Hi Big Al, to be honest, it really depends where in London she would need to travel - it can easily take more than an hour to get from one side to the other. It can be a nightmare, as a Londoner myself! Though I'd say the East London side is reasonable for commuting, and accommodation is not too expensive either.

4.) 06 Jun 2014
Big Al what sort of place you looking for?

5.) 06 Jun 2014
Deepred thanks yes I heafd east.london ia the best.option. I just her safe first! Any towns outside london you know of?

I'm sure others will have better knowledge than me but TBH 20-30 mins is nothing in London and you would still be in the thick of it if that's how long it takes you to travel to your destination. there aren't any easy options, the south is cheap but I wouldn't want to send my daughter there. Nice areas in north London but far from cheap. My main recommendation would be to contact the uni accommodation department direct and ask their advice. deepred's advice with regards the East end sounds wise to be fair, in my line of work I hear a few East end boroughs are improving (especially since the olympics) yet still remain cheaper than other, more central areas. Bow was an area I was recommended for investment purposes few years ago so locations near there might be a good bet. A bit speculative sorry as I have never lived in London full time, good luck.

Big Al, I'm aware of the fact that studemt loans vary dependent on whether you're in London or not, so I wondered whether it was worth considering areas where it is cheaper but the loan was still in the London jurisdiction

To live as a student in London, it is genuinely worth paying the extra to live as close to campus as possible, if money allows. Her student loan SHOULD be higher for living costs to accommodate living there. Living in the boonies would be too much hassle and then she'd have to pay massive travel costs anyway, so not really worth it IMO

For a new student in London, it may be better to live in the halls of residence for the first year, as it will be closer to the uni and she can learn her surroundings easier. Generally students in the 2nd and 3rd years live outside once they're familiar with the city and comfortable moving around. What the other posters have said is true, student loan should be more for London unis, but of course the interest on the loan can be dissuading.

If HoR aren't an option for you then I'd have a look at Barking, Dagenham, Stratford, Romford in the east. I think other places in the east may be too far/expensive to commute. The north is expensive, the South is cheaper but not safe at all. The west is also not a bad option but is slightly more expensive than the east. Hope this helps!

I hope the Iturbe rumours are true, hw will be awesome. IMO him and Muniain the best left sided guys out there for their age. I believe Ed002 had said we have no interest in Iturbe.

Ed002 Muniain is out of contract I believe. Is there ay interest fem us in the player?

{Ed002's Note - Verona bought him this summer for the purposes of profiteering - and we cannot discuss a little side deal that has been agreed. This has driven Roma, Napoli and Fiorentina out of any chance of buying the player. Real Madrid and Chelsea have both said they are interested - and efforts have been made to try and get Manchester City, Barcelona and other clubs interested so they can sell to the highest bidder. Generally clubs are not interested in auctions.

Muniain is not out of contract. Spurs made a recent enquiry, but that was before they appointed Pochettino. I expect that Muniain will agree a contract extension with Athletic Bilbao.}
