Contrast Doku for City who is direct has pace goes for the jugular but then in the very last minute is back defending his own goal line to Utds Sancho and Anthony. And Doku cost a fraction of their prices. On a nutshell rhas why City are so far ahead.

With city its the people they have in charge. They got the right people in a year before pep took over. With the transfers, they get it right 9/10 and never pay stupid money. I'm sure there are some shady deals going on over there, but they know what they are doing.

Us on the otherside seem to have no idea except splashing cash. We need to get the brighton guys in. They find the rough diamonds and polish them up.

Hopefully, we get new owners in, and they get proper people to run the club.

Liverpool fan here but I just wanted to wade in on the topic of City getting 9/ 10 transfers right. Personally, I don't think this is the case. The only reason why it seems so is because they are so rich that they can easily write-off wrong transfers and go out into the market and get a new player.

Just look at how many defenders they bought to replace Kompany before they finally landed on Dias. Or how they bout Jesus to replace Aguero but ended up still playing the Aguero because of how poor Jesus was. Or how they bought multiple keepers to replace Hart before getting Ederson. There are plenty of other examples too if you look through their transfer history.

Don't get it wrong, they have splashed the cash but unlike other clubs, they are not affected by the mistakes they make in the market.

Jesus was not poor.
I remember a few fair times he came off the bench and scored.

{Ed001's Note - oh he was poor. So poor Pep didn't even play him as a striker after giving up on him there because he didn't score enough. And now he has gone to Arsenal and still failing to score enough.}

Duku cost 60 mill I believe so not cheap.

City have the luxury of bringing in players into a great squad and allowing them time to settle in and don't have the media spotlight or toxic fan base that writes players off after a handful of games. They get some wrong but get many right.

They are in such a good place that no individual signing is looked at as a savior. if it turns out to be a mistakes they move them on eventually without missing a beat.

Doku is still a raw talent but he has physical qualities which can not be taught which is why city have picked him out. Pep will back himself to coach Doku and refine his game technically.

Contrast that with Antony and Sancho who are good technically but don't have the physical qualities for the league which you can not really teach in my opinion. I don't recall Antony or Sancho beating their full back 1 vs 1 as much as Doku has and I've only seen him play 2 games lol.

You mention Antony, who also scored on his debut, and also put a massive shift in defensively. What point are you trying to make?

Let’s give Doku a full season to see how he turns out. I’m sure he’ll be fine under Pep, but this seems like bashing our players for the sake of it.

I made the point, Antony can not physically hack this league, confirmed by the point i have never seen him beat his full back 1 vs 1 because he doesn't have the explosive pace to do it.

The same city who got it spot on with Gvardiol Kovacic, Rodri, KDB and Silva Dracred lol? You are talking about players that were signed ten years ago. Kompany and Aguero retired ten years ago.
They don't make many mistakes these days and if i am not wrong they are one of the highest selling club across the top 6 clubs.

LFIP, are you Harry from the Liverpool page? because the misinformation you spouted is very reminiscent of his. And your love-in with Kovacic, who has done absolutely nothing this season with City, is like his as well.

Kompany left City in 2019, Aguero in 2021. A simple Google search would have given you that answer. And last I checked, 2019 and 2021 aren't 10 years ago. They make plenty of mistakes in transfers but it's easy for them to cover up since they have the money to just go out and buy a new replacement player each window.

DSG my comment was not aimed at you but the OP.

It appears to be putting Doku’s debut on a pedestal while bashing Anthony, but Anthony had an almost identical debut.
