He can see what we need. Like I have said we need a RB, LB, CB, CM & winger. I think Adnan (winger) and Jones (CB) means we only need one CB and one winger. We certainly need two new fullbacks and a CB. One winger and a midfielder, unless Balague is expecting Rooney in midfield next season with Mata in the hole?

2.) 23 Feb 2014
Great. First Sydney has us selling Rooney now he wants us to sell Rafael! What a crock!

3.) 23 Feb 2014
"He says Moyes wants Rafael gone. Very odd, as even as back-up Rafael would be very useful." That's Syd on Rafael this season. Rafael is far too good for us to be selling him atm. We are not leaking goals/chances down the right like we are on our left. Yes he can be petulant, not as bad as Rooney, but he is pretty good defensively, if he could just learn to cross. In fairness if Moyes wants him gone we'd probably get as much for him as a replacement would cost. Still with our other issues RB should not be a priority.

4.) 23 Feb 2014
Question. Would Rafael be courted by Barca, Bayern, Real etc? No. He is not world class. Had a great season last year where he was much improved. Has regressed this year though. And he is far too reckless.

5.) 23 Feb 2014
Um not in favor of dumping him, but I feel Rafael is massively overrated my most fans. He's preset talented, but his positioning and crossing is dire. He's also poor defensively and Without Valencia playing ahead of him he's exposed badly. He's been responsible for 4 or 5 goals this season where the ball comes into the box and he's lost his man. He's also very rash in over commuting himself, sometimes with really dangerous 2 footed tackles like the one on Cahill against Chelsea. He's not up to being 1st choice IMO and hasn't matured as was hoped he would. Coleman all the way, brilliant all round full back that also fits into Moyes' way of playing.

6.) 23 Feb 2014
Syd, perhaps Rooney will be the number 9 next summer and RVP will leave.

7.) 23 Feb 2014
KG, again you are missing the point. SAF wanted Rooney gone. Just like Moyes doesn't rate Rafael. It's what the manager's want, not me.

I would never sell a fully fit Rooney, last season he was tragically poor and if he continued that into this season I would sell in an heartbeat. Rafael would be great back-up for both the RB and LB position. I wouldn't sell Rafael, but he is too unreliable at RB. We need two new fullbacks and more importantly, Moyes wants two new fullbacks.

8.) 23 Feb 2014
Bloody hell Syd it seems you have p!ssed on a few peoples cornflakes! you have taken a lot of stick for the last few days it seems opinions are not appreciated on here ;P

9.) 23 Feb 2014
Dean, can you imagine how much better we would be with two fullbacks that can actually defend and two CB's that can push up into the midfield. Then a busy midfielder that will boss the midfield with Fellaini. With a fantastic quad of Rooney, Mata, Van Persie & Adnan ahead of them all. I like Rafael and I am not suggesting we sell him, but he needs competition. People don't like it when they hear a player who they like are not rated by the manager. The same happened when Nani was being flogged. People couldn't accept it as they liked him.

10.) 23 Feb 2014
Omg colemon is an average RB who is having a good season is he world class? No? Does he have potential to be world class? No again where as Rafael yes not having a good season has potential to be class and tbh Rafael has suffered from injuries this year which has hampered his progression and we struggle on the left rather then the rright

11.) 23 Feb 2014
Coleman is someone I think Moyes will go for. I am not aware of many decent RB's out there at the moment. Rafael is a decent player, but he is unreliable and we need someone who is going to stay in position and someone who is going to use their head.

12.) 24 Feb 2014
Keep slating Rooney Syd, the more you slate him the better he seems to get.

13.) 24 Feb 2014
Simmo, who's slating Rooney?

14.) 24 Feb 2014
Nearly every post regarding Rooney you mention how he's lost his pace, his body is knackered (even RVP'S body is in better condition)
He'll never be the player he was, he's on the decline.
God help this club if he wasn't playing this season, we really would be in the sh*t without him.
Lets no forget, lots and lots of people on here wanted him gone and replaced by Kagawa which I find hilarious!!!

15.) 24 Feb 2014
Simmo, I haven't criticised Rooney since last season when he was under performing, overweight and sulking. This season he has been much better, it's amazing what a bit of hard work in the gym can do for you. Saying a 30 year old RvP is in better physical shape than a 28 year old Rooney is not criticising Rooney. It's applauding RvP for his professionalism.

Like I said I haven't criticised Rooney since last season when he fully deserved his criticism. let's not forget what you said about him after the Swansea game.

16.) 24 Feb 2014
LOL. Syd if it was upto you he would of been shipped out last season.
By the way I didn't know that you were an expert on the human body as well, thanks for letting us all know that RVP'S 30 year old body is in better condition than Rooneys 28 year old body.
Can you provide concrete proof for your medical theory?

17.) 24 Feb 2014
It was my opinion Simmo, I doubt many could argue that RvP is a better physical specimen than Rooney. Rooney has told us, SAF has told us that Rooney is constantly battling against his genes. Rooney used Giggs as an example, RvP is just like Giggs.

I would have sold Rooney if he started the season like he finished the last one. Then so would have SAF.

18.) 24 Feb 2014
I also said in the summer that I would only sell Rooney if we signed Cesc, Reus and Baines first and I wouldn't sell him to a rival. However a fully fit, motivated Rooney I wouldn't sell at all. Just like I have been saying all season.

19.) 24 Feb 2014
And suddenly we all like Rooney again.
How fickle!

20.) 24 Feb 2014
It's not fickle, it's common sense.

Last season Rooney was fat, unmotivated, sulking and was under performing. This season he sorted out his fitness, got to the gym and shaved off a few pounds and he is playing better this season. I would criticise Rooney again if he let himself go again in the future. As a professional you should be in tip top shape all of the time.

Rooney doesn't deserve special treatment. All players should be 100% committed.
