Just read an article saying that Carrick is in his lat year of contract and we haven't tied him down to a new de yet. Why does the club seem to have problems with getting our best players under contract. Really poor.

Also wouldn't be worried about Carrick's contract he loves playing for United and I can see him retiring here.

That isn't the point, I dislike the way that we act about contracts, we take the assumption that everyone well stay and can't be attracted by other top clubs.

Fresh,

Once players get to a certain age we give them a rolling contract knowing full well they will stay. That then means if they have a lack of form or when they come to the end of their career we do not have a player 3 years longer than we should have. The players we do it with are ones we know won't be going elsewhere.
