will see some really good results imo. CB biggest concern, will leak goal with evans and maguire.

Its a slow day only a couple bad pieces of news lol.

You have to remember historically we aren't a big winner of trophies. Ferguson broke a 26year wait for a league title.

We then went through and unparalleled period of success and now we have reverted back to our normal state, occasional titles, better in the cup competitions.
