Before everyone gets carried away about today's game and what moyes said after it, liverpool only scored the one goal which could have been offside if you watch closely, besides the fact it was stuffy but they didn't do much after that. We had more possession granted most of it was passing backwards at times it was just lacking in that final third.
Now as for his comments after the game don't read too much into them, he has to say that, he needs to stop the players heads going down after a defeat for one so he says we played well and as for the transfers saying he can make do if no signings happen is covering himself if woodward screws up tomorrow, he is under the microscope at the moment for everything he says not just from fans and media but from his own players.

Besides, if he came out and said he was very unhappy with today's performance it could also mean any transfers we are interested in could become that much more expensive if the sellers think we are desperate. He needs to come across as if he is happy with what he has at this stage.

Yes good point mate

How could the goal nearly be offside? There was at least 2 players standing on the line watching the ball come straight at them before sturridge flicked it past them both.

Yes and before he had flicked it into the net he had run around the gk and and was behind the 2 defenders when flicked on to him, if he wasn't it was very close.
