Now I'm not going to claim to be in the know about anything as I don't! I enjoy reading what people with far more insight than myself have to say so I'm just going to give my opinion as a fan.

Ronney is a fantastic player despite mixed opinions but I don't feel he justifies his hefty wage. I'm not going to say I'd love to see him go as I wouldn't, but if there was the chance of a ronaldo return I would happily see rooney sold on to free up the wage bill somewhat as the two players would take up an onscene amount of the wage bill. I couldn't see a part ex to madrid happening and I think he would like to remain in England and with his wage demands, in my opinion that would mean chelsea a likely destination.

We are in desperate need of some new midfield talent and after reading someone elses post about Thiago AND Strootman possinbly signing that would certainly fill the void and I'm sure make a lot of fans extremely happy. Me one of them!

To balance the books further and with Zaha coming in I wouldn't be upset if Anderson and Nani and even possibly Valencia were sold on. I don't feel Nani or Anserson have either lived up to their iniitial promise and I don't think Valencia was as effective last season as he has been in the past.

Look forward to reading your comments!

Well my view is this, we are a better team with Rooney in the starting 11, however, we would be an even better team with Ronaldo in the starting 11 instead of Rooney! For me, although Ronaldo is a year older, I think in the next 4/5 years we would get more from Ronaldo then we would Rooney and we'd probably get maybe 6/7 years from Ronaldo as he takes care of himself and could play until he's 35.

I wouldn't be unhappy if Rooney stayed but not at the expense of a pay rise, by all means extend the contract but not with a pay rise. But if selling Rooney meant getting Ronaldo, I would jump at the chance.

Problem I see with Rooney is to where he fits in the team. If we get Thiago and Strootman then I would not want him to start in expense of RVP, Kagawa, Thiago, Stootman or Carrick, my point being Rooney can play in the positions these players occupy. So this leaves either side of a central 3 behind RVP, of course, assuming we go 4-2-3-1 which I believe is the formation we should adopt because if we go 4-4-2 then who partners Carrick? Kagawa would be wasted wide left and Thiago like wise wide right, basically Stootman can't play either flank so should partner Carrick, or we drop Carrick which we definitely should not do!

So unless Rooney plays as second fiddle perhaps he should move on, but there is a danger he could go the same way Gazza went if he moved to London and I can't see him moving abroad and being a success.

For me next season I would love Carrick and Strootman as a 2 and then Ronaldo - Thiago - Kagawa as a 3 behind RVP. Rooney could obviously play where Ronaldo is but has stated he wants to play up front so will he have a whinge and moan being to the right of a 3?

Totally agree, these signings will definately make everyone happy. But you're going to have to wait until next season for Ronaldo to come back.
