Anybody seen the video of the Holland/Argentina penalty shootout, showing Ron Vlaar's penalty (hollands first) and he actually scores it.

The keeper saves the ball, and the back spin takes it just over the line.

That counts as a goal haha! Absolutely wild.

He headed/shouldered the ball before it went in.

Is there a rule in shoot outs that once the ball changes direction (goes away from the goal) it is classed as saved? would it be a goal if it hit the post and went in off the keeper?

i thought it was still active until the ball has stopped or gone out of play?

I'm not 100% sure he did Doni, thr ball would have gained more pace, where-as it only rolled in from backspin.

Fair enough if he did shoulder it, but if he didn't i'm surprised more hasn't been made of it tbh.

I don't think it did touch him, he looked to dodge out the way, but additionally I am not convinced it crossed the line. Looked to just rest on the line.

Ball is live until it comes to a complete stop as far as I am aware

If it went over the line the refs watch would have buzzed with the goal line technology and he would have known straight away. Think it's clear from the pictures it was close but not quite over.

GDS, there is another angle of it, and it actually stopped on the line lol, unlucky for him and Netherlands if he didn't touch it as it would have counted.
