Hello people :)

I know that Ronaldo coming back is not a huge possibility, rather a very very slim chance of it actually happening. But let's say he becomes a Man United player by the end of the transfer window. How would it effect the team in your opinion. You obviously can't put him on the bench. So, that means one of the other wingers would have to be sacrificed. If Ronaldo plays on the right hand side, Valencia would be the one to make way. If he plays on the left hand side, either Nani or Young have to sold. Personally, I can't see him playing through the centre or up top, because of RvP and Kagawa/Rooney (if he stays). Then obviously there is Zaha, who has had a good pre-season and deserves every little opportunity to play.

Basically, what I'm asking is, How do you guys see Ronaldo fitting into the starting XI, Keeping in mind the formation the manager has used in the pre-season games.

My opinion is that Valencia could be sold to make way for Ronaldo (if this transfer actually happens). The way the team has been playing under David Moyes, I just don't think a traditional winger like Valencia would fit in.

Thank You.

If Ronnie comes back he can play where he wants and I will clean his boots.

Ronaldo left, kagawa central and Rooney right.

Completely agree with Andrew. I like Young as a person, but he is a squad player at best for united

Agree with AndrewB, cr7 will play on the left where we've not had a decent winger in years. This is the position he mostly played at Real, and he was quite successful there!
In my opinion, young or Valencia should be sold, both are one footed wingers, and that's the reason they are not performing. If you are a full back and you know the winger can only go one way, then it is a lot easier to mark the winger.
The quality of full backs in the top teams has risen dramatically in recent years, as these players are now seen as a big part of the team defensively and offensively. So unless we have wingers who can play with both feet, ie Ronaldo, robben, hazard etc, then they will be caught out.

Thank You for the replies.

I would like Rvp up-top with Ronaldo-Kagawa and Rooney behind him. This would have enough creativity and attacking instinct to scare any opposition. And if a match calls for wingers (Like under Sir Alex, the 4-4-2) we can obviously use Nani/Zaha on one side and Ronaldo on the other. I think if Ronaldo does come back, Young and possibly Valencia could be surplus to requirements. Why not Nani? Becuase I feel that he has the talent, only needs to be consistent.
