this is an lfc fan here I've got a friend who shall we say moves in the same circles as colleens brother and this is what he's heard and I swear I have no reason to disbelieve him because he's no liar roony had words with fergie after being dropped for the real madrid game they were heated words and roony told fergie he's not happy at all at being dropped and that the team even with van persie just isn't good enough to do itself justice in the champs league so now roony is seriously thinking about moving this summer and my mate thinks he will be off because there is nothing left for him to achieve at united he's become stale there and wants a fresh challenge

I hope your friend is right. I want riddance of the useless fat lump. His attitude as a professional player stinks. Turning up for pre season overweight was a disgrace.

3.) 21 Apr 2013
I hope he's right as well. Rooney isn't good enough to make a team challenging for the CL. Hence why Kagawa is better than him.

4.) 21 Apr 2013
Come on lads be fair, Rooney has given us a good number of years. He has looked out of sorts since the Bayern ankle injury, but he is still a United player and should be appreciated for what he has done for us since he signed in 2004.

5.) 21 Apr 2013
Kagawa better than Rooney? Not yet. Certainly not based on performances in a United shirt. Yes Rooney has pushed his luck with Fergie too many times and a post Real game bust-up ain't exactly unexpected. I think Rooney's past his sell-by date as many will agree. But Kagawa hasn't pulled up trees just yet. I agree he has great potential though and had injury to contend with. Kagawa will be much better though when Rooney's moved on as at least he won't be played out of position!

6.) 21 Apr 2013
I think that Rooney getting annoyed and having 'heated talks' with a Fergie is a good thing? He wants to play football and getting upset about not playing can't be a bad thing.

7.) 21 Apr 2013
I think it's ridiculous the way that so called fans slate Rooney when he's going through a bad season, but as soon as he comes good again and he will you'll be saying how good he is. There's been a couple of seasons when he's carried the team and this season because we have rvp as the main forward he hasn't scored as many as he probably should have. If like to see what you all have to say when he scores the goal that wins us the title tomorrow

Hi
As a UTD supporter for 35 yeras I feel that I would like to give my thoughts,
I would tend to agree that Rooney has underachieved this season and that we have seen the best of him and maybe as tradition goes that Fergie is right to move on a player who has seved us well but still as some resale value!

9.) 21 Apr 2013
Mardy bum, get gone!
Got a start in Madrid but was absolutely abject, no? And then has the cheek to pull his manager about the replay - He's gone stale because his attitude has permitted it!

10.) 21 Apr 2013
Think it's the first time I have disagreed with Sydney! What Rooney has done for us in the past does NOT give him an automatic right to a place in the team (same applies to Giggs too). Players need to earn their place in the team - at the moment, Rooney is not good enough for United and hasn't been for a while.

11.) 21 Apr 2013
Lord, I agree with what you have just said, all in fact. just don't think Rooney deserves abuse, that's all.

12.) 21 Apr 2013
Well if Rooney wants a challenge, how about turning himself into the complete midfield player. failing that, maybe just redeveloping a decent first touch will be challenge enough

13.) 21 Apr 2013
There are a lot of things to consider here though other than "is he still good enough". Rooneys attitude has to be called into question. Does he have the motivation to stay at the top of his game, with RVP arriving he will need to play deeper is he willing and able to do that, his contract has one year left next summer so if we are going to sell then this summer would be the best time. Financial issues play a part and he hasn't justified 220k a week for the last 2 seasons.

And Haleseni (regarding what you said above), I think SAF has held back Kagawa this season, he's played him out wide instead of centrally. Kagawa has been better than Rooney whenever he's played centrally. When Kagawa plays centrally we play our best football.

12 goals 9 assist in the league a player cam/cf really underachieving if anyone is going it is welbeck

Deary me Fickle fans!
Sydney, you are are correct, what Rooney has done for this club has been fantastic, when Ronaldo left Rooney carried United that season scoring 34 goals in all competitions. He also scored 34 goals last season in all competitions.
He has been been a great servant here and I cannot believe the crap what some of you have wrote about him. He doesn't deserve that.
I do agree that his time is up and if we get a decent offer in the region of 25-30 million pounds we should sell him. His best days are behind him and I think he has fitness and weight issues.
Just ease off, his has been a quality player for United over the years and I for one will always remember Rooney as one of the best modern day players I hjave seen at United.

I can't believe so many people have bitten on a post that's just another Scouser having a dig about Europe.

Mind you, they'll have twice as many games in Europe next season compared to what they were expecting, seeing as Cardiff have been promoted.

18.) 24 Apr 2013
I hope this isn't true because Rooney, though having a bad season by his standards, is still is valuable asset to United and if he leaves he won't get more challenge than he does with us, the only way would be down.
