Opinions folks;

If you could have signed one player in their prime for United from the past 15-20 years, who would it be and why?

Mine would be Steven Gerrard. For me he is the best central midfielder (other than Scholesy) to have played in the Premier League. He can pass long and short, he scores goals from distance or from in the box, he is a great tackler and loves getting stuck in and he's a winner and a leader. He has everything. Would have loved us to get him at around about 2004 or 2005 as I reckon he would have been the driving force behind even more success for us had he been here when we were going toe to toe with Chelsea.

Alan Shearer for me. I reckon we would of won a lot more with him in the team, one of the greatest strikers ever in my opinion

Zidane would be my first choice obviously ( no french person would say otherwise ), and a tie between El Phenomeno anf Totti.

Hard choice because of so many options! Zidane, Messi, Brazil Ronaldo, Batistuta, Kaka, Maldini, Cafu, Henry, Raul, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos there's so many! I would personally go for Zidane.

Messi because in 08 would of been unreal to see him Ronaldo thin Rooney in the team and back then the best defence and gk in the world . well best team in the world

For me Zidane, he was such a special player. With him, Ruud would have a field day every match. Other than probably Ronaldo, Henry, or Kaka.

For me it has to be Shearer. Surprised only 1 person has put this above. Yes there are many bigger stars. Zidane is my favourite player ever but I think with Shearer we would have won more European cups because he would have scored so many goals with the service from our midfield
